Cheer up! There could be more NWN2 expansion or adventure packs, if Mysteries of Westgate is a success. Not to mention the first Planescape Trilogy mod. There are four more episodes to go of Sam & Max Season 2, and plenty more great adventure games due. Fable 2 deserves a chance - the first one had promise, at least.- What are you playing now?

Gamerhelp has produced a list of 18 genre-defining 'pinnacle' games. I'm not sure that defining a genre and being the highest achievement in that genre are quite the same thing. As a case in point, the best Adventure is Quest for Glory I. Now, I love the Quest for Glory series (I named it my favourite in this very thread), but how did it define the adventure genre when it's an adventure-RPG hybrid, and perhaps the only true adventure-RPG hybrid? I also notice that Fallout 3 is declared a 'worthy heir' to Fallout, impressive since it hasn't even been finished yet.- What are you playing now?

The female romance option in NWN2 was quite good, because you had Bishop and Casavir bickering over you the whole time but almost never saying anything directly to you. Until they spoiled it by having Casavir suddenly announce his feelings and try to seduce you. That was silly and very out of place, as was the equivalent Elanee episode. I agree that Viconia's was one of the better romance paths I've played.- What are you playing now?

I agree that they've got a long way to go before they reach their full potential, but I find the romance element of most RPGs (if present) one of the more satisfying aspects of the games. I'm just a romantic fool, I guess. Even the hinted-at, undeveloped romances of Kotor 2 were food for the imagination if nothing else.- KotoR 3: Ideas, Suggestions, Discussion, Part 24

If it's the kind of game that sucks you in slowly, then it makes sense to have a reasonably long demo. The only down-side I can see is that the file must be huge, but then, surely most of that would be the engine, and making the demo shorter wouldn't make the file a whole lot smaller?- Patronising companies
There was a virus (or worm, or whatever) that went round the net a few years ago that restarted the computer after only a minute or so of use - a message appeared saying something like 'This station will shut down in 60 seconds'... Well, my computer got infected, except that the first couple of times it happened I assumed it was just Windows Update doing its thing. They all have something to offer, though the overall quality does vary and some are too alike and recycle plotlines too closely. Everyone has their own favourite (I think Witches Abroad may be mine, though Jingo has the best moment, when )- WOW can someone help me!!!

A noble goal, and no doubt the one Al Gore intended. My friends and family got gifts and/or cards when I was home in October. At Christmas time itself, they'll have to be satisfied with an e-card, although a friend reports that an e-card site has recently been sending random cards in his name to people he doesn't know. Not the Witcher. Not yet. That's waiting until the holidays, so I can enjoy it without distractions like work and other people. For now, I'm playing NWN2 again. I need to finish my current (good) character, then go back to the evil character who got stuck in MotB because he couldn't get to the next location. Now that the patch has fixed this, he's all set to go. I'm looking forward to seeing the evil ending of MotB, which I've heard is quite neat. Certainly the evil ending of the NWN2 OC was much better than the good one.- RPG's
I usually enjoy the romance elements of RPGs, whether fully-developed or only hinted at. It's a logical consequence of games that, at their best, have very good characterisation and are long enough (at 50+ hours) for relationships to develop. - 2008 is gonna be a lame year for games.
