Rosbjerg Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 Well they CGIed her and Peter Cushing in Rogue One, so why not in the next one. Fortune favors the bald.
Agiel Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 (edited) Or have a voice actress impersonate her over radio comms to the X-Wings, or something. I guess 2016 decided to slam the door into our collective asses as we walked into the new year. Edited December 27, 2016 by Agiel Quote “Political philosophers have often pointed out that in wartime, the citizen, the male citizen at least, loses one of his most basic rights, his right to life; and this has been true ever since the French Revolution and the invention of conscription, now an almost universally accepted principle. But these same philosophers have rarely noted that the citizen in question simultaneously loses another right, one just as basic and perhaps even more vital for his conception of himself as a civilized human being: the right not to kill.” -Jonathan Littell <<Les Bienveillantes>> Quote "The chancellor, the late chancellor, was only partly correct. Agiel Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 I'm just bracing myself for John Carpenter, Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Kurt Russell, Christopher Walken, Bill Murray, Chevy Chase, Dan Aykroyd, and Sigourney Weaver for 2017. Darkpriest Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 well... it seemed she was getting better based on the reports, must have been a smoke screen for the media so they would give them some peace... Sad to see that

teknoman2 Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 when George Michael died, i told you 2016 isn't done taking famous people yet... and we still have 4 days, enough for one more The words freedom and liberty, are diminishing the true meaning of the abstract concept they try to explain. The true nature of freedom is such, that the human mind is unable to comprehend it, so we make a cage and name it freedom in order to give a tangible meaning to what we dont understand, just as our ancestors made gods like Thor or Zeus to explain thunder. -Teknoman2- What? You thought it was a quote from some well known wise guy from the past? Stupidity leads to willful ignorance - willful ignorance leads to hope - hope leads to sex - and that is how a new generation of fools is born! We are hardcore role players... When we go to bed with a girl, we roll a D20 to see if we hit the target and a D6 to see how much penetration damage we did. Sarex Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 (edited) Very sad, another very young one. Considering the amount of drugs and alcohol she consumed, she lived a long life. Bartimaeus Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 Dammit man... I thought she was on the mend. Sad news indeed. She didn't breathe for ten minutes, according to reports when it happened. It was pretty unlikely she was coming back, RIP Quote How I have existed fills me with horror. For I have failed in everything - spelling, arithmetic, riding, tennis, golf; dancing, singing, acting; wife, mistress, whore, friend. Even cooking. And I do not excuse myself with the usual escape of 'not trying'. I tried with all my heart. In my dreams, I am not crippled. In my dreams, I dance.

Gorgon Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Well they CGIed her and Peter Cushing in Rogue One, so why not in the next one. Because it's stupid. If this trend continues how long before CGI Mark Hammil. Does he even need to be dead for that to happen. Na na na na na na ... greg358 from Darksouls 3 PVP is a CHEATER. That is all.
Blarghagh Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Plus no matter how many reviewers call it a "triumph of special effects" Peter Cushing in Rogue One was hideous and terrifying, smack dab in the middle of the uncanny valley, like one of those horror movie scenes where the creepy girl's face suddenly gets distorted in a jumpscare but then it's like that the entire time. Gave me the creeps.
Rosbjerg Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Only cause you knew I think, I had 3 friends with me and none but me noticed, but I also knew he was dead. Fortune favors the bald.
Blarghagh Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 (edited) Possibly because I'm into Special Effects too. I've seen photoreal characters that stopped being convincing when they start moving before, but even before I noticed the way he moved the first thing I noticed when he came into frame was that his skin had way too much subsurface light scattering. It gave his skin a waxy, doll-like look and especially his ears and cheekbones seemed to be glowing. https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/16/98/74/1698744cef46f09e0489e1faf06aef0a.jpg EDIT: I don't mean to disrespect the special effects people, I'm sure they moved mountains to make it look this good. I'm guessing the well-publicized reshoots screwed them over on the render times needed to make it look good. Edited December 29, 2016 by TrueNeutral
Guard Dog Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Having her in Ep 9 as a CGI construct would be very... icky for me at least. If the character of Leia cannot be written out of the story in a suitable way then re-casting is the only way to go. It sucks but there is no good options here. That is the least bad IMO. Look, it won't come as a surprise to anyone and no matter which way they go (recast, CGI, don't make Ep 9) there will be criticism.
