I am no closer to finding the answer, however, it has become apparent that contentment is certainly a realizable goal. I find these results to be adequate, if not pleasing. Unfortunately, connection is another subject entirely. When one has sufficiently examined the mind and their emotional constructs, connection can be easily imitated. I think one ought to look at northern Europe, where in some places, IIRC, they're having quite the babie squeeze, no? Why is that? We can't just say it's nature for people to **** and pop out the chillids all around the world, because it's certainly not the case. What would make China more like scandinavia? 3 major things: - Inexpensive and convenient access to all forms of immediate contraception, abortion if necessary. - Long-term economic development / recovery. - Promotion and advancement of the rights of women on a large scale, including civil rights and contraceptive rights. O' course, such things might not take root so very easily, especially #3. Which is why we've got cultural imperialism. It's like imperialism, but hip. We aren't really churning out babies in a higher frequency (unfortunately) - longer education is the main reason why these numbers drop and the winter here in the northern hemipshere is the main reason why it's higher! Blank Posted May 9, 2007 Share Posted May 9, 2007 Social Security isn't a problem to me because I've grown up hearing about how I will not get anything from it and how I'll actually have to pay for everyone older than me who was promised money. I could care less, as long as we get rid of the crappy system as soon as possible and let people be financially responsible on their own.
