Keyrock
@Sarex Fair enough, but at least they changed the picture enough that without a side by side I don't automatically think Hugh Jackman. The Angelina Jolie picture is so obvious. bugarup
Bioware might have stopped those portraits from getting into the game, but they definitely liked the idea and made it into tradition, because quite a few of their characters are modeled after celebs. Like, aforesaid Miranda (though I'd sue if I were that actress, because Miranda's more a fusion between her and Shrek), also default dude Shepard, Andromeda's both Ryders and I think Ashley and Kaidan's prototypes are models. Keyrock
Way back in the day I played a game called Sentinel Worlds 1: Future Magic. Here are some of the available portraits: They didn't even try to change Sigourney Weaver and Arnold Schwarzenegger. As an aside, this may be my finest thread derailing ever. Keyrock
I finished Zero Time Dilemma. This is the game that answers the question "What if Hideo Kojima made a Saw movie as a video game?" Pros: * Well written non-liner narrative * Not afraid to deliver a brutal Bas Rutten liver shot, metaphorically speaking * Great puzzle variety * Overall good puzzle design, including fragment-spanning puzzles Cons: * Game didn't make me a sandwitch Conclusion: Spike Chunsoft makes niche games. Things happen in their games that may be too much for some people. I get why mainstream games won't go there, I raally do. Still, I'm really glad someone makes games like this. I would love Sean Carroll to play this game so that he could pick it apart. Ophiuchus
I've been enjoying the hell out of Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen the last few weeks. BruceVC
I am still playing Morrowind and I am loving it, I played this game in 2008 the first time but this time I am using Mods and playing it with more RPG experience in these types of games I am currently on the Third Trial of the Nerevarine Prophecies. I dont understand the criticism towards Elder Scroll games that all quests are shallow and lack quality writing. Yes their are some simple side quests like " deliver shirts to merchant " or " kill brigand " but the entire primary quest around Dagoth Ur and the prophecies is engrossing and deep Also the lore contained in the hundreds of books is very interesting if you enjoy understanding the history in any gaming world The combat could be better but I think the level and skill advancement is a good way of progressing, the more you train in certain skills the better you get so you are encouraged to explore and utilize skills . The magic system offers a myriad of different and exciting types of choices like Enchanting and Conjuration so no complaints their And I appreciate and enjoy how the economy works and how you always need to find money to sustain your adventurous pursuits like buying spells, upgrades to weapons and potions And then their is the size of the game world and how you can just explore anywhere and anything and find new things like crypts, tombs and random NPCS that you can interact with . This is true Sandbox, here is a map of the gaming world just to illustrate this point. Note this map is like Google Maps and you can scroll down to specific features http://mwmap.uesp.net/ Edited May 17, 2021 by BruceVC "Abashed the devil stood and felt how awful goodness is and saw Virtue in her shape how lovely: and pined his loss” John Milton "We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.” - George Bernard Shaw "What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived.
