The SNES and the N64 ruled the 90's for me for the most part. It was only in 1999 when I got to have my very own PC: a 550 mhz Pentium 3 with a matrox millenium G400 32 MB gpu, a 13 GB Quantum HDD, 128 mb of ram and a Gigabyte mainboard.

Played Nocturne, Fallout and Blood 2 on that thing. Good ol' times.

I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing "I'm an Oscar Meyer Wiene"

plus Xenonauts for free (pretty sure it's been a freebie before though) and more GOG connect games as well, supposedly.

That the sale is starting tomorrow or the next day is pretty certain as there was no weekend sale this week. Then there will be the 10 year anniversary sale...

I bought Elex and got Rime in the process, I'd call that a win. :)

Man, the kid me loved Flashback. The New Washington (was it New Washington?) part felt so huge back then.

I'm successfully sitting on my hands so far, but 'fraid I'll give in at some point and add a few new games to my stockpile of 300+. And then proceed ignoring them all and play NV and Pillars for another 300 hrs instead.

one of my very first pc games was panzer general, back on my old hp desktop, with dos 5.1 and windows 3.1

honestly, i've rarely found a game that was just as satisfying as the original pg. keep in mind i had just moved up from those bookcase games, and pen & paper rpgs at the time.

XCOM EU released with an 80% discount, tho the base price is pretty high for a 4 year old game. No linux/ mac version either (though apparently not gog's fault but the porting company's).

Just realized, this means 2077 will be releasing on GOG. Unlike the The Witchers I might get this on Gog instead. I think my love affair with Steam is finally coming to an end.

How I have existed fills me with horror. For I have failed in everything - spelling, arithmetic, riding, tennis, golf; dancing, singing, acting; wife, mistress, whore, friend. Even cooking. And I do not excuse myself with the usual escape of 'not trying'. I tried with all my heart.

In my dreams, I am not crippled. In my dreams, I dance.

i really can't stand steam, but most of my games seem to be held hostage by it... *sigh* so, i still use it anyway.

Yeah I still have a handful of games on Steam too, but only three -- Dark Souls: Prepare To Die Edition, DOOM (2016) and Resident Evil HD Remaster -- that I really care about. If those ever came to GOG I'd cancel my Steam account in a heartbeat.

As for the sale -- I got The Witcher 3 with 60% off, which got me Sunless Sea and RiME for free

Pretty much this. At least for the "newer" games, including some indies.

And if it wasn't Steam, it'd be another company's similar "service."

Or console service.

Service, service, service.
