sorophx
well, there's a chance they learned something from Obsidian or they can hire a bunch of Obs's designers to do some heavy lifting EDIT: hey, you're right, the European Commonwealth! it could be a great game without attaching the name Fallout to it, would make a great prequel. mkreku
$110 of those $300 million were from me! Don't forget that! I should have a say in Obsidian's next project. Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
Lexx
well, there's a chance they learned something from Obsidian They couldn't learn from Morrowind, they didn't learned anything from making Oblivion and they learned nothing from the original Fallout games, while making Fallout 3. I seriously have doubts they learned much from Obsidian now. "only when you no-life you can exist forever, because what does not live cannot die." Tale
I think Shimmering Isles shows that Bethesda learned a lot from Morrowind. They just didn't apply all of that to Oblivion. Labadal
I am loving every minute of New Vegas, but I do hope to see an original Obsidian IP or AP2. With BioWare trying to streamline DA2, I wouldn't mind if Obsidian made a fantasy RPG alongside Dungeon Siege III. Focus on story+group based combat and I would be screaming like a teenage girl at a boyband concert. Or make a new game with the D&D rules. Lexx
Heh, as silly as it sounds, I would be pretty interested in how a Gothic game by Obsidian would turn out. I mean, regardless of all buggyness Obsidian proved in various examples already, that they are able to improve on existing games. So I kind of would like to see their turn on a Gothic game, even though I most likely would see it as heresy too. But just how it would turn out... sorophx
I think DSIII will be as close as they can get to a 'Gothic' game Walsingham said: I was struggling to understand ths until I noticed you are from Finland. Lexx
Why? DSx never was any kind of close to a Gothic game at all. "only when you no-life you can exist forever, because what does not live cannot die."
sorophx
that's my ppoint. I have a ... WorstUsernameEver
How about an original IP, fantasy or otherwise? I want Obsidian to be successful as much as anyone else, but damn, I want them to make their own games, not just work on other people's games and franchises. Wrath of Dagon
Their original games don't exactly have a stellar history. sorophx
I always considered Obsids' games their own, just look at NWN or KOTOR, their versions differ greatly. actually, I really hope Obsidian will never produce an original game again Walsingham said: I was struggling to understand ths until I noticed you are from Finland. Kaftan Barlast
I do hope to see... ..AP2 I dont know how close Alpha Protocol came to bancrupting Obsidian, but I think its pretty safe to say they will never go there again. sorophx
I found AP better than most MGS games, of course those are awful save for the first one, so that's not saying much about AP still, it had it's moments. the problem is, Obsidian doesn't know how to make action or stealth games. Irrelevant
I Love Metal Gear. I enjoy the little touches in each game. -In any case, I think Obsidian has gotten another chance in Dungeon Siege 3 to make a game that really stands out. I think that they should treat it like Alpha Protocol.
