Question

Posted (edited)

Conducted two tests after the latest patch (.0526), with a new party/campaign.

My pc wizard (wood elf):  lvl 4, con 8, endurance 57, health 197.

Aloth, companion wizard (wood elf): lvl 4, con 10, endurance 180.

Despite my pc wizard having lower endurance and lower constitution he has a larger health pool at the same level.

I then tested edar (fighter, companion, at lvl 4):

He had 102 endurance / 569 health.

I disbanded him from the party, then reinvited him:  he had 102 endurance/509 health.

The latter stats seem more correct (only off by 1 which is probably due to rounding), since a fighters health is suppose to be 5xEndurance.  Why it's getting up to 569 I don't know.

I do buff my party members with food before tough fights, that the most likely cause.  I also have my wizards cast infuse with vital essence, but that wouldn't explain the discrepancy with the fighter.  So it's probably the food buffs not falling off with the saves.  I've tried to reproduce this though, but so far haven't been able to force it to happen....

4. Sanitarium hostility bug.

I had this, I think its because when you trigger the event where the place spawns mobs, they actually begin to fight the NPC guards...

If you get near these guards and fight the mob they are fighting with lets say, with a Wizard his "blast" ability which turns rod/scepter etc attacks into small AOE will hit the guard.. even tho its not registering and he stays friendly.

When u transition above the whole place will remember that and agro.

Dont go near the NPCs when they are fighting other mobs, your auras and stuff will trigger passive agro on them somehow and you will get faction attacked

I always closed the doors behind me whenever I passed by a previously locked door.

none of the guards ever got attacked in my game, because the enemies did not open any doors.

fwiw, I tried it 6 times and 3 of those I killed Azo before heading upstairs, and never had any aggro from anyone once I left the lower level.  Again, closing all doors behind me.

even shot an escaping prisoner before he could hit the stairs up and escape.  :)

the health thing is the most annoying bug. i've been trying to fight guls without getting bugged and i have to keep reloading over and over... it's really hard to avoid, happens constantly.

also my main character lost his racial ability (+1 weapon set), that problem isn't fixed. are devs reading this?

Expected behavior:

Whole party remains selected while looting.

good job Baladas. don't forget the bug where companions permanently gain extra spells per rest while sitting at the stronghold, due to items or talents that give bonus spells.

Don't think it's only due to Guls - I just got some serious health increases from fighting Dank Spores. Do they have a sicken effect?

And does dismissing/recruiting fix this? That would at least make it a bit more manageable to play the game "as intended" - just fix it for all but the PC, then watch PC's health and rest before it goes below the extra health and you've at least somewhat brought the game's balance a little more back into line.

The spores do have a charm spell...is it possible while under the effects of the charm spell some sort of health buff takes place then upon charm wearing off the health buff persists and doesn't turn off?

yes dissmiss+recruit fixes. i got through the guls at raedric's by keeping my main out of the fight (WAY out, their thing has long range) and then fixing the other people after.

So the player character is totally screwed if he's got the buff?

Wow... this bug is still in the game too? Such a bummer, when will I get to play without these serious bugs?

My best advice is to "forget" this game for a couple of months. Having in mind the length of the list of known issues, the game will probably not be stable until around 1.0.9.

It is really not worth wasting time or energy complaining about it until then..."forget" the game during a while, play another game while you are waiting and it will be a more enjoyable experience later on.

Yeah this game is great in concept but the bugs are just too overwhelming. I am going to put it back on the shelf and come back when/if it is ever stable.

Just like: Divine Divinity: Original Sin, Wasteland 2, and Dragon Age: Inquisition. All games I haven't been able to play yet because they are still being "fixed". Really, really pathetic and a bummer... not to mention a waste of money. (I KS'ed DD, W2 and this ... not looking good for Torment with this track record either). Shadowrun Returns took a long time too, but at least after an extra year that got that game stable enough to play.

Yes, here it is: Fixed stacking health problems with the gul's "Vomit Blood" ability. This fix should retroactively fix your saved games.

Now... how many more critical fixes are needed to finally be able to have a stable play through?

Was that patch released or is coming today? It's very confusing when they use the internal name of the patch(1.04Beta4) instead of its version! As of version 1.0.4.0538 the  health stacking issue does not seem to have been solved (at least for the old save games not sure about a new play-through).

Anyone else still experiencing this post-patch? My level 4 Paladin has over 1000 health (I'm a tank so I've been sickened or poisoned a lot)! I'm not too bothered as I'm soloing so pretty much my endurance is my health (I lose on knock out, and honestly I need per rest summons to survive a lot of fights so I'm thinking health wouldn't be a concern for this character), but otherwise this would be the kind of bug that would really irritate me in regular 6 member party play.
