  1. Accusing newcomers to the boards of being alts isn't a great way to welcome them, guys. @The Owner: Thanks.
  2. The C&C forum is a place to post questions and comments about computer and console games. The C&C spoilers subforum is for when those questions or comments have information that might ruin the game for someone who hasn't played it yet. If you haven't played a game, don't read a thread about it in the spoilers subforum. I hope that answers your question.
  3. Do they honestly do that? Yes. And if they don't answer because they don't like you, you have to shout "Joke!", "Boast!", "Coerce!" or "Admire!" in their face until they do like you. There's very little evidence that this works in real life.
  4. Many elderly care homes offer in-house medical services these days. I admit to remembering nothing about this game other than its famous non-existence. Is it going to be an RPG?
  5. You're right, it's not out of the question. But nevertheless, it's the police that have created a situation in which an innocent person might easily panic and fire upon them, and I don't think that's responsible policing. Yes, the house owner should also give a warning before opening fire, but most likely he hasn't practised and trained for these situations - the police (hopefully) have.
  6. If it were me, I would assume that a group of people who burst into my house weren't police, because I would assume that the police would have announced themselves. But then I wouldn't have a gun. This tactic seems curiously more suited to societies that don't encourage private ownership of guns.
  7. Wow. Apparently in the US there is actually such a thing as a no-knock warrant. According to the Wikipedia article, deaths of innocents are very rare but do happen. I'm afraid I think it's a horrendous idea - and it's clearly not being reserved for only the most extreme cases - 50,000 a year now?
  8. Indeed. Now can anyone remember what the topic was?
  9. [thread pruned] As this isn't trying to sell anything or linking to anything illegal or offensive, it's not against forum rules. So let the discussion of Meredith Salenger commence. By the way, does anyone actually know who this person is?
  10. Great.
  11. Didn't I read somewhere they were looking at expansion packs and downloadable content? I think they also mentioned a sequel. A developer interview, maybe? RPGCodex probably has a news link to it. For myself? Gabriel Knight 4, perhaps the only game less likely ever to be made than Planescape: Torment 2. :'(
  12. Yes. And then get a mouse, and then tell me if you can use them to play Mass Effect.
  13. It's a winter seasonal celebration wholly unrelated to any religious festivities that may or may not be happening in parts of the world where public non-Muslim religious observance is legal. Happy Vague Seasonal Celebration, everyone!
  14. Just a quick note to point out that Tale has very helpfully started a Witcher thread in the Spoilers subforum, so anything spoilerish should go there instead.
  15. I voted. I even remembered my password, which is impressive since I probably last used it to vote in the same thing 12 months ago and I usually can't find my keys in the morning.
  16. Whatever happened to surrounding a place and shouting "This is the police! We've got you surrounded!" like in the movies?
  17. There's a character in Quest for Glory III called Johani, and that's supposed to be an African-style setting. *wonders what this has to do with Mysteries of Westgate*
  18. C'mon, you must've killed Vrook. Everybody kills Vrook.
  19. *drums fingers impatiently* So, still no news about this?
  20. I agree, but the lure of possible new content is too powerful. Once I've played the game through as a good male and a good female, what else is there to do? Let all the 'evil' content sit there on the hard drive un-played?
  21. People have got it to work with Vista, though it seems to be rather unpredictable, with some systems running it without a hitch and others experiencing more problems. Check out the FAQ here, particularly the Microsoft patches and the Creative Alchemy Project.
  22. What's the voice acting like? I've heard people say it's bad to the point of putting them off the game entirely...
  23. My character's just finished the OC and is starting MotB now. I find I spend more time with crafting in the OC now that you can carry some equipment through to MotB. Not weapons, though.
  24. The thing is, everyone will buy (or at least rent) Fallout 3, if not to enjoy it then to look for things to mock. And so, in the end, Bethesda wins.
