Chris Avellone Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 /Begin Romance Thread Romances are a little different in Kotor2, I just wanted to warn you guys. We provided more romance options in K2 (you can choose who you want to romance, and sometimes the romance problems don
Nur Ab Sal Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Thanks for the info! (and I thought I'm the only one who has cynical approach toward love) HERMOCRATES: Nur Ab Sal was one such king. He it was, say the wise men of Egypt, who first put men in the colossus, making many freaks of nature at times when the celestial spheres were well aligned. SOCRATES: This I doubt. We are hearing a child's tale.
Ameorn Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Now i'm gonna cry. This is so good that i can't wait untill february... Man... Anyway thanks for the info Chris!! You guys really, trully rock!! :D
DarthDoGooder Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Okay, so quick question: Could any of these "jealousy wars" cause someone to leave the party? Interesting. Im beginning to wonder just how manipulative I can be..... EDIT: And another: Can you get two people to rival each other for your love?
Sarjahurmaaja. Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 " [...] but I feel that not only is the game darker than Feargus 9/30 -- NEVER FORGET!
Rosbjerg Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 maybe I should stop reading these ramblings .. I've never been so hyped about a game before :D Fortune favors the bald.
213374U Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Cool. Looks like they are taking a similar approach in the romance system to that of BGII. Now if only the K2 romances are not as corny as those in BGII, we'll be in for some outstanding character interaction. - When he is best, he is a little worse than a man, and when he is worst, he is little better than a beast.
Jad'en Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 This game is gonna kick ass... it will define CRPG's in a way never before thought of Well done Obsidian and thanks for letting us the info Chris
Darth_Gandalf Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Yes, it sounds excellent. After all, KOTOR's romance only culminated in a solitary kiss with Bastila, so it's not as if anything illicit was demanded. The character interaction is the most entertaining portion if you ask me. "You shall not pass!"
DarthDoGooder Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Only slightly related, but: I always liked it when two people from the party would argue in the middle of the street when you least expected it. Maybe this jealousy thing will do that too.
Jedi Master D Murda Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Jealousy wars?! That's great!! (w00t) Can't wait for this game in... 5 days... it's killing me
DSLuke Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Jealousy wars?! That's great!! (w00t) Can't wait for this game in... 5 days... it's killing me <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Screw you! you 're a monster for mentioning 5 days. PS This surely seems to be an interesting game! And by the light of the moon He prays for their beauty not doom
Rosbjerg Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Jealousy wars?! That's great!! (w00t) Can't wait for this game in... 5 days... it's killing me <{POST_SNAPBACK}> not if I will first! then I will seize your identity and play TSL .. muhahah .. Fortune favors the bald.
DarthDoGooder Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Okay lads, we have a winner for the "most aggravating answer to a simple question yet" award! I Pm'ed Chris with my questions: Okay, so quick question(or two): Could any of these "jealousy wars" cause someone to leave the party? Can you get two people to rival each other for your love? Just curious! Whether you can answer them or not, thanks! Can't answer, but try it and see. Now, I will spend days working solely on this and ignoring all other parts of the game just to find out..... Sometimes OCD can turn into a problem.... Thanks anyways, Chris!
Laozi Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 /Begin Romance Thread What People laugh when I say that I think a jellyfish is one of the most beautiful things in the world. What they don't understand is, I mean a jellyfish with long, blond hair.
KOTORFanactic Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Im still out of thanking puns. Thx Mr.Avellone. Very interesting, even the romances are darker, that should prove interesting, for I am, the BRAIN. No thats not right NARF. Good God I am going insane, I need KOTOR2 now (for PC) 2 FAT LADIES Now I have S O D (Shout out disease) whats next pnemonia *coughcough* yep.
SilverSun Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Thanks for the info. Though I'm curious, does this mean they're all very dark romances? With rather bitter sweet ends to them? Or is how they turn out ,one way or the other, more in the player's hands?
Elladan Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Thanks Chris, that's some great info. Romances are bound to happen when you have men and women together for such a long time, and I am glad that there is more than one option to go with. There it is again: Replayability.
Planar Jedi Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Indeed interesting. Maybe if it had a new graphic engine and new game mechanics(if it was totally original) it could be one of the best GAMES of this decade There is hope beyond hope
DSLuke Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Thanks Chris, that's some great info. Romances are bound to happen when you have men and women together for such a long time, and I am glad that there is more than one option to go with. There it is again: Replayability. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Is there any change that in the end we'll be bored of playing the game so many times?? And by the light of the moon He prays for their beauty not doom
GhostofAnakin Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Another interesting tidbit. This game's really shaping up. "Console exclusive is such a harsh word." - Darque"Console exclusive is two words Darque." - Nartwak (in response to Darque's observation)
KOTORFanactic Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 There it is again: Replayability. Yeah that seems to be the big issue adressed in the game, and I mean BIG. They seem to be making everything extended to make it more playable, the decisions at the beginning of the game, the romances, etc. No complaints. With plenty of romance choices, that is yet another reason for me to get a game. WHen will I stop getting reasons you ask? NEVER!?!?!?!?!?!?! MUWAHHAHAHAHAHA!?!?!?!?!
Barzarel Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Anychance of running multi romances like in NWN: HOTU where you could end with both Aribeth and Naphylia or something like that can never remember her name. And does charisma have any affect on romance at all?
DarthDoGooder Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Indeed interesting. Maybe if it had a new graphic engine and new game mechanics(if it was totally original) it could be one of the best GAMES of this decade <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Could be? Could be? It was, is and forever shall be!
