"might be time for some folks to be more concerned with the possibility o' trump refusing to accept the integrity o' the november election. "

Might be time time to remind folks folks what happened last time Trump floated the possibility of refusing to accept the integrity of the November election... his opponents STILL haven't accepted the results, and claimed it was 'hacked' by Russians through internet spam. This after claiming that anyone who claim that the US election could be  hacked or 'stolen' were 'traitors'. L0L

As for postponing the election, that is nonsense. Just more anti freedom by a government.  Total garbage.

fyi, 3 u.s. code § 2: “whenever any State has held an election for the purpose of choosing electors, and has failed to make a choice on the day prescribed by law, the electors may be appointed on a subsequent day in such a manner as the legislature of such State may direct.”

all trump needs do is convince a few red states to go along with his mail-in ballot conspiracy nonsense. sure, is no more honest than claims that some identifiable and noteworthy aspect o' the protesters in portland is genuine attempting to bring 'bout the downfall of the United States of America, but reality not matter if you get the right partisan folks to play along with the charade.

vol is being vol. complain 'bout the election is not anything remote similar to genuine obstruction o' the results. say, "i got skrewed," is not what people are worried 'bout. sure, is petty and we expect such from folks such as trump and clinton, but actual interference with the election itself and peaceful transfer o' power after such an election is the fear.

Kidding right? dems have been trying to overturn the election results for nearly the last 4 years. 😛

Trump is a punk. The election should be held on the same day it always is, virus be damned. And, it should follow the same rules and guidelines it has - just through in social distancing  and since most places have the mask rule (whether people like it or not). That's all the changes you need. One could make the arghument to have in person voting be done over 3 days saince voting will be slower but anything more than that is garbage. Nor do I care whole is being anti freedome and democracy.

democracy should be pushed hard during a crisis not weaken. Too bad no government believes that.

Just ask our Kanadian gov't led by PM Blackface. LMAO

What Trump needs is someone to suggest the elections be suspended and he be given emergency powers until after the crisis has passed. But, who would do this?

I don't feel sorry for people who break the law by enterting the coutnry illegal. When an Amerikan breaks the law they go to prison. Why are illegals above the law? If the laws are so unjust, why didn't the Dems change them when they had all the power? there is nothing 'nazish' about what ICE as an organization does. However, BLM/Antifa *are* nazish organizations that enjoy murdering blacks. EVIL.

And, my fellow Kanadians are hypocrites since we are cheer our gov't every time they arrest, assault, and murder Amerikans who 'illegally' enter our country but we shake our fingers at the US for enforcing their own laws - espciially Amerikan immigration laws are rather tame compared to other countries - including and especially the South/Central Amerika countries. 'cause entering the country illegal is a civil offense and not criminal. we don't send people to prison, citizens or otherwise, for civil offenses.

Civilization, in fact, grows more and more maudlin and hysterical; especially under democracy it tends to degenerate into a mere combat of crazes; the whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary. - H.L. "'cause entering the country illegal is a civil offense and not criminal. we don't send people to prison, citizens or otherwise, for civil offenses."

That's weird. I've seen citizens murdered by police for 'civil offenses'. Like not wearing a COVID19 mask. LMAO

And, people have been arrested for unpaid parking tickets, and other 'minor' civil offenses. Don't lie.

But, I agree. they shouldn't be placed in prison. that is wrong. theys hould be picked up and dropped off at the border.

And, again, people who enter the country illegal are inprisoned in my country. So, you agree that US's illegal immigration/entry police is softer than Kanada? Kanada will arrest you and inprison you if you enter Kanada illegal. Not to mention the hefty fines. LMAO

Again, as a lawyer, if you expect citizens to follow the laws, you should expect the same from people who enter your country - legal or illegal. I mean, by definition, illegal immigration is illegal. L0L

What do you expect ICE to do? Nothing? Their job is about making sure people enter the country legally. It makes no sense for them not to arrest those who break that law.   Give them a $5 ticket and let them go free which emans they would still be breaking the law?

Take them to the border, drop them off, tell them to  go through proper channels like the vast majority do.

arrested is not prison. the rest o' your post is nonsense, as usual. those who are in the country illegal are arrested frequently, just like your traffic ticket situation. no special treatment for illegals.

edit:

is possible vol isn't the only person confused. sure, his rant 'bout murdering cops is complete irrelevant, but no doubt more than one person wonders why illegal entry into the US is civil/petty and not criminal for purposes o' potential prison.

amendment vi

in all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the state and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the assistance of counsel for his defense.

sixth amendment applies to non citizens.

as backed up is the immigration courts, with waits o' sometimes years in a few jurisdictions, imagine the charlie fox scenario if you need give everybody a jury trial and legal representation.

if you believe the illegals is gaming the system, you couldn't be more wrong.

The Thousands of Children Who Go to Immigration Court Alone

not just kids.

'cause is not criminal trial with criminal trial protections, those seeking asylum is not granted real protections and is often given what amounts to a sham trial.

HA! Good Fun!

ps the last Two presidential administrations has been abominable and arguable inhumane when dealing with the immigration crisis.  the trump admin has been orders o' magnitude worse than obama, but the previous President would not be comfortable talking 'bout his immigration record. the obama doj, just one example, argued it were appropriate to use solitary confinement to punish mothers who went on a hunger strike in response to mistreatment o' themselves and their children while being detained on immigration issues. obama's doj argued the moms were inciting disobedience and as were civil, they didn't have criminal rights, so...

New Zealand took in a refugee from the US* last week, though he'd got here before covid. Caused a mild scandal because he was here at the invite of an MP, and had promised he'd obey his temporary visa and not try for refugee status here (instead, it got fast tracked approval of course).

Not sure Volo if has thought his maths through fully anyway; if 99% of countries are vastly worse than the US that means there are a grand total of two countries better than the US.

*ok, technically he came from Iran originally, but he had refugee status in the US and traded up.

Actually, unlike BLM/Antifa/Nazis/Trumps/SJWs, I believe in science/math. Its why I believe evolution exists, religion is a joke, COVID19 is not a hoax, abortion is killing human babies not 'aborting fetuses', math isn't racist (like SJWs/BLM/Antifa),  children are better off with two parent families not single parent families, I'm pro porn, the police are not the biggest threat to black people (or anyone as the facts back that up).

BLM/Antifa/Nazis/Trumps/SJWs/Dems/Repubs are ALL against math and science. That is mathematical truthz.

Immigration law is a mess and changes with every administration. The idea that people fleeing abject poverty and violence need to be better at understanding immigrarion law is ridiculous. Also where are you dropping them off, exactly?

Maybe you can load them into trains as you send them off, Volo. That doesn't sound anything like nazism.

I would rather us just be good people and take in everybody. Open borders, decent programs to help transition. It isn't even as selfless or naive as it sounds, as most economist agree that immigration as a whole is a long term plus.

Surprisingly, this is a libertarian policy, and easily the one I agree with the most.

How 'bout send them home. You know full well if I went to the US illegally, you and others would want me thrown out of the country no questions asked if not outright killed. Heck, my fellow Kanadians want Amerikans who sneak into our country locked upo for life or murdered out right.

How 'bout they try to fix their hom countries instead of trying to turn a new country into their old failed state.

Immigrants are awesome. But,  why should they not follow the law like everyone else?

But, hey, a cops kills someone who didn't wear a mask that is a-ok. But, someone sneaks into the country illegally while others actually follow the legal process is absolutely fine.

Notice how nbody cares about other countries - including my own - that have much worse draconian measures to deal with in terms of (illegal) immigration.

"most economist agree that immigration as a whole is a long term plus. "

Immigration is good. I'm talking illegal immigration. Which is bad for everyone including the illegal immigrants and the country's poor. There is a reason why businesses love illegal immigration - it allows them to pay 3rd world salaries which is evil. Come in legally and that kind of thing is way less likely to happen.

Why Trump Might Quit

Three different news sources have run a story in recent weeks about the possibility of Trump withdrawing from the election. James Carville has also predicted it. Hard to imagine it happening but Trump is certainly known for intemperance and erratic behavior.

Assume for a moment it happens. Who would be the Republican nominee? Pence? Not sure he even wants the job. He would be a considerable upgrade but he was retiring from politics when he was picked. That would be a real mess wouldn't it?
