For me, Rise of the Tomb Raider as I thought the original to be absolutely fantastic and one of the best mechanical implementations of character progression I've ever seen, expansion pack for Pillars of Eternity so it's finally finished and I can replay it again, expansion pack for Witcher 3 as Witcher 3 is amazing, and that's just the first two months. Then there's XCOM2 and since I really, really loved XCOM: EW, I'm quite excited for that.

Torment: Tides of Numenera

This year was filled with amazing RPG releases. I do hope the next year will bring a good few as well - starting with this one.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Loved Deus Ex, loved Human Revolution, I do hope this one won't follow fate of Invisible War.

Shadow Warrior 2

Oh hell yeah. Shadow Warrior was amazing. Not nearly Wolfenstein: The New Order amazing, but still, amazing. And this one will contain coop!

Dishonored 2

Over the years, the original Dishonored became one of my favourite games of all times. And DLC for Dishonored was even better than the base game. So sure, I'm kinda excited for that - I'm just quite worried about promises of open world.

Edit: Oh right, and Dark Souls 3. I'm really excited for DS3.

I'm only jumping on the wagon with Uncharted 4 and Dark Souls 3.  And even for those i don't expect that much. That way they might turn out better than expected, along with any other game that surprises me.

Is Cyberpunk 2077 due for a 2016 release?

Side note: call it BioWare syndrome, but I'm never buying another game before I see a half dozen great reviews, and I never pre-order (last time I did was DAI, and boy that was a mistake).

I highly doubt it.

I included a "still though don't preorder" tag for the thread.  Clearly our views on the practice coincide.

Same here; and I already *only* buy games from GoG or through Humble Bundle.

I think Inxile developers have some rules not to release the 2 games in a year.  But I could be wrong.

I am curious about this:

Deus Ex, Torment, Witcher 3 expansion, and the PS4 port of Tomb Raider.  I'm also hopeful that Cyberpunk will be out (heard Q4 2016 a possibility).

I'm interested in the new Mass Effect, but mainly because my curiosity is killing me about how badly BioWare will manage to mangle existing canon/lore.  I'm also interested to see just how far it's shifted into a purely third-person shooter, with almost nil RPG elements.

Probably not too far, given that ME3 had far deeper customization options than either of its predecessors (definitely deeper than ME2, that's for sure).

Xcom is probably my biggest one for now, given that it is pretty close.  I expect to play it nonstop for a couple weeks.

Could be 2017, come to think of it.  My list drops down to just one then. ;)

I am curious about this:

This definitely has my curiosity, but when I watched that trailer several months ago I kept asking "What do you actually do in the game?  Are there puzzles?  Climbing/Platforming?  Combat?" and I couldn't shake the words "walking simulator" out of my mind.

XCOM2

Mass Effect if it's not delayed into 2017

Deus Ex

Free games updated 3/4/21

Um...let's see here...hm...maybe..the new Zelda? Honestly, I'm not even really sure about that...Skyward Sword was easily the worst main Zelda I've ever played, so I don't exactly have extremely high hopes.

Against stupidity we have no defense. Neither protests nor force can touch it. Reasoning is of no use. Facts that contradict personal prejudices can simply be disbelieved - indeed, the fool can counter by criticizing them, and if they are undeniable, they can just be pushed aside as trivial exceptions. So the fool, as distinct from the scoundrel, is completely self-satisfied. In fact, they can easily become dangerous, as it does not take much to make them aggressive. For that reason, greater caution is called for than with a malicious one. Never again will we try to persuade the stupid person with reasons, for it is senseless and dangerous.

Torment: ToN

Avadon 3: Warborn

Dark Souls 3

Deus Ex: MD

Rise of Tomb Raider PC

The Dwarves

Shardlight

The Devil's men

Silence

i want to get hyped for mass effect, but bioware really disappoint me with inquisition, i don't have too much faith in the anymore

Pillars of Eternity: The White March, part 2

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Horizon Zero Dawn (can't believe I'm the first person to mention this).

Mass Effect: Andromeda

I will mention Uncharted 4 here, but tentatively, considering the first 3 games are still gathering dust in my collection.

EDIT: I'm pretty sure Cyberpunk 2077 is supposed to be a 2017 release, but if it comes out before that, then it goes on this list too.

Mass effect, Divinity OS 2,Numenera, and possibly Cyberpunk. Oh and Stellaris.

Why did CDPR even announce Cyberpunk if they are going to announce, then release another game, and expansions for that game a year or more before they release Cyberpunk?

Pretty much just the next XCOM and PoE: TWMp2.

Did you get burned by Jade Empire too? :D

Nothing too unusual. XCOM 2, Witcher 3 expansion, Mankind Divided. I'd have put D:OS2 there but I fully expect it to not release next year, and I don't really expect Cyberpunk until a year after that. I'm taking the thread title fairly literally in that the games have to be something I'm genuinely anticipating, most are in the "not hyped, will play" category instead.
