The Sausage Thread - a ShadySands joint

I like a nice spicy sausage. I'm a big fan of chorizo but my absolute favorite is a hot pickled polish sausage.

Also, still looking for this juniper sausage I had in Estonia

PS I'm looking into taking a sausage making class

The cat lady arbitrarily shut down a thread because she fails to see the natural connection between LGBT discussions and sausages.

Unfortunate and somewhat mind-boggling even as there's so much relation between the two. And it's not like this connection isn't mainstream knowledge either. Last year a G pretending to be a T who called himself sausage won Eurovision. And just recently a bunch of big guys selling their sausages became LGBT activists in Indiana.

I think the discussion about the connection between the LGBT movement and sausages should continue, if only just to educate the cat lady.

Here's another interesting article on sausages within the LGBT community.

I used chorizo and chicken garlic sausage as my protein component in the fideos I just made.

...wait...not sure if this thread is about these types of sausages....

We don't discriminate in this thread. It's about all types of sausages.

Quote
“Political philosophers have often pointed out that in wartime, the citizen, the male citizen at least, loses one of his most basic rights, his right to life; and this has been true ever since the French Revolution and the invention of conscription, now an almost universally accepted principle. But these same philosophers have rarely noted that the citizen in question simultaneously loses another right, one just as basic and perhaps even more vital for his conception of himself as a civilized human being: the right not to kill.”

-Jonathan Littell <<Les Bienveillantes>>

"The chancellor, the late chancellor, was only partly correct. He was obsolete. But so is the State, the entity he worshipped. Any state, entity, or ideology becomes obsolete when it stockpiles the wrong weapons: when it captures territories, but not minds; when it enslaves millions, but convinces nobody. When it is naked, yet puts on armor and calls it faith, while in the Eyes of God it has no faith at all. Any state, any entity, any ideology that fails to recognize the worth, the dignity, the rights of Man...that state is obsolete."

:)

On hindsight I probably should have spent time splitting the thread up into two but my supper was starting to burn...

Was it hot dogs?

I'd say the answer to that question is kind of like the answer to "who's the sucker in this poker game?"*

Nope! Homemade sourdough round pizza with mushrooms, tomatoes and ... pepperoni. Does that count?

I love all sausages. German, British, Hungarian, Polish...you name it I eat them all

We have a well established sausage industry in South Africa so we are spoilt for choice

From my travels I am leaning towards the Eastern Europeans as having overall the best sausages like the Polish and Hungarian varieties  :geek:

Eastern Europe has the benefit of a variety of pierogis to pair with their variety of sausage.

I can't pronounce sausage properly anymore. Epic Meal Time ruined me.

I'll just come right out and say it, even though I know it's an unpopular opinion. I hate casing sausages. The meat can be good (depending on the sausage obviously) but I just can't stand casing. Between the texture and squirting juices, I just find the whole thing unpleasant.

That said, I love pretty much every variety of casing-less sausage I've ever had.

OMG! A hate filled casiphobe!! It's 2015!! Why do you still live in the dark ages!!?!?!

Halp! Halp! My sausage casings are being oppressed!

For Cereal.

It's very brave of you to admit you're a hate filled casiphobe. The first step to becoming open minded and accepting of all sausages is admitting that you have a problem.

Perhaps we should be lenient. He has in good faith admitted his transgression to us.

Agreed, we need to show understanding in this matter because he admitted he has a problem...of course empires have been destroyed for similar comments but we are more reasonable

Hmmm. Since Shady lives in Colorado when I saw the word joint in the title I thought this thread was going to be about something else.
