James Webb Telescope Spots Unprecedented Galaxy Rotation Pattern The reason? A hypothesis is that our universe was formed inside a rotating black hole. That's a pretty remarkable discovery if it pans out; it has been conjectured before, but this is the first actual evidence.2 points

A update or DLC should be added that lets us continue playing after we beat the game! such a good game but I hate that I can't keep playing or do side quests after the games over. Like, even if they don't change the game (like characters voicelines/etc) or anything to fit the ending - like botw, they should just let us keep playing after.1 point

Out of curiosity, which lower level wizard spells do you think scale particularly well, the damage ones? Also druid, but I only did tests on a lvl 20 multiclass wizard. The lvl 2 unique raw missile seems to be doing particulary well, and so does the lvl 1 missile simply because it cannot miss, but I'm not too happy about either the lvl 3 or lvl 4 missiles (target weird armor, and are higher level so don't get that many extra missiles) - not sure if they are actually scale up to be better than fireball/shadowflame. I guess the lvl 2 necrotic lance is also in a good spot due to double scaling, but also compete with the draining missile or the infamously good combusting wounds + miasma. Forgot to test - do wall of flame's individual hits do accuracy rolls/benefit from ring of flame? I slept on this spell, and it seems to be better than wall of force unless something is immune. Also, penetration scaling is...what it is. I still think that a blood mage multiclass with something that gives tenacious works competitively with a single class considering difficulty mods, extra sustain and penetration seems to be a huge benefit, especially if a single empowered high level ability does not solve problems (which is the case on podt upscaled++, like hardcore deadfire). At the end of the day, one big axe does the job better unless you use multihitting spells & combusting wounds, or there's enough enemies to use a shadowflame or something like that (I'm really unsure what the devs were thinking about spell penetration & its scaling, getting value out of spells requires a lot more minmaxing than weapons, especially on higher difficulties)1 point

Im surprised how much I'm enjoying avowed. It might just be my strong bias towards obsidian games. I also wonder if I had played this before KCD2 if my thoughts would have changed. Main character has a set role. Choices are pretty basic. Missions are very repetitive and yet... I am really enjoying myself. It could be that Eora is doing the heavy lifting.1 point

Yeah, if I ever want to revisit DA:I I will just use YouTube. For me there is a a rough draft of a pretty decent Dragon Age game within, but that's about it.1 point

Kanie can I give you some good advice I adopted 6-7 years ago that I had to learn because I finally started playing lots of CRPG from the 1980S onwards or games from the 1994-2007 era that I had never played before or even replays of old games. And the advice is the same You either replaying an older game because of nostalgia and fond memories or because you know it is a foundation RPG from the era that RPG became popular and you have love and deep appreciation of RPG but you also want to know the gaming journey. And then the early games often set a precedent for future games. I ended up playing many older games because of how much I enjoyed the later versions so I went back years and played the early games. This also made lore more relevant, I did this with Elder Scrolls 2, Fallout 1&2, Gothic 1&2. But the advice I learnt is you first make sure you know why you originally liked the game and you accept that there could be mechanics and designs that create unhelpful or frustrating outcomes. But its important to remember what you liked or disliked and what you think now because its strange an older game would now create such a negative view on something that originally never use to bother you. Of course its normal to become more analytical and aware of certain older designs and get annoyed by them but that cant be used to dislike the game. You focus on what is good What I always do with older games before I play them is some quick and easy research about what can be improved around older bad designs. And I always find common views on what mod you can instal to address this Then at I will look at any mod recommendations that improve the game without fundamentally changing it I have played about 25 older games over the last 8 years and I have been very fortunate that I enjoyed them and in most cases I was able to experience of what made these games so popular But I make sure I install " common sense " mods around QoL For example an older game that has no fast travel unless under some cases so you have to travel on foot on a large map and this can become annoying because it is just a waste of time1 point

Did you select both the frame and back? Because they are separate. You can have an aluminium frame but a plastic back.1 point

I just started my first ever replay of DA:I, and all I keep thinking is: how did I not remember this stupid/horrible aspect of this game from my first playthrough many years ago? There are just so many things about the game that I simply would not be willing to accept in any contemporary RPG. And somethings downright make the game *not* an RPG, such as distributing attribute points not being in the hands of the player. The only thing I seem to like about the game is its story and characters, so I've dropped it to 'casual' difficulty and am continuing with my playthrough just to enjoy my revisit of Thedas, especially given how much of a bust DA:V has turned out to be.1 point

Handsome Squidward is the wrong colour, and has hair. That is either the greatest or worst looking game ever.1 point

I appreciate 3D games where light reflects off the shiny scales of the human characters because then I know that THEY'RE SNAKE PEOPLE1 point

Right now, I'm playing Diablo IV and Control Ultimate Edition. They promote world peace and harmony much like my other hobby of ikebana. I really ought to be enlarging my mind by traipsing around medieval Bohemia instead since KCD2 is out on GOG now but no rush. That always reminds me of the story from... Thief Deadly Shadows*? about them playtesting a level with a bunch of off the street type gamers. They were told (in game) under no circumstances should they leave the party they were at. Most didn't have a clue how to progress because, of course, you were meant to ignore the guards etc and leave the party. Which lead to a load of hand holding type stuff being added because it actually was necessary. *or Dishonoured/ DXHR maybe? [from context, almost certainly was in fact Dishonoured]1 point

Honestly you can't win. If they want to be mad about whatever you do, they'll find a reason. Pretty sad existence, imo. Imagine having to be mad all the time, especially about the contents of video games when there's so many games you can play.1 point

Just like actors in real life, they're all reptilians. Game is a psy-op.0 points
