Tale Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Stop toying with my emotions! *weeps uncontrollably* "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."
Morgoth Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 American film magazine Production Weekly has recently published this synopsis about Prometheus: Rain makes everything better.
Monte Carlo Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Am I alone in wondering why on earth Gemma Arterton keeps getting offered such great roles?
Orogun01 Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Am I alone in wondering why on earth Gemma Arterton keeps getting offered such great roles? Yes, the rest of us know that it's because she is hot. I'd say the answer to that question is kind of like the answer to "who's the sucker in this poker game?"* *If you can't tell, it's you.
Walsingham Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 *googles Gemma Arterton* Hmm... looks like some sort of frozen brunette concentrate. *thinks* Perhaps you could use her to make some kind of awesome nookie napalm? Mix her up with Christina Hendricks and some polystyrene packing. "It wasn't lies. It was just... bull****"." -Elwood Blues tarna's dead; processing... complete. Disappointed by Universe. RIP Hades/Sand/etc. Here's hoping your next alt has a harp.
Raithe Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 I think the whole really.. St.Trinians remake helped push her to the general consciousness.. The guilty pleasure type of thing. "Cuius testiculos habeas, habeas cardia et cerebellum."
Nepenthe Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 I think the whole really.. St.Trinians remake helped push her to the general consciousness.. Yeah, unlike Quantum of Solace, which nobody saw. You're a cheery wee bugger, Nep. Have I ever said that? Reapercussions
Raithe Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 I think the whole really.. St.Trinians remake helped push her to the general consciousness.. Yeah, unlike Quantum of Solace, which nobody saw. Eh, how many of the Bond Girls who get 5 minutes of screen time do you honestly remember after the film ends? Sure, the main female ones who are there for most of the film get the big shove of publicity but the "brief moment of flirtyness, a roll in the sack, and then killed by the bad guys" rarely stick to memory or public awareness. Compared to how many people (well, guys) who like the whole "naughty schoolgirl" approach of St.Trinians.. "Cuius testiculos habeas, habeas cardia et cerebellum."
Guest The Architect Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 The Scent Of A Woman. Absolutely brilliant.
Walsingham Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 The Scent Of A Woman. Absolutely brilliant. I have to say I quite liked it too. But it is a trashy movie, really. Sort of a male Thelma and Louise. "It wasn't lies. It was just... bull****"." -Elwood Blues tarna's dead; processing... complete. Disappointed by Universe. Nepenthe Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 King's Speech. Good movie. I was probably the youngest member of the audience by far, and certainly the only one in my twenties (even if only for another 24 hours or so at the time it started) You're a cheery wee bugger, Nep. Have I ever said that? Reapercussions
Orogun01 Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 The Scent Of A Woman. Absolutely brilliant. I have to say I quite liked it too. But it is a trashy movie, really. BicycleOfDeath Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 I watched the 'teen-horror-comedy' Transylmania. I found it entertaining. I'm not sure if I liked it, but I was able to laugh and watch the entire thing ... if that makes sense. Stand Your Convictions and You Will Walk Alone.
Tigranes Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 King's Speech is good, people should go see it. The main plot is a pretty generic Platonic Buddies Overcome Life's Obstacles, but somehow in everything they did a very sympathetic yet uncompromising rendition of the royal setting came through well. Also loved the Angry Dwarf Churchill. Monte Carlo Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 If you spliced Al's final going-bolo-at-the-posh-school speech with Jack Nicholson's Nathan Jessup rant at the end of "A Few Good Men" then you might cause a sort of testosterone-fuelled tear in the spatial fabric of reality or something.
Guest The Architect Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 I have to say I quite liked it too. But it is a trashy movie, really. Sort of a male Thelma and Louise. Trashy? TRASHY!? Your face is trashy! Get a clue old boy. Even Pacino admits it's cornball. Take it up with HIM, convict ...erm... boy. Hahaha. Is that so? In that case, I stand corrected.... but then again he was blind in that movie, so he's hardly the best judge on the matter. If you spliced Al's final going-bolo-at-the-posh-school speech with Jack Nicholson's Nathan Jessup rant at the end of "A Few Good Men" then you might cause a sort of testosterone-fuelled tear in the spatial fabric of reality or something. Hahaha. I think Glengarry Glen Ross already did that, though.

Raithe Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 (edited) Tucker & Dale vs Evil... Alan Tudyk and Tyler Labine as two happy go-lucky hillbillies on vacation at their "fixer-upper fishing cabin in the woods".. and the group of preppy college kids who mistake them for in-bred, chainsaw wielding killers. Every time the kids try to "defend" themselves from the oblivious hillbillies various accidents happen to kill one of the kids off in a bizarely cliche manner. It actually manages to make that jokey premise last without dragging and while its a touch silly, it's never actually stupid. It's one that I see becoming a cult classic. I'm definitely going to grab the dvd for my library when I can. Edited February 13, 2011 by Raithe "Cuius testiculos habeas, habeas cardia et cerebellum."
Gfted1 Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Took my wife to see Just Go With It over the weekend. Surprisingly, it had several laugh out loud moments and Jennifer Aniston can still rock a bikini. "I'm your biggest fan, Ill follow you until you love me, Papa"
