mrchallenge
call me crazy, but I can never bring myself to play KOTOR or KOTOR II as a darksider, my conscience keeps on getting in the way. I know it's just a game and being a Sith lord is cool and alll, but I just hate being mean to people you know? Anybody else have this problem? Uldin
Yea i had that feeling when first time playin dark side and then not even halfway i quit and started a new game (LS)... but then I tried it out again and it was really fun coz you are kinda more powerful in DS... But poor job in facial texture in DS transition... If your face is gonna be flaky and that obvious, why didnt they implement sith masks or sumthin. Darth Kavar
Ehm... you ppl have probably never played Blood then j/k I don't give a damn about what I do to ppl in a game. Nobody gets hurt in real life so I don't care. If I had played the game with a sense of 'what I'd do in real life' then I'd probably end up ussually at 65 in the 0DS-LS100 meter. OK I admit that I'm really roleplaying the game at it and laughing when someone gets hurt but it's only a game. DS is fun (w00t) Too bad DS in K2 is much more limited to NihilusII style ("Now you die!... whoever you are!") because of no gray options but I could talk about that all day and none who could bring that into K2 would listen anyway. Tel Aviv
Yes, of course. I would think most people would to some degree. Except the odd hormone fueled teen that is. Puberty leads to the dark side, making them bitter and distrustful of the world. "Curse you god, for making me this way!" and so on.

Plano Skywalker
I have a hard time with it. I did it once just to see what the differences were. As I have stated on other threads, part of the problem with DS is that there is not enough of a "non-bully" path. If you want DS Mastery in these games, your PC ends up being little more than a psychopathic megalomaniac. That should be available, don't get me wrong, but they need to allow us to play a smooth manipulator DSer, as well.
Plano Skywalker
I also think that the facial distortions are just plain clownish. At the very least, that should be optional, IMO.
wannabealoser125
Yea, to the point that I couldnt play DS in KotOR. I had played LS 3 times and got to the point of how people actually feel like your team are there. I had to go to DS on the Unknown world. In KotOR II it didnt bug me at all... I never felt a kind of connection with anyone in KotOR II I guess its a result of being rushed
metadigital
The only issue with playing DS is not how I feel about being "bad", it is how I feel acting brainless, because all the DS dialogue options make the PC sound like a psychopath without a second neuron to bang into their first. ShadowPaladin V1.0
Occasionally I do. In KOTOR playing DS never made that much sense until the point when you found out your identity. Not likely that the Jedi council are going to program you with an evil identity now is it :D. And while Carth and Bastila deserve a spanking for using you Mission and Zalbaar were never in on it so no particular reason to do them in. I never play any game to be a particular side. I play my character and select the options they would select rather than selecting the option that always pushes me furth along one path or another. I have to agree with Volourn. Bioware is pretty much dead now. Deals like this kills development studios. 478327[/snapback]

Just people you control with extortion -- whether you threaten their baby's life, or their elderly mother's bad knee. It's all about control. A Light Side (Good) character will ask for help. A Dark Side (evil) character will force others to assist. That's why the bad guys always lose their party when the scenario goes pear shape; no-one wanted to be there in the first place. SteveThaiBinh
I feel uncomfortable at times, but I don't let it spoil the game. I've paid for the game, so why not enjoy it to the full? edu11
Anybody else have this problem? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No. On the contrary, I could never play LS. I understand your problem, though. I never play any game to be a particular side. I play my character and select the options they would select rather than selecting the option that always pushes me furth along one path or another. This is the correct approach IMHO.
Flipside
I really had a hard time playing DS I just don't like to be evil(even in games) "I'm pretty sure if they took all the porn off the internet there'd only be one site left, and it'd be called 'Bring back the porn'" - Perry Cox
Meresin
I can't play as dark side at all. I always feel bad about hurting NPCs in games, as illogical as that is. I've gotta admit, though...I've been sorely tempted to go through KOTOR as dark side just so I can try to kill Carth.

Zulu 86
I have big problems playing DS, but if there's a thug about, I'll probably slaughter him rather than be all placid and everything. Having said that, I have just force pursuaded two thugs to take a hike over the guard rails on Nar Shaddaa - and I felt really bad about it afterwards
