Ok, but Starcraft is a strategy game. Why does it need so many years in development? 2030? Are they waiting another couple years to start working on the game?

As said, this isn't an RTS. Starcraft 2 had about 3 years from announcement until release I think. Granted they did carve it up into 3 games. But I figured they showed something as Blizzard fans always get overeager to know a series will have a release - so they can then say it sucks and stick with the release from the 90s. Diablo 5 has people upset that they killed D4 so soon, funnily enough.

Why has elegance found so little following? Elegance has the disadvantage that hard work is needed to achieve it and a good education to appreciate it. - Edsger Wybe Dijkstra

Oh.

Is there crafting? p

I honestly have no clue what it is. All I can find is "open-word shooter". Is it singleplayer? Planetside-like? Do I even care, if it is not RTS? I don't, at least until I see something I would actually want to play.

That they call it simply "Starcraft" is more worrying to me. I didn't expect Blizzard to actually make Starcraft3, but if they reboot the franchise using it's original branding, that means to me they don't even foresee an RTS sequel as a very distant possibility. Or maybe the game is in such early stages that they don't even know what to call it yet.

I was wondering about it. I thought Diablo4 did fairly well. The question was: was it too live-servicey, or not live-servicey enough?
