  1. The force powers are good, but like most 'magic-user'-style characters, consulars tend to be weaker in the earlier levels. A super-strong fighter-style character can absorb a lot of damage and so is probably more forgiving of the mistakes that new players are likely to make. If you had no trouble with a consular from the start, consider that proof of your skill.
  2. I'm about to start The Witcher. So I'm reading the manual before I start and ... What? What are you looking at me like that for? Of course I read the manual before playing. Doesn't everyone? Anyway, I apparently have to choose a difficulty level. Can I change the difficulty level once I've started playing the game, or is it fixed forever? If I can't change it, how challenging would you say 'medium' difficulty is? This is for someone who found the combat in Oblivion and Jade Empire quite difficult and is a little frightened by talk of 'attack sequences'. :ninja10:
  3. Hello, and welcome to the forums. A number of things might have happened, but most importantly, you need to be very strongly either light-side or dark-side (I think it's 75% or so) before you get near the end of the main 'four planets' section of the game. That's the condition that people sometimes miss. Other than that, it's a good idea to exhaust your dialogue options with Visas and Kreia. The prestige class dialague should appear once you reach level 15 or thereabouts.
  4. OK, I think I get it now. Thanks. I think Kotor 3 would almost certainly have a different engine to the previous two games in the series (given the elapsed time), but I imagine they will want to keep a similar approach to camera/view. Personally I liked the NWN2 camera which you could constantly adjust, but I guess some people found that problematic. I don't see why first-person, over-the shoulder and freer third-person shouldn't all be options.
  5. You're absolutely right - there are still people who come on here who've never completed the game, and it's only courteous to those people to use spoiler text where appropriate. Generally, combat isn't very difficult in Kotor 2, so any combination of combat types will usually work out.
  6. You've barely scratched the surface! The planet you're on is called Taris, and there was a mixed reaction to it. I liked it, but a fair number of people found it incredibly boring. That being the case, there's a good chance that once you've finished it, the game will only get better and better for you. However, from the sounds of it, you've still got a way to go to finish Taris even.
  7. *sings* Jamie! Jamie! Jamie and the Magic Torch. Down the helter skelter, faster and faster towards Cuckoo Land. Video. You're not allowed to reminisce about childhood cartoon shows unless you're prepared to sing the theme song loudly in your place of work/study. I also liked Dungeons and Dragons.
  8. How far have you got in Kotor?
  9. Isn't it 'Z' in NWN2?
  10. I'm still waiting until they start running out of things to fix.
  11. I don't think this is about Kingdom Hearts any more, so I'm going to close it.
  12. 3/4 view is what I refer to as the behind or back of the character and slightly raised or elevated. Diablo was called a 3/4 view and it just kind of stuck with me as a reference. Both KOTOR games are behind view rather than first person. Okay, I get it. Sort of third-person over-the-shoulder kind of view. I don't really see where the '3/4' comes from, but nevermind. I agree - I hate first-person view, and almost never used it in Oblivion or Morrowind (so I tended not to use ranged weapons either).
  13. Strongly agreed.
  14. Harry Potter is probably a total of three and a half good books in a series of seven, but that's only my opinion, of course. I would probably play Kingdom Hearts if there were a PC version. Disney is cute. Why isn't there a PC version?
  15. Bite me!
  16. I think Bioware's dialogue is generally good and keeps the story moving along and the characters alive, but it lacks the frequent flashes of brilliance that you get in an Obsidian game.
  17. The point about too many characters you meet being eager to tell you their life story is valid for many games - I don't know about Mass Effect as I haven't played it, but it's an issue with the genre as a whole. On the other hand, he mostly criticised the quantity of dialogue but not so much the quality.
  18. Non-plot spoiler:
  19. That Mitchell And Webb Sound was one of the funniest things on the radio this year - the Zombie Poppins sketch in particular had me in stitches. It's well worth a listen next time it comes on. The TV version is more hit-and-miss. Truly the face of evil:
  20. *sings* Gummi Bears! Bouncing here and there and everywhere High adventure that's beyond compare They are the Gummi Bears I think I would make a good Gummi Bear.
  21. That's so romantic. No wonder they started throwing stuff at the other galaxy. No-one likes a peeping tom.
  22. Judging by the Lord of the Rings movies, they don't skimp on battle scenes. It might make up half the second movie. One can only hope.
  23. He has said he wants to. Ian McKellen, I mean.
