HoonDing Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 (edited) Mhairi kicked the bucket after drinking the cup of hemlock but of course thereafter everyone survived. The deathtoll should have been much higher. Why make them Wardens at all, even, considering how in the first game all your party members are immune to the taint unless plot demands it. LordCrash Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 (edited) I don't even remember any characters from DA:O... No offense but that's almost impossible for someone of your intelligence, you would be insulting your gamers insight if you really can't remember one character I remember some names, but hardly their character. Only one comes to my mind is Alistair. The rest, hm,...too long ago tbh. I have played dozens of other games in the meantime. But I can remember much more NPCs from BG2 tbh although I've played that game 10 years ago or so... Also I think Bioware did a much better job with (some of) the Mass Effect characters... Nepenthe Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 I'm going to cite this thread as an example of how the romance thing gets overblown, not by Bioware, but its haters. "Haters", what, is this high school ? Overblown by their fans I'd say - who have rather serious mental issues. On an average day, I'd go with junior high. You're a cheery wee bugger, Nep. Have I ever said that? Reapercussions
HoonDing Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 So I watched that gameplay video... I had no idea wtf was going on during combat. 1 The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.

Hmh, let' see: - Blue lesbian sex - DAT ASS - Frog guy who goes "Shepard" Oh right, Wrex! - Carth v. who knows how many - That reptilian guy who is in middle of calibrations - Tattooed mentally 15 years old woman - Some assassin guy with tuberculosis - Woman with gas mask (edit: Tali!) - The scientist guy who was awesome - Ashley, I've got no idea why I remember her name but almost no one else - The cripple guy who's voice actor is in Family Guy - Another blue lesbian sex who doesn't put out - The ship AI - Couple DLC characters Did I forget any? I did really like Mass Effect 2 btw, but I still remember only three names. Edited July 11, 2014 by Slinky

Valmy Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 (edited) Mass Effect 2 was a contrived narrative disaster of a game. But yes I really liked it as well. I had a blast playing it...but then decided not to buy any more Mass Effect games. From what I have heard that turned out to be a good plan. Anyway: - Blue lesbian sex : Liara - DAT ASS : Miranda Lawson my dream bondgirl - Carth v. who knows how many : Kaidan and Jacob. I guess the hot guy is always the Carth? - That reptilian guy who is in middle of calibrations : Oh I know this! Um....Garrus! - Tattooed mentally 15 years old woman : Ah hell...erm...Subject Zero...um...yeah forgot her name...oh wait it was a man's name...Jack! There we go. - Some assassin guy with tuberculosis : Thane - The scientist guy who was awesome : Mordin. The very model of a Scientist Salarian. - The cripple guy who's voice actor is in Family Guy : Joker - Another blue lesbian sex who doesn't put out : Samara - The ship AI : EDI - Couple DLC characters : The Aussie badass guy...er....um....Zaeed I think or something like that The Japanese thief lady Kasumi Oh and Grunt the ersatz Wrex. Morinth or psychopathic blue lesbian sex. I think that's it. Edited July 11, 2014 by Valmy 1

From what I have heard that turned out to be a good plan. ME3 isn't a bad pick up if you get it for <10$ if you ask me, it just the ending that grinds my gears pretty badly. Talking about missed opportunities. But enough of that. Is Claudia Black back in DA3?
Valmy Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 If I find it for that little I would pick it up. It is not on Steam or Gog though which is annoying. And Claudia Black is in DA3.
Guest Slinky Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 So day one purchase for Tale confirmed Isn't DA3 going to be Origin only too? That's the biggest obstacle for me, kinda stupid to install the program for one game. Steam is enough for me and my opinion of even that has gone down by the year.

I think you are incorrect, can you provide some links that discuss this? Zoraptor Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Every party-based RPG desperately needs a murder companion in their sleep option Yep. In PST I would have dispensed with the emo chick with daddy issues and an identity crisis, the emo demon with an identity crisis, the emo gith who was a creepy stalker and had an identity crisis, the emo burning guy who was just a guy who was on fire but at least didn't really have an identity crisis possibly because there was no rain in Sigil but small mercies, the emo robot (!) with an identity crisis, the emo suit of armour who you could actually kill with an identity crisis. And they're all co dependent on TNO, to boot. In MotB I would have dispensed with the bald emo chick with parental issues and an identity crisis, the faaaabulous emo bear with an identity crisis and issues with being a parental figure, the goth guy with an identity crisis and parental issues, the emo celestial with parental issues and an identity crisis and the burning hungry guy who was just a hungry guy but at least seemed relatively comfortable in his identity oh god he manifested as various entities including a child there's identity and parental issues there as well burn it with fire. In Kotor2 I would have killed everyone who was emo and had an identity crisis. Barring returning Bioware characters that leaves... Kreia, maybe? Though she may or may not have had issues with her identity of being a parent, so I guess she has to go out the airlock too. 2

It's a joke...Cassandra is too masculine...some even give her moustache...and she bash castle gate in DA:I demo... oh the jaw.... Considering that a jawline that could sink the Titanic is the hallmark of BW female characters, I would say that isn't indicative of anything... except quality. 1 I'd say the answer to that question is kind of like the answer to "who's the sucker in this poker game?"* *If you can't tell, it's you.
Bos_hybrid Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 I'd settle for option to kill her, preferably in a way she actually stays dead Every party-based RPG desperately needs a murder companion in their sleep option. Now that is a feature that I can get behind. It should be implemented in DA:I. But I doubt bio will let us off their beloved creations. I don't even remember any characters from DA:O... After the character tidbits of DA:I companions I think I'll be fondly recalling not just the DA cast, but the DA2 cast too. Hey, if you're going to murder companions just because they're creepy and screwed up, then you'd end up facing the king of shadows alone with the animated suit of armor. When a god knows how old druid elf, claims to have been watching you for years(including watching you bathe), it does not endear you to them, in fact it makes you very, very nervous. To be honest though, Qara would probably be the only one on the murder list... Oh wait Grobnar and Casivir, oh and the 'know githzerai', especially her.

Okay I see your point 1 "Abashed the devil stood and felt how awful goodness is and saw Virtue in her shape how lovely: and pined his loss” John Milton "We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.” - George Bernard Shaw "What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. Shadeling Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 I have to apologize in advance for just skimming through the first four pages and skipping the rest. I just gotta say that whenever EA is involved, I now no longer speculate, I just wait for the ****estorm, dueto EA's typical craptastic interference, to die down before I finally consider buying the title for bargain bin prices, or pass all together. Recently some poor deluded soul on the Star Citizen forums started a thread about the continuance of Mass Effect after the epic fail of ME3 and he just keeps pondering and speculating about how the franchise could go now and actually putting an immense amount of throught and consideration for something that was long dead and all the while I'm trying to get it to sink in that there is no more Bioware, there is no more Mass Effect, it's all just EA's typical apathetic cash grab with a franchise label and that's it. If DA: Inquisition is actually good, and not just passably decent (I mean seriously, when has that ever happened after EA has taken over?), I'll consider selling my first born whom I love very much. But I only say that because it's EA we're talking about.
Nepenthe Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 (edited) Confirmation bias in 3... 2... 1... That said, I am expecting passably decent, I'm not sure what the last game I'd rate above that was...
