C2B Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 (edited) He seems willing http://www.formspring.me/GZiets Give us any number Obsidian. ANY. (For those not in the know. George is the Lead writer of Mask of the Betrayer. Considered to be Obsidian's best written game. Sadly he left after a project got cancelled this year) Edited September 16, 2012 by C2B 28
Shadowstrider Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 I met George once (doubt he would remember me), seemed like a smart guy. Would be a welcome addition afaik.
Tale Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 He was lead on the fabulous Mask of the Betrayer expansion. That's enough for me to put him on my favorite designer lists. 2 "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."
Starwars Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 That would be awesome. Also, a bit morbid still to have people up as stretch goals somehow... Morbid... but AWESOME! Listen to my home-made recordings (some original songs, some not): http://www.youtube.c...low=grid&view=0
Labadal Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 I'd love it if they let him work on the project. We already know he's talented, so it couldn't hurt.
Flouride Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Get Ziets involved or the bunny gets it. Hate the living, love the dead.
Troller Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Mask of the Betrayer made NWN 2 into an awesome game 3
fixedpoint Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 The only stretch goals I could come up with when it became apparent that success is inevitable, were: * OS X and Linux ports; * bring George Ziets back to Obsidian. So, yes, please. Fargo already made MCA a stretch goal for WL2, so it's not unheard of. Totally need more excellent writers because so many good ideas require disproportionate amount of writing. The universe is probably littered with the one-planet graves of cultures which made the sensible economic decision that there's no good reason to go into space--each discovered, studied, and remembered by the ones who made the irrational decision. [xkcd]
Pop Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 So on board with this you don't even know Join me, and we shall make Production Beards a reality!
Dermi Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 I might even consider upping my pledge for that (and live to the next payday on plasters from the wall ).
ShadowScythe Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 (edited) I asked the first question (If Obsidian gets enough funding will you finally return to the team?) so of course I'm on board with this. MotB is one of my favourite RPGs ever and George Ziets' lore especially the archon mythology (which seemed to have Hindhuism influences, am I right DS3 devs?) in Dungeon Siege 3 was one of the more interesting elements of that game for me. George Ziets, Tim Cain, Josh Sawyer and Chris Avellone would be an amazing cRPG dream team. Edited September 16, 2012 by ShadowScythe
Vatdim Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 The lead writer of my favourite RPG ever? Bring him in!
WorstUsernameEver Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 I'm up for it. Make it happen Obsidian.
Nonek Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 I am not a stretch goal, I am a free man! But seriously, sounds like a worthy notion. Quite an experience to live in misery isn't it? That's what it is to be married with children.I've seen things you people can't even imagine. Pearly Kings glittering on the Elephant and Castle, Morris Men dancing 'til the last light of midsummer. I watched Druid fires burning in the ruins of Stonehenge, and Yorkshiremen gurning for prizes. All these things will be lost in time, like alopecia on a skinhead. Time for tiffin. Tea for the teapot!
MechanicalLemon Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 I'm down with this. MotB was absolutely brilliant. While I was never really interested in the DS universe, I have to credit George for his work on DS3. I actually found myself invested in DS3's world and eager to read up on the lore. Bring him in, Obsidian!
Leferd Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 George is cool. "Things are funny...are comedic, because they mix the real with the absurd." - Buzz Aldrin."P-O-T-A-T-O-E" - Dan Quayle
Hoverdog Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 George for the President! [intelligence] I'm fighting the Good Fight with my posts.
lobotomy42 Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 I would immediately double my pledge for Ziets!
the proctophantasmist Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 An other avid fan of George's work here. How about Leonard Boyarsky? Still at Blizzard? I thought what he did on VtM:B was great. 2
C2B Posted September 16, 2012 Author Posted September 16, 2012 An other avid fan of George's work here. How about Leonard Boyarsky? Still at Blizzard? I thought what he did on VtM:B was great. Yup. Should have done a poll. Realizing just now. -.-
Auxilius Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Well, what can I add? For Mr. Ziets to participate in the writing of this game would basically nail it as the better RPG ever written. I hope George is reading this and feel warm and fuzzy inside.
