    I always thought having the sign after makes the most sense for normal usage, but apparently the reason it comes before is because if you place the sign at the beginning, and place the decimal point and the amount of cents at the end (even if it's just 00), the number can't be easily modified. If you place the sign at the end, there's nothing to prevent another number being written at the beginning (e.g. 20.00$ -> 120.00$). It's probably not quite as applicable now as it was (seeing as most everyone just usages credit/debit cards where fraudulent charges can be reversed, for the most part), though.

    From what I remember when they introduced the Euro the sign is actually supposed to be in front. Unfortunately a lot of countries that used to have their currency designation (usually not a currency symbol) after the amount didn't get that memo (or, more likely, didn't bother reading it).

     

    It annoys me to no end.

     

    Iow, it's supposed to be €50.000,00 or 50.000,00 EUR. But not 50 000,00 € ...

    I said I like standalone expansions that are separate from the base game. Truth be told, as long as it's good content, I like all of the above. I just prefer bigger standalone expansions.
