Well, I certainly wait till it not longer uses said DRM sceme. I hope for the edition with all DLC that later gets out and I have to get since Bio *really* doesn't want my first day sale.

I agree that that is such a stupid idiotic pathetic garbage hateful retarded scumbag evil satanic nazi like term ever created. At least top 5.

Also, I wouldn't be able to install DA2 on my laptop and take it somewheres without internet. These things all count against getting the game, it's just too much of a hassle.

What were the other things? Even this sounds like a pretty extreme scenario. :ermm:

I mean, I certainly have to recharge my battery after every few hours of gaming, and I don't think I've been in a place that has electricity but no option for accessing the internet in, well, this millennium.

Not that I have a laptop that comes even close to DA2s minspec. Congratulations to you for having one, though. :p

I went to such a place with my family last year. I don't currently have a fancy mobile I can use as a modem, and 3/4 G coverage is still pretty lousy out in the sticks. I want to be able to use my games and programs with absolutely no hassle from the DRM. I consider phoning home once a week a hassle, and I'm gonna pass as a result.

Demo on 2/22. I admit I'm curious to see how that turned out. http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/23462/Dragon...-February-22nd/

The demo gives players access to the game's full prologue which will shed some light on the game's protagonist, Hawke, and allow for tinkering with the game's three character classes. From the prologue players get to see the city of Kirkwall and interact with some key players from the full game

Well, I got Dragon Age, Dragon Age:Origins, on PC and PS3, just got the Ultimate Editions for both as well.

I got Mass Effect for the PC...had to hack that one...as I DO NOT AGREE WITH DRM...and almost didn't get Mass Effect 2 because of Mass Effects DRM. I don't like having to hack my own games...aka...my gaming PC isn't on the Internet. I did get Mass Effect 2 though (great game)...but DRM is a BAD thing.

From what I hear, this means they'll lose at least a sale to me for Dragon Age 2 on PC. I'll buy it for the PS3 though.

In that light, DRM killed the PC market. 5 years ago at most Walmarts you could have a PC game shelf that was one to two shelves. Three years ago you typically at least had one to 3/4's of a shelf (shelf meaning the entire row there) devoted to PC games. These days...you're lucky if you have 1/4 shelf if that at a typical Walmart or department store.

You can literally see the shrinking market...and I don't buy how big the d/l market for PC games is. In a recent study it showed how offbase sellers were in relation to the consumer...less then 50% wanted something as disposable...they wanted something that they could hold and share with friends.

For example...I'm more likely to download applications for the Ipod touch/Ipad than I am to download a gamer's game for the PC that I have to pay for. I'm more likely to download ebooks even...and I'd say I'm one of those that would have answered favorably on the survey (if I had been asked) in relation to downloads.

DRM killed the PC market and relative sales...NOT PIRATES. Pirates were never buying the game to begin with. When you shut off and scare off your own customers...that's when you lose sales and kill the market.

You might want to check the EULAs on those products you're buyinglicensing for your iProduct before you start praising them in this particular context. Otherwise, nice job stringing together some loosely connected anecdotes and pretending that the eventual conclusion has any kind of evidence behind it.

As to the thread topic, the Demo is good news, as I'm in pretty firm "wait and see" territory with regard to buying DA2. I'll still probably wait for the post-patch, post-DLC, post-discount version, but it could win me over if I really enjoy the demo. The DRM scheme is a non-factor in my particular situation.

"No Dragon Age 2 review from me, at least not for PCG magazine. Was a big fan of the first one, but have concerns about this one..."

I'm curious as to what he's hinting at (has he actually played it or is he simply skeptical?), but it could mean anything as it stands.

Maybe EA hasn't been buying enough ad space? :)

More likely he simply wasn't given the review. Assuming he's a staff writer.

There was a DA:O demo? Can't remember. I only played Journeys.

I was talking about the character creator. Could've made it clearer, but didn't think it was necessary in the context.

Keep logic and common sense out of this! It's clearly a ploy to rip us off in some way! o:)
