No idea. Will wait and see as I'm not in a hurry.

Why arent you in a hurry? In SA we have also mishandled the procurement of the vaccines ....we literally only this month and late December started negotiating with global pharmaceutical companies so naturally we at back of a large queue of countries

And the virus is spreading exponentially in SA and to make things worse we have a deeply flawed and inconsistent public sector hospitals so you find for about the last 15 years some public sector hospitals are almost dysfunctional ..here is an example

https://www.timeslive.co.za/news/south-africa/2020-06-08-what-i-saw-there-was-shocking-union-on-hospital-treating-covid-19-patients/

The only viable solution to stopping the virus in SA is the vaccine so when I hear the good news that other countries, like Serbia, have access to something that is literally life changing, in regards to the virus spread , like numerous vaccines I am surprised you wouldnt be in a rush to take it  and get your life to return to normal ?

birx is taking a considerable amount o' heat for not quitting. am thinking that is a red herring.

peter navarro once admitted it were his job to come up with factual arguments to support trump's intuition. the trump administration wanted all their experts to follow peter navarro's path.

while fauci were effective marginalized early in the pandemic 'cause he disagreed public with the administration, birx continued to relevant to the covid-19 taskforce. am not sure if birx saved any lives by staying within earshot of pence and meadows, but no doubt that were part o' her calculus. in the month previous to the election she were tireless traveling and coordinating with state leadership. she were trying to make a difference and perhaps she was. unfortunate for her, given how hyper polarized and partisan is american politics at the moment (relative speaking,) she made the mistake of appearing to choose the wrong side. no doubt birx saw herself as choosing to help the american people, but for too many, the failure to correct the disinformation were seen as equal complicit as providing bad information.

am kinda ambivalent about birx. is unfortunate, but given a lifetime o' service to country, when am reflecting on birx, we inevitable see her squirming silent as trump blathers on 'bout disinfectant and uv light.

took birx decades to create an unimpeachable reputation. reality is it required less than a minute o' inaction to gut her credibility. yeah, in the following days after corporal bone spurs opined 'bout the wonderful possibilities o' injecting disinfectant into the human body, birx maybe coulda' fixed what were broken, but she didn't.

dunno. am not suggesting birx deserves better from the public or the biden admin, but am disappointed by the waste o' such a valuable resource during a time o' crisis.

The asbestos baby powder lads are coming out with a vaccine that is DNA-based and only requires a single dose. Early trials suggest an efficacy of 90%, so comparable to the others. It's currently in stage 3 testing.

How Does Johnson & Johnson’s Single-Dose COVID-19 Vaccine Work?

No word on whether it contains a microchip.

am certain there has been an explanation 'bout the microchip. am not curious enough to do a search, but we cannot help but wonder what good (or bad) could a solitary microchip capable o' being injected via a small bore syringe affect? is just a chip, yes? if is a blood stream thing, wouldn't you p00p the thing out in no time anyways? unless this is some kinda sooper science with self replicating nano tech, am not certain exact what one expects from an injected microchip. if bill gates has such advanced paradigm altering tech, then chances are he has already secret taken over the world rendering the plan to inject people with chips unnecessary overkill.

the mass microchip injection conspiracy theory has us baffled.

HA! Good Fun!

The concept of a vaccine containing a microchip does seem a bit of a lunatic conspiracy. However, I happen to think we aren't far from the availability of robotic technology in your blood stream that can monitor your health and, later on, even repair health issues. The conspiracy gangs are sure to go ape-sh*t crazy at that point.

According to my brother-in-law who holds a PhD in nanotechnology (and works at Robert Bosch GmbH) we are still far, far away from that - at least the monitoring and repairing part.

Eh, it's based on the very real microchipping that is done to pets. The more fringe aspects like 'mind control' are obviously impossible, but a RFID microchip is not just possible but there would be a lot of people in power who would absolutely love to force everyone to have one, if they thought they could get away with it. That's also one of the reasons why there's a decent overlap between antivaxxers and cell phone conspiracies* because the easiest way to get the RFID signals would be... cell towers. Obviously there are other... problems with the whole idea, but fundamentally the idea of injecting a tracker/ microchip is far from impossible or even implausible.

*well, the main one isn't a conspiracy though it does indicate why you don't really need to microchip people: the vast majority of people happily carry a tracker around with them wherever they go be cause they can call their friends and check facebook on it whenever they like.

I once worked on a RFID project for navigating in big gas-fired power plants.

You need big coils to induce enough power into the passive chip in order for it so send its number (and that's all an RFID does) with enough range. That range was about 1 meter. You can use active RFIDs which have a longer range - but those would require a battery. The range is also determined by the size of the RFID antenna. If you look at cheap RFID stickers in shops you'll see that "printed" spiral. That's quite visible and yet the range is very short.

The coils you sometimes see at both sides of shop doors that will sound an alarm if you try to carry a tagged item outside: those coils will induce power into the passive RFID so it can send its number. If that number isn't cleared the alarm will sound.

That's why pets' subcutaneous RFID can only be activated by a rel. big coil that you hold right over the chip.
The needle used for chipping pets is huge compared to a needle you do vaccinations with. Those RFIDs are rel. big as well. Try to inject something like that into human muscle tissue... ouch. Subcutaneous chips wouldn't be good because you would be able to see and feel it.

I don't believe there is any passive RFID that can be activated and read by cell phone towers. But that project was some time ago... so maybe some cool new RFID tech was invented that I don't know about. But even if that would be possible: you'd only get a number. All that effort to just get a number and maybe build some movement profile with it?

And yes, exactly:
Nowadays everybody has something like a cell phone, tablet, smartwatch etc. which is sending a ton of information via cell phone towers and emits a lot of information via Wifi and Bluetooth for example even if you are not connected to anything. In that project we could create a unique fingerprint and movement profile that was accurate to the meter just by analyzing some emitted cell phone signals - and that was 10 years ago or so. Seamless surveillance is already possible - why would anybody go through great lengths in order to plant a dumb RFID when everybody is already wearing the perfect bugging device with them already - voluntarily? If pets could carry smartphones... ;)

I mean these people fearing they might be getting tagged with RFID-vaccines are the same that do selfies in Nancy Pelosi's office and putting them online...  🤷‍♂️

Ah, but that's what the 5g is for- it's no coincidence that we have 5g rollout and an 'epidemic' requiring everyone get a vaccine at the same time...

All the longest lasting conspiracy theories have an aspect of the scientific about them as that's a great way to recruit more followers, and because even if you don't believe the conspiracy you cannot conclusively prove that, say, injecting RFIDs wouldn't work. Indeed, the 'beauty' of it is that you either have to lie about RFID injections being impossible or admit that they are; and either approach ends up reinforcing the conspiracy theorist's position.

RFID injections are possible. They just don't make sense. Like most conspiracy theories. So that fits guess.

Yeah 5G... what about chemtrails? Poor things - all alone and forgotten... ;)

@Boeroer

conspiracy theory thrives in the absence o' evidence. conspiracy theory nutters demand that you prove impossibility and see no problem with such reasoning. sure, explain how an unpowered microchip small enough to be injected via a vaccine syringe is gonna have any practical use for the Legion of Evil should be needing proof from those promoting the conspiracy theory, but the tinfoil hat brigade will inevitably turn on you and demand you disprove the possibility o' tech advances or magic or whatnot.

is not possible to convince these folks.

New CDC director said Biden administration is struggling with lack of vaccine data

“One of the biggest problems right now is I can't tell you how much vaccine we have, and if I can't tell it to you then I can't tell it to the governors and I can't tell it to the state health officials," Dr. Rochelle Walensky told "Fox News Sunday."

we would like to say this news is a surprise.

HA! Good Fun!

It shouldn't be a surprise, it happens with annual flu jabs sometimes and happened extensively when it came to the big PPE rush back in March. Bunch of countries had expired PPE, mislaid or other phantom PPE, not fit for purpose PPE, stockpiles that simply didn't meet what was claimed, and plain old distribution problems. And that's for stuff with years long best befores and no requirement for being kept at a specific temperature potentially including dry ice level freezing until use. It would be amazing if there weren't administrative problems.

Reasoning of such aside, when you have credit cards, smartphones, etc. which do not require a microchip to know everything about you (ever had that odd feeling that when you talk about something near your phone with android, you get some change on your display of adds powered by google adds?), its not impossible tech wise with the new tech roll out. I just do not see a real benefit for the cost. Why would I ever be bothered to track joe the geek or bunny the pothead?

You are much better at 'controling' population by making it fragmented and divided wtih no real common values, stupid on average, egocentric and individualistic, and gamifying the life (followers, likes, etc. ) where low IQ behavior is rewarded more than the high one, and you have followers of stupid believing they are right, because there are a lot of them, so they have to be right (confirmation bias)  - that's a whole different topic though, so lets stick to the vaccines and COVID.

That said, (trade?) wars over vaccines! When?!

They complain about the First world nations monopolizing the vaccines, but there are some issues with that. Namely, the production rate and the delivery. They will need to ramp up production significantly in order to get enough shots in arms. Plus the initial batch have strict temperature requirements that will be hard to satisfy in many parts of the world. It may require something like the J&J vaccine with multiple production sites before we can start en masse injections.

As it is, I don't feel too guilty about the First World hogging the vaccine. Without First World resources, expertise, and investment, a vaccine wouldn't have been ready for 2-3 years. Being the early beneficiaries also encourages investment in new vaccination technologies, which ultimately benefits everybody.

The trickle down theory for healthcare works exactly as well as the trickle down theory for economics.

The mRNA vaccines will never scale up to worldwide levels and are intrinsically too expensive for poorer countries- a 'normal' vaccine very basically requires a big fermenter like for brewing beer, mRNA ones require specialist equipment. 40USD for a vaccine course, with vaccines kept at -70C in, say, India? Even the cheaper/ less stringent Moderna version is still way too expensive. The only viable options for poorer countries are the more orthodox types- AZOxford/ Sputnik/ Sinovac.

That's probably not the reason why South Africa etc are making complaints though. Under medical emergency provisions normal patent and licensing provisions can be set aside and medicines produced without explicit approval from the IP owners; they're legally establishing that there isn't enough and the situation won't change in a reasonable timeframe. Once that is done they can simply make vaccines themselves via compulsory licensing.

There's no perfect economic system... yet. We keep switching between the two general forms we know, only to rediscover their individual flaws. So it goes.
