Roman Farraday Posted January 5, 2005 Posted January 5, 2005 Whenever I select my party, I like to have one member for muscle and one for skills. I haven't researched, but I think Mira and Bao-Dur are pretty similar in terms of skills. Who would you rather have with you? Which character would you rather influence and develop?
Plutospawn Posted January 5, 2005 Posted January 5, 2005 Bao-Dur seems to be tougher, more vitality etc, but Mira seems to have a lot more to say than the Iridonian. If you can live without the chatter, I'd go with Bao-Dur, but I like to stick Mira in my party.
Ever-Flowing Incantation Posted January 5, 2005 Posted January 5, 2005 I like Miras background and character better but I'd go with Baodur. Theres no job he cant handle and not to mention hes one of the coolest looking characters with horns and the electro-arm and the facial tattoos(if your DS). I still havent trained either of them to become Jedi yet but Im looking forward to seeing what kind of Jedi they make.

Before either one of them becomes a Jedi he is a total monster with his unarmed fighting due to all the special damage bonuses he gets with his special arm. Once they both become jedi its kind of a toss, but Bao-Dur can be much better because he becomes a Jedi Guardian and Mira is a Jedi Sentinel. Eventually he has more feats, more HP and probably more skills than she does (although this depends on how many tech specialist levels he managed to get before he became a jedi). His armor restrictions however are kind of a pain, but I haven't found that it matters too much since he can use master energy resistance even when wearing heavy armor. Plus its a snap for him to whip up shields at the workbench. Oh and how can you forget his remote? Bao-Dur and HK-47 make quite a team, especially if you get HK-47 some weapons with a high critical threat range (and add keen modifiers, I think I ended up giving him a rifle that did 50 pts of damage and had a threat range of 15 to 20!), his assasination feats do massive damage on critical hits and if you've advanced enough Remote will heal him if he takes damage. I mean, I like Mira but her wrist rockets are just not quite that cool. She would win the beauty contest hands down however
Kor Qel Droma Posted January 5, 2005 Posted January 5, 2005 Mira was okay, but Bao Dur seemed to spend a lot more time in my party. I tried tossing grenades through her wrist launcher and it was quite funny, especially on moving targets. Both made decent Jedi but it seemed to me like Bao Dur was a little more combat friendly. I was light side and I remember one scene where Mira hadn't been a jedi for more than a day and she was already defending the light side like her life depended on it. It was more interesting than Bao Durs' "never mind" comments. I say screw em both and take Handmaiden and Visas at the same time. Jaguars4ever is still alive. No word of a lie.
The Swedish Dark Lord III Posted January 5, 2005 Posted January 5, 2005 "I tried tossing grenades through her wrist launcher and it was quite funny, especially on moving targets." Is it any different than regular throws? Bao-Dur seems much more cool. And, if you decide to have him with you you dont need to have a giant INT beacuse Bao has all those skills...
LordNihilis Posted January 5, 2005 Posted January 5, 2005 Bao-Dur is Iridorian King, Mira is a piece of meat. "There is no running or hiding, Jedi. Your times up." -Boba Fett-
Roman Farraday Posted January 5, 2005 Author Posted January 5, 2005 Bao-Dur is Iridorian King, Mira is a piece of meat. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No he's not. He's an Iridonian Zabrak. Iridorians are yellow-clad guys from the original KOTOR known for their battle fever and blood lust. Sorry to be a stickler, but the Iridorian's my favorite character from KOTOR.
Force Reaper Posted January 5, 2005 Posted January 5, 2005 I hated that stupid Zabrak, his voice is annoying.
steelfiredragon Posted January 5, 2005 Posted January 5, 2005 i liked the handmaiden...... but really i don't have the game yet. so you want muscle...... now that depends, do you want melea muscle or ranged muscle???? Strength through Mercy Head Torturor of the Cult of the Anti-gnome
Ever-Flowing Incantation Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 How the hell can you have ranged muscle?? Squeeze that trigger UH. YEAH THATS IT!
DoctorKiara Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 Bao-Dur. Mira will end up wiping out your entire supply of medpacs only three fourths into the certain mission she's on. At least Bao-Dur doesn't do that.
Jedi_Knight Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 I mean, I like Mira but her wrist rockets are just not quite that cool. She would win the beauty contest hands down however <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not if you thre Visas Mar in the mix.....
grphiw Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 Personally I prefer Mira because she's better with ranged weaponry. I have all the skills, so I never need to find a public workbench to bring other characters to: I do it all myself on the Ebon hawk. Bao-Dur has to work at using blasters; Mira inherently uses them. And I like to have one melee fighter, a technical jedi (me) and a ranged fighter as a team to keep flexibility. Mira obviously fits the bill as the ranged fighter.

Sorry , I guess its not that amusing but I'm entertained pretty easily Jaguars4ever is still alive. No word of a lie.

Guun Fett Truss Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 I prefer Mira , mostly for her abilty to walk through mines.
Doright Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 I agree. The mines trick is very very helpful at a few points in the game.
jaguars4ever Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 Bao-dur's arm is bad ass. It destoys Force Fields AND enemies personal shields. Plus he's proobably the best unarmed fighter in the game - he gets energy bonuses to damage plus knockbacks!
Triggaaar Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 I preferred Mira. For melee fighting, I'd use my PC, and Visas or the Handmaiden, so it would be nice to have someone in the background firing pistols, and Mira's good at that. Also handy that she can walk through mines. I wasn't too bothered about the skills of anyone, as there's nowhere you'll get stuck. I recoved every mine I came across (NPC or PC), but found it was a waiste of my time. FInished the game with over 100,000 credits, over 100 lifepacks, and an equally stupid quantity of mines. I'm also not a fan of the energy shields you get, as I can't be bothered to fire them up (I would have used them if needed, but the fighting is quite a bit easier than in KOTOR). Side point: How did you get Mira and Bao-dur to become Jedis? Whenever I went to chat to Bao-dur, my only option was to say to him 'Nerver Mind'. And there when I talked to Miras about training, she wasn't interested. Did it matter whether you were Male or female PC?
envida Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 I went from peragus/telos to nar shadaa, by the time I finished Nar Shadaa Atton, Bao-Dur and Mira where jedis, pretty riddicilous how easy it is! In one conversation you can usually make them a jedi. The same with diciple. Only handmaiden do you have to fight a few times before you could make her a jedi. Obsidian kinda went overboard with everything they did in this game.....
psycopath.02 Posted January 9, 2005 Posted January 9, 2005 I have a party with two melee characters and a ranged dude. Typically with two ranged, I haven't hade enough melee to keep dudes with swords away from my dudes with blasters. That said; My JWM. Visas. And Mira OR Atton. I like Mira a little more for power, but I think that what atton say's is typically funnier. However, with Atton as a Jedi he is far better at fighting. (The best blasters money can buy+force redirection makes an excellent character.) As a side note, After level 12, who uses medpacs? You should have enough healing in your party to not need the pacs.

That's the reason he can't wear robes? Personally, i liked Mira way better though her age cracks can get a bit ...
