  1. There's a Kotor3 thread loafing around here somewhere - let's take this discussion over there.
  2. I love any episode where Weir puts some military jerk in his place and reminds him who's in charge of Atlantis. That and the one when McKay and Beckett kissed.
  3. I agree 86% with Mike Gravel. Should I know who Mike Gravel is?
  4. I also find the prospect of a McCain presidency unworrying. It will certainly be a massive improvement on the present incumbent - any of the three current mainstream contenders would be. I think this is going to be a good year. On a related note, after Super Tuesday the commentators on the news were all saying that February would be a good month for Obama, but that Clinton would be able to recover ground in March. Is that still likely to happen, or is Obama doing well in places that Clinton was counting on to make her comeback?
  5. It's rather more than just valuing leisure more. It all depends on how you want to measure wealth -you might want to include personal development, access to healthcare, social networks and so on. One can take this to silly extremes, of course, but economists and their sometimes exclusive interest in GDP are rather silly, too. While I agree with some aspects of the articles, notably that European leaders keep talking about stimulating growth and not acting upon what they say, as a whole I don't think it reflects reality in Europe. It would be more interesting to see a comparison which excluded the super-rich from the equation, and focused more on the opportunities and choices available to people lower down the economic scale.
  6. The Daily Telegraph
  7. Let's keep everything together on the thread in the Star Wars forum.
  8. Eurogamer is reporting on an Atari document that claims a second NWN2 expansion pack is in the works, due out sometime in this year or early next. If it's true, I'm definitely looking forward to that. Mass Effect for PC, Kotor 3 by Bioware, and NWN2 XP2 all in the same week! Though of course only one of those is actually confirmed, but still...
  9. First Mass Effect on PC, and now this! Bioware likes me this week. Of course, I'd rather Obsidian were making it, but you have to take what you can get, and I'm sure Bioware will do a fine job.
  10. Yay!!! No need to buy an XBox 360 now.
  11. I think big centrist 'national unity' coalitions are good for a short time, but become problematic in the longer term. People who oppose the incumbents (often for very good reasons) get driven to extremes of right and left as the only sources of real opposition. That's how Haider got elected in Austria.
  12. There's a rumour that Mass Effect is coming to the PC. Good news if true.
  13. Jack Keane. It's very colourful.
  14. I see. Well, cheers for info about this patch. I think I will actually play the game now.
  15. They were talking about releasing a massive patch around a gig or so. Maybe that was cancelled? I have to admit I haven't been following it in detail.
  16. Is this the big one? Is it time to finally play this darned game that's been sat idle on the shelf for a year now?
  17. I thought the general idea of security was to get something that looked slightly harder to crack than whatever your neighbours have. So you'd need to scout around the area a bit.
  18. I'm glad it will exist. Now let's hope it's good.
  19. Hmm, I already own both NWN 2 and the Mask of the Betrayer as do most people on these boards (at least I would guess so). I lost all interest in the Mysteries of Westgate the day I learned that it will require online authentication every time you play. I have no problem with requiring online registration to enable play, but I am not going to stand for having to do that every time, so I am not buying that. Instead, I will wait for a proper second expansion pack... which I hope will come eventually. I don't mind online authentication as such, though I think those who do have a legitimate point. My problem with the NWN premium modules is that apparently they are locked to the version of NWN you have installed when you first use them. I got NWN and its expansions on a single disc with the NWN2 Collector's Edition, but I can't use it to play my premium modules - instead, I'll have to re-install from my original 5 discs. Lucky I kept them, I guess. I wonder if this will also apply to Mysteries of Westgate? If it does, and people want NWN2: Gold, they'd better make sure they get it before Westgate is released.
  20. I'm playing The Sims 2. I bought the Seasons and Holidays expansions as downloads on Wednesday, and when they failed to download or even appear in the download manager I emailed EA customer services. I'm still waiting for a reply.
  21. I'm a Gryphon. I'm the same as Hurlshot and Dark Raven, which tells me not very much at all, I think.
  22. Really, you liked this? I guess being a teacher I'm not really well-disposed towards liking school-based fiction, but I thought it was dire and very clunky.
  23. I don't drive a car (I had a few lessons once but never finished the course), but I've ridden motorbikes and I prefer to have the clutch, no question. Without it my left hand doesn't know what to do with itself.
  24. Closed for length. Next part is here.
  25. Previous thread is here.
