What are you playing now?

I played in a permadeath NWN world for awhile, and paladins tended to die more than any other character. If you are playing in character, a paladin really should be putting themselves in danger way more often than the average character. They are supposed to stick up for everyone and not back down off their moral high horse. It was always awesome to watch an entire party run away while the paladin stood his ground against bad odds.

Agreed; but that shouldn't stop paladins from having the ability to retreat either. Sometimes it is the better part of valour to 'run away'. No sane paladin (or being) will fighting 100s of enemies they have no chance of beating if nothing can come of it but their death.

They would if they are holding back the enemy to save a village or give time to their comrades to escape. However once the party escapes then its a good time to run.

Read my post again. Espically the last part of the last sentence. Then all will become clear. Thank you.

P.S. I should be getting my computer fixed within a week so I should be able to play NWN2 again for the first time in months. Maybe a break is what i needed to get back into it.

"Are you being bigoted against my personal game-playing prejudices?"

Yes. :p

"Next thing you'll be telling me is that I'm not "allowed" to dislike playing as evil, or perhaps that I "must" like a particular NPC, or even that I "have to" enjoy compulsory companions, like Neeshka"

You are allowed to dislike anything. I just feel your reasons for disliking certain classes is silly. 'Ethical' reasons based on RL is silly. Who talked about specifc companions at all? I surely didn't.

"Sorry if it pissed off the general populace. I'll try to submit to the particular social and ethical foundations of this board...."

Why? Post how you like. You aren't hurtin' anyone. I was just wondering why you felt the need to do a 'fake' swear. Heh.

P.S. Neeshka is one of the worst characters I've ever seen...

Irony and sarcasmn travels poorly on messageboards. :D . As I said. I really dont like pallies. Ive used the spelling of said profanity on other boards because they too had filters. Hence the "fake" swearing.

Nah, My whole deal with pallies is that if they aren't played with a certain Monty Phython'esque ironical distance they thend to get really pompous to listen to. They tend to want to be the moral compas of the world (in game and out), which usually ends up with me trying to plot their downfall or getting themselves killed in some obscure way.

Im not trying to tell people how to play. My playstyle would prolly not be the cup of tea of most people.

I usually "seem" to be playing as LG anyway... cept my true alignment is usually LE. I just don't want some halfwit twit telling me I can't act or say something because it goes against the nature of "goodness" or "fair". We are supposed to work together to have fun, not kill fun by exploring some moral or ethical principle every single gaming session. :p

Meata, what are you waiting for, why don't you buy a new PC now? Get an Asus Blitz mobo already!

No need to dive in yet, as there aren't any DX10 games ... and every month gives me a discount on existing tech, and the opportunity for some new stuff (like mobos, etc, even if not the headlining GPU) to be superceded with better kit (and existing kit to be discounted even further).

Also, I have some other RL considerations to deal with at the moment.

Hence why I said the "next thing you'll be telling me" and not "ALSO YOU ARE TELLING ME". :p

I dislike the idea that a cleric has "divine" magic, and that it is easier to get and (almost) as powerful as arcane magic, and they don't have to even memorise a spell beforehand. If you have to categorise my dislike, you would do worse than classify it as a magic-user's disdain for the cleric. :) (But I still dislike clerics as a general rule, anyway. So there.)

Ooo.. Sneaky word play. I like. :p That's what I get for speed reading. :)

Eays to get? Yeah, it's easier to get and keep magic where the power comes from kisisng the butt of an all powerful and all seeing god a sopposed to learning something and not having it ever taken away. It's a lot easier to get access to arcane magic than devine magic.

And, yes, priests have to memorize spells befor ehand. Who gave you the idea they didn't? You are confusing clerics with sorcerors unless you mean that priests don't have to 'learfn' spells like a mage though they 'learn' them in a different way.

Nothing wrong with dislking clerics; but it should be a logical dislike...

I bought a DS and I picked up Puzzle Quest and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. So far I've only played Puzzle Quest, and I knew from the PC demo that it was excellent. I'm pretty surprised at how awesome the DS is. I regret choosing a PSP years ago, and now I'm glad I made the switch.

Buying the DS was a bit funny. I went to an EB because I had about $70 in store credit, but they only had pink versions. So I went across the street to Target and bought a black DS, and used the $70 on the two games and a carrying case. Oddly enough, Target had about 20 pink versions as well. I'm guessing someone made a mistake in thinking how well that would sell. I would buy Red, Yellow, even Purple...but pink? I don't think there are even many gamer girls that want a pink handheld.

I went for pink because there was a special offer on at the time. :D

I really need to get more games for my DS, I don't play it enough at all...I keep looking at Phoenix Wright...maybe I'll pick that one up soon.

I just arrived in Neverwinter and am wondering where to get new party members, since the ones I have right now are anything but compatible.

I'm playing ICO. Yorda is so helpless. Aww, it's so cute watching these two run around holding hands.

I just purchased Secrets of the Ark (Broken Sword: Angel of Darkness to non-Americans). I've spent way too much on games in the past week and a half.

How is it then?

I'll let you know when I've played enough to render a verdict.

5 hours in and I've had enough laughs to remember why I liked the last one. Puzzles are significantly challenging. But, some are in the class of old adventure games where it's obscure objects, combinations, and pixel hunts.
