LadyCrimson
First episode of The Haunting of Hill House did very well in creating a massive feeling of unease. Brr. Watched this last night, and I'd agree. Very well done in that regard. Unease, curious dread, more unease. I watched the 2nd episode as well and that one didn't work quite as well for me (still good, I just didn't feel much dread anymore), although at this point in my life I'd say that's more "my fault" than a show's fault. At any rate, looks to be a well done show for those who like suspenseful, hits you in the brain type horror. Very atmospheric. “Things are as they are. LadyCrimson
Ok, gone through 5 episodes of Haunted Hill. Ep. 2 and 3 were a little iffy for me (maybe I just didn't like certain characters?) but 4 and 5 picked up again/were awesome. “Things are as they are. Blarghagh
Watched the whole season. The ending was a bit tame but otherwise I loved it. Highlight for me was that one episode that was maybe 5 shots in total. Not much of an adaptation of the book (some names and ideas at most) but it's own thing. Volourn
L0L The big FU to Roseanne dropped another 20%ish in the ratings. Now just under 7.9 mil compared to the 10.56 mil from its premiere. HAHAHAHAHAHA! Again, this is to clarify. SHOCKING. A show called Roseanne based around her style of comedy loses it star while BELITTLING, SHAMING AND GETTING OFF on the afct that the fiction of the show allows you to murder her (like the producers want to do in real life) loses a huige chunk of its fanbase should not a shock. The arrogance to think you can continue Roseanne without Roseanne simply by changing the name is ridiculous, moronic, arrogant, shortsighted, and self promotional egotism by people like Gilbert. The fact she thinks she has the star power to be the lead is funny. Hurlshort
Glad to hear the Roseanne-less Roseanne is a dud, but I just can't buy the whole narrative that comedy is dead in a new PC world. I mean, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is like in season 15, and Rick and Morty creators are being given Star Trek.

LadyCrimson
Is there any way to buy Japanese dubbed dvd/bluray of American shows that will play in US players? I would really like Supernatural season 4-7 with Japanese audio, because ... #1, Kenjiro Tsuda as Castiel and #2, it's hilarious. They actually matched tonal qualities of Dean pretty well, too. Also: Haunted Hill House, agree the last episode (or last 1.5 episodes) kind of went off the rail but overall it's still worth the watch. The "dramatic logic" of how they leave it made me frown a lot tho. Castlevania via Netflix, is uneven but I'd say it's watchable. Never played the games but even so, it's far better than most game-to-TV/film works. But because of my current VA obsessions I wish Netflix in my area had the Japanese audio dub track available...Chinese, French etc but not Japanese. Pffft on you, Netflix. “Things are as they are. Lexx
This new Witcher TV show costume teaser looks really good, imo. Malcador
Sort of looks closer to Geralt in TW1's cinematics. Not really sure what happened with Triss' casting - hair colour differing from game isn't an issue as they got that wrong anyway in the game, if I recall. I'm still not sure what's the point of having a make-up test if... you're not actually testing the make-up, beyond a wig. IIRC Geralt hates beards so I'm ok with that. - When he is best, he is a little worse than a man, and when he is worst, he is little better than a beast. Zoraptor
Witcher 1 Geralt was certainly the most book accurate look from the games. That screen test also looks a fair bit like- and apologies for triggering any PTSD- The Hexer's Geralt minus comical painted on stubble. I'm not a big fan of the Fabio hair for practical reasons ("I swear I was winning vs that Striga until she tangled my hair in her talons and scalped me!") and because it makes it look like a Rhaegar Targaryen/ Lucius Malfoy screen test instead but I can live with it. As for Triss... she doesn't look anything like Triss in either book or game and looks older than Yen rather than younger so there's not much right with the casting based on physical appearance. It's a slightly more significant change than going from chestnut hair to orange/ red as in the games. The casting overall is pretty trolltastic- apart from having all Geralt's love interests be coloured women they've also cast a Mikkelson, but not Mads and not as Bonhart. On the more meta side of things, unless they tone down other aspects of the world, characters, and Geralt a lot the kind of people who would applaud things like Triss's casting still won't watch the show because the source material fundamentally won't be to their liking*. So all they're doing is annoying some people who would watch the show to appeal to people who won't. Frankly, that's been a major problem with a lot of Netflix programming overall recently and a contributor to their spate of poorly received individual programmes. *Who am I kidding? Most of them are too busy looking for things to be offended by on twitter to bother actually watching stuff.
SonicMage117
I love the look ao far, contacts ans scars, maybe a little beard and he will look like Geralt on point. I'm not too crazy about the other choices for the characters though. Triss, Yennifer and the others don't fit their characters in my opinion but then again, everybody said the same thing about Titans and the show turned out to be successful so... I'm waiting to be proven wrong - which I never am. Just what do you think you're doing?! You dare to come between me and my prey? SonicMage117
Hmmm... Titans is probably my favorite show atm. like everyone else, I was skeptical at first but damn, is it good. And as soon as the first episode launched and I saw that intense Bruce Lee fight, it just captured me. Afterwards, I looked up the Internet reaction and was happy to see I was not alone. The newest episode of Titans featuring Brandon Frasier (The Mummy - which we all loved, Encino Man - which we all hated, Bedazzled and Blast From The Past) as Robotman and April Bowlby (Two and A Half Men) as Rita - two members of the Doom Patrol, this is a setup for future spinof called Doom Patrol with Brandon Fraser leading the team. Yes, he is in an actual Robot suit, no cgi. Sooo good. 1 Just what do you think you're doing?! You dare to come between me and my prey? SonicMage117
Well... attractive differs from person to person Volleyball Head. Just like everyone has their own idea of "fun" and tries to apply that as the general consensus - that never works. In my humble opinion, Gotham has the nicest looking women but sometimes it's nice to get some shows that have more "girl next door" types so I can focus more on the story lol My wife appreciates this as well!
