Cantousent
Yep, I'm one of chumps who bought into the game. I couldn't see putting in tons of money, but I did my part. I don't even care about the little collectibles. I just want it to be a great game. It's about 35 grand over the target amount with another month to go. When my wife sees what I did, I'm probably dead, but I don't mind as long as she resurrects me when the game arrives. Hurlshort
I explained it to my wife and she was pretty understanding, I went for the collector's edition. She knows I spend a good amount of time chatting on those forums, so it's not exactly every day I drop that kind of money. This is a fairly unique developer. Cantousent
Yeah, same here. It's the most expensive collector's edition I've ever purchased. lol I don't care about that, really. I had them take off my forum VIP moniker that I used to have, so that's not a big deal. Really, it's just the idea, kind of like you're saying, Hurlie, of being in on something, actually putting your money where your mouth is and taking a part in it. I truly relish the prospect of discussing, even hotly debating, the things they'll do with the game. Maybe even having some tiny influence in some small way on the design. I'm more excited about this project than I have been for a long long time. By the time it's over, maybe more than any ever. Gorth
They met their target in the first 24 hours. They better get that marketing machine up and running and start letting bits and pieces, details, concept art etc. trickle through, not to mention a lot of stretch goals to keep the pledging up even if it's only going to be a fraction of the initial pledging for that long stretch between the start and the end. “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. Gorth
Well, I've only supported 3 so far... Wasteland 2, Conquistador and Project Eternity. I thought about Shadowrun, but it wasn't something I was familiar with or could relate to. “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. Spider
Depends on your tastes I suppose. I pledged to Wasteland 2 (turn based rpg with squad combat) and Grim Dawn (action RPG from the makers of Titan Quest). I'm also interested in Shadowrun Returns. Those are the most appealing to me personally.
Humanoid
Split is generally between the RPGs and the adventures - personally have done so far: Eternity - large pledge (of course) Wasteland 2 - large pledge Shadowrun Returns - moderate pledge The Banner Saga - minor pledge Dead State - minor pledge Expedition: Conquistador - minor pledge Jane Jensen's Pinkerton Road studio - large pledge Broken Sword 5 - large pledge Tex Murphy: Project Fedora - minor pledge Spaceventure (Space Quest) - minor pledge Leisure Suit Larry remake - minor pledge To my eternal regret, I missed out on making a pledge to Tim Schafer's Double Fine adventure as I was flip-flopping too much over this new fangled Kickstarter thing in the beginning. Upcoming is Lori and Corey Cole's (of Quest for Glory fame) new project L I E S T R O N GL I V E W R O N G
Hurlshort
I've only put in on a few projects, and Eternity was my first big pledge. Shadowrun Returns looks like a good game, and so I pledged for that. Spaceventure (Guys from Andromeda) is more of a nostalgic pledge. If they run off to live on a beach somewhere with the money, I'll be ok because they gave me some great memories as a kid. I'll pledge Quest for Glory's team as well. Malcador
Only given $265 to Jensen's kickstarter. Should probably pitch in for the Broken Sword one, as well. Why has elegance found so little following? Humanoid
It got a bit lost amidst all the excitement surrounding Eternity (which I am guilty of myself - probably would have pledged more to this if it didn't have competition ), but the Broken Sword Kickstarter has closed, having met all the stretch goals except the Beneath a Steel Sky one (but fairly confident it will come around eventually anyway). Final tally on the Kickstarter page of ~770k, but comfortably enough past the goal with ~820k overall once Paypal pledges are accounted for. Gorth
I just downloaded the beta version of 'Conquistador' (which I backed with $100, Wasteland 2 got $265 for those who are curious). Looking forward to install and try out when getting home from work today. ShadySands
I've done quite a few kickstarters by now and I usually go in pretty low (the minimum for the game plus a couple of extra bucks) and I've only gone over 100 for PE, the 2 Shadowrun games, and Dead State. I'd like to go much higher than my current 263 for PE but I don't think my wife is too keen on the idea Here's the full list Project Eternity Planetary Annihilation Expeditions: Conquistador STAR COMMAND Dead State Make Leisure Suit Larry come again!
