  1. One of the icons in the top right of the screen will bring up the party configuration screen. You can restore your missing party members here, provided you do it before you enter combat.
  2. The bugs you encounter depend largely on the type of system you have. I also experienced few problems playing the game before the patch, LS or DS. If it worked fine for you LS, I don't see why it wouldn't be the same for DS.
  3. Yawn. Sacred was a mistake, not my kind of game, although I didn't play a 'plus' version. I guess it's fine if you like lots of pointless fighting. I gave up when I realised that the main quest was really nothing more than an excuse to send you hacking through hoards of monsters at the opposite end of the map. If you draw a line joining up all the main quest destinations, does it make a symbol, like the Star of David, maybe? Or a rude word in Chinese?
  4. I've never heard of this either, but you can get Malak's armour (randomly), not that it's really worth it.
  5. Harsh, but not unfounded. On the other hand, there must be some decent storytellers at Bethesda. Maybe they've decided that the Elder Scrolls style of CRPG doesn't offer scope for their talents, and Fallout 3 is their opportunity to do something radically different. This makes good business sense, as Bethesda would benefit from expanding its repertoire a little.
  6. Well, Kotor 3 has probably been set up for another 'galaxy in the balance' deal. Since the Jedi have been scattered/killed, I would suppose it would involve the reconstruction of the order, although that may be something that has just happened, or something in which you're closely involved. Post Kotor 3, there's scope for an RPG based in the Kotor universe, but not galaxy-shattering events. That's got to be 2010 at the earliest, surely.
  7. I loved the game, enjoyed it greatly, but 'satisfied'? Not the word I would choose. All games have their weaknesses, but if the weaknesses are concentrated towards the end of the game, what is the feeling you're left with?
  8. Sounds drearily familiar. I prefer the one where you construct a mechanism that allows you to drop an egg one metre without it breaking. No, it doesn't tell you anything about the people involved. It's just another pseudo-scientific method to cover up the fact that HR really does have no idea how to test whether applicants will perform well at the job.
  9. As it's now the day after tomorrow, how did the interview go?
  10. If you sneeze, and someone says 'Bless you', you should never say 'Thank you' back, because every time you do, a fairy dies.
  11. If you are DS, you regain force points all the time. If you are LS, you don't regain force points normally, although after certain events you'll get a free refill. You can also regain force points using the force drain power, although I don't think the lowest level works. The player guide was, I think, sent to the publishers before the game was finished. There have been a number of comments on these boards about the printed guide not corresponding with the released version of the game.
  12. I prefer Balzams.
  13. Morrowind is probably the first game I ever bought that I uninstalled after only an hour or so. There were three reasons: 1. It was too brown. 2. There was a big icky bug in the distance, and I was living somewhere that had a c0ckroach problem. 3. I didn't know what to do next. However, there came a point, as so often happens, that I'd played all my favourite games to death yet again and decided I would give it another go. And it actually turned out to be a very good game, I thought. I loved the vastness and the feeling of endless possibilities, that you could wander off in any direction and you'd probably find something new and interesting. The main story of the game wasn't very original, but the background story of the world and its religions was good. The best way to start is to stop thinking 'I don't know what to do' and start thinking 'I can do pretty much anything I like'. Not quite true, of course, but it helped me to enjoy the ride.
  14. She got sick of being mistaken for a man and left in search of an androgynous planet without gender-specific pronouns.
  15. The best items come when your character is high level. There's a cheat you can exploit to level up very quickly, so , you can then spend the rest of the game high level and find lots of interesting stuff.
  16. I'm optimistic about the 'action' element. Despite the annoyance of pushing a hundred boxes around, Broken Sword 3 had a good story and some excellent dialogue. The speed-based parts were few and far between, and I imagine Dreamfall will take the same line.
  17. Dreamfall. Nothing else on the horizon, though I might give NWN2 a go.
  18. I recently replayed Laura Bow 2: The Dagger of Amon Ra. The closing (where you find out what happens to the major characters) was as fun and entertaining as TSL's wasn't.
  19. Blue. Nothing suggests goodness and nobility as much as a blue lightsaber. Which only makes it more fun when my DS Jedi uses hers to cut down the latest NPC beggar.
  20. I think HK 2 suffered a lot from the loss of the droid planet/factory. I imagine there was a lot of pressure to include him in Kotor 2 because he was such a popular character in Kotor 1 (didn't he win some award for best character?). But he seems a bit lost in Kotor 2. If Obsidian ever had a clear purpose for him, it's now on the cutting room floor.
  21. Yay, I finally saw it after going home to visit my family. Watched all four episodes, and they were excellent. It's a big shame that Christopher Ecclestone is leaving, but apparently he is signed on to do a proper regeneration, so that's good. There were a load of complaints to the BBC that one of the episodes was too scary. Doctor Who, scary? Isn't that rather the point?
  22. Chuc Mung Sinh Nhat, Anh Feargus.
  23. If an EU author creates an interesting character or race, does it immediately become fair game for any other author or does it remain the intellectual property of the original author?
  24. The very same. Have you seen Enemy at the Gates? Apparently we all have english accents... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The alternative would be phoney Russian accents, although that at least might be worth a laugh.
  25. Nearly all computer games have a Russian version. I always wondered if they were legally approved or not. They're sold openly in countries like Latvia which are bound by European Union copyright laws, which are quite strict. But if Obsidian doesn't know anything about them, maybe not. In any case, I think you'll need to go onto a Russian-language forum to get help.
