Azdeus Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 1 Civilization, in fact, grows more and more maudlin and hysterical; especially under democracy it tends to degenerate into a mere combat of crazes; the whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary. - H.L. Mencken

For I have failed in everything - spelling, arithmetic, riding, tennis, golf; dancing, singing, acting; wife, mistress, whore, friend. Even cooking. And I do not excuse myself with the usual escape of 'not trying'. I tried with all my heart. In my dreams, I am not crippled. In my dreams, I dance.
Gromnir Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 at the moment am feeling the chicago blues perhaps a bit ironic, but sweet home chicago actual predates chicago blues... but what the hell. HA! Good Fun! 3 "If there be time to expose through discussion the falsehood and fallacies, to avert the evil by the processes of education, the remedy to be applied is more speech, not enforced silence."Justice Louis Brandeis, Concurring, Whitney v. Maedhros Posted October 7, 2017 Posted October 7, 2017 (edited) The War On Drugs - Holding On Quickly becoming my favorite american band. Feels both fresh and familiar at the same time. Also, most feelgood music video I've seen in a while. (Also, how do I properly link youtube videos? Edit: Thanks!) Edited October 7, 2017 by Thingolfin
Bartimaeus Posted October 7, 2017 Posted October 7, 2017 (edited) You just post the link, and it automatically converts them for you under most circumstances (it only does 2 videos automatically per post, and it doesn't like it if you do both https and the URL shortener at once). Your link has the URL bbcode included in/overruling it, hence why it didn't automatically become an embedded video. So your link looks like [u.rl=ht.tps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-oHBkikDBg], but it should actually just look like ht.tps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-oHBkikDBg. This can be annoying to deal with if you're in the normal post editor - if you click the light switch at the top left of your post editor, it should clarify the bbcode stuff. However, the editor is currently broken (and has been for probably a couple of years now), and doesn't recognize linebreaks, making it difficult to read your longer posts. Malcador Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 Huh, never knew Ice T was into heavy metal. Why has elegance found so little following? Elegance has the disadvantage that hard work is needed to achieve it and a good education to appreciate it. - Edsger Wybe Dijkstra

Keyrock Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 (edited) I almost posted this in The Metal Thread, but I figured that this isn't what Katphood was going for. In my mind, without a shadow of a doubt, the greatest hair metal song ever. I kind of hesitate to call it hair metal, since that carries a negative connotation of a song being weaksauce, and this song is anything but weak, it rocks hard as ****. The slow section in the middle with the build toward a screaming guitar solo is amazeballs. Also, peak Tawny Kitaen Maybe the best way to put it is that this was not an actual hair metal song, but rather an awesome song that hair metal songs were pale imitations of, including latter Whitesnake songs. Labadal Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 Been listening to Fairuz and Umm Khaltoum a lot lately. One, a Lebanese songstress and the other an Egyptian songstress. They just don't make music like this anymore.

BruceVC Posted October 28, 2017 Posted October 28, 2017 Guys this song rocks !!! 1 "Abashed the devil stood and felt how awful goodness is and saw Virtue in her shape how lovely: and pined his loss” John Milton "We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.” - George Bernard Shaw "What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead" - Nelson Mandela
injurai Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 I don't normally like Kpop, but it's also not often that pop understands how to write a descent breakbeat song.
Bartimaeus Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 I saw it earlier today, and gave it about twenty seconds before I closed out. Just for you, I tried again: sadly, I still no likey. 1 Quote How I have existed fills me with horror. Orogun01 Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 I don't normally like Kpop, but it's also not often that pop understands how to write a descent breakbeat song. I just skip K-Pop and go straight to K-Porn. Same thing but I don't have to listen to horrible music. 2 I'd say the answer to that question is kind of like the answer to "who's the sucker in this poker game?"* *If you can't tell, it's you.
