Everything's Great - An anti-whinge Part 1
Namutree replied to Hiro Protagonist's topic in Way Off-Topic
The movie was decent, but that bug was the worst character in any movie ever. Even Jar Jar is better. You're a sick, sick person. Everything about Aladdin is great. Except maybe how Aladdin won over Jasmine. Jasmine: I don't like you at all! You're a self absorbed jerk! Aladdin: I got a magic carpet. It's really awesome... Jasmine: I LOVE YOU! At least it leads to a pretty good song. -

The princess and the frog was ruined by the alligator and that stupid bug. The movie still wouldn't have been great, but at least it would have been good. It's just like how the hunchback of notre dame was screwed up by those stupid gargoyles. Hunchback is good, but those crappy gargoyles prevent it from being great. Oh well. -
And thus the my prophesy comes true. Me: 3 Nostradamus: still friggin' 0. I'm too lazy to search. What's your prophecy? I throw you a bone as well, here a song to get into the right mood: Posted by Namutree on 04 May 2015 - 05:45 PM Fighter, on 04 May 2015 - 2:33 PM, said: He's switching sides again. It's all a progression. 1: He starts as a nazi. 2: He takes a step in the right direction and becomes a SJW. <--- Annoying as they are; I'd take a SJW over a nazi. 3: He's taking another step in the right direction and is going to be critical of both GG and SJW's. 4: Eventually he'll take another step and say he's more sympathetic to GG than SJW's. The trend will keep going until he's a straight up right wing libertarian.

That sounds so good... I LOVE garlic. I can't wait until dinner.

For some reason I am absurdly hungry. I don't know why, I ate plenty yesterday. I've never felt this hungry in my whole life. It's friggin' annoying! This is bull crap. I hope this super hunger subsides. I'm not caving in to it. I'll eat when I decide it's time to eat; not just cuz' feel uber hungry. I'm not sure what I'll be eating today, but I need something to sate this mega hunger. EDIT: Hey! I think I've figured out why I'm so hungry! I've been doing a lot more working out (like a LOT more) in the past two weeks, but haven't been increasing my food intake much (if any). I'm gonna have a bigger dinner than I usually would, and it's gonna be chicken. That should should solve my hunger issue.

I'd rather examine your claims in detail before accepting them, thank you. Oh, wait. We don't really need to. Eating healthy would increase food costs for one person by $550 per year. This increase alone is higher than your $45/mo figure. So, chances are, you aren't really eating healthy. The other possibility is that you are growing a large part of your food, but you aren't computing the (opportunity) cost. Either way, it's not $45. 1: That research assumes one is still consuming certain types of food I'm assuming would be omitted such as soda/juice. I wouldn't purchase soda/juice in this $45 dollar scenario. In fact, I barely purchase them now. They're a huge waste of money and no one needs them. 2: This research looks for the mean retail prices for healthier food and diet patterns. Considering there are some very expensive diet foods & diet patterns the results are skewed to be more expensive than an attempt at a cheap & reasonably healthy diet would be. If it was a comparison of the cheapest unhealthy diet vs. the cheapest healthy diet I doubt there would be anything near a $500 difference between the two. My claim is possible. Also, just to be clear; I'm not claiming I currently subsist on a $45 a month food budget with a diet that is reasonably healthy, but only that it is possible to do so. I actually am not quite sure what my average food budget is. -

That's great. Where do you get your proteins from, though. Photosynthesis? I didn't bother to name off every cheap and at least decently healthy food in existence. Jeez. Eh, no. You have decided not to earn as much money as you possibly could given your skills. That's a choice poor people don't get to make because they by definition aren't making as much money as they need. To put things in perspective, you need to eat ~1 gram of protein per bodyweight pound per day. You do not need a 24'' flat screen TV. That's not what defines poor. Nearly all poor people in the US can afford what they need. I think you are confusing poor with destitute. In the US anyone single person household that earns less than $11,770 is poor. -
1: My awesome cat Namu. 2: media entertainment. 3: Long walks after it just rained.

Good food (and I don't mean that avant-garde haute cuisine bull****), not so much. Look at the labels and macro breakdown, read up on additives, manufacturing processes, etc. Some of that **** is just gross, not to mention unethical to produce due to the conditions animals are kept in and forced relocations to make room for farming land. The GMO debate is a whole 'nother can of worms. Who wants to spend upwards of 50% of their income on quality, fair trade food, though? I got a large bag full of fresh celery for $2.00 at my local meijer grocery store. You can get an entire sack of potatoes for $1.89. There is plenty of decent food that is easily affordable if one is willing to buy it. Every day I see it, lots of fresh healthy food sold at very low prices that people ignore in favor of junk food and soda (soda isn't even cheap!). Give me $45 and I can eat reasonably well for a month. Y'think? And what is needed to change one's situation from unsuccessful to successful? Marketable skills or the willingness to learn marketable skills, and the will to apply those skills. I have. Me. With my skills I could easily make much more money than I do, but I'm not willing to do the work. Which is fine, and I don't complain about my lot in life; I have everything I'm willing to work for. I own my own land, I have plenty of food ( I buy some and grow some), and I got my vidya games. -

Housing is going down, clothes are going down, vehicles are going down (weirdly the cost of maintenance is going up. You'd think as cars get more replaceable the cost of fixing them would go down, but nope. I don't have a car personally so that really surprised me.). The only thing people really need that is going up is food, but food in general is really cheap; a bit of an increase in the cost of food is pennies compared to the lowered costs of housing. -

Real wages have stagnated since the 70's, with real wealth for the poorest declining. Wealth for the poor is not declining; it's improving. While wages have stagnated, the cost of living and of luxuries have been lowering. Just about everyone is getting wealthier; just some are getting wealthier much faster than others. Huh? Most data I've seen seems to contradict that. Especially considering that real prices of gas have ballooned to ridiculous amounts, taking a much larger chunk of spending than previously. Granted Videogames and streaming have gone down in price, but printed works(especially comics, but no one pays for that) and cable seem to have risen faster than inflation. Only thing a quick search could turn up: http://gabriel-zucman.eu/files/SaezZucman2014.pdf If you have some data I'd like to see it. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/05/01/business/economy/changed-life-of-the-poor-squeak-by-and-buy-a-lot.html?_r=0 -

You seem very capable around DIY...nice one I am utterly useless at DIY, its because I only saw my dad every second weekend so he never really taught me My dad never taught me either. How are your DIY skills ? They're good. Many in my extended family are landlords and my mom would make head over to their houses that needed work done and well, do the work (for free of course). I can pretty much do anything involving the maintenance or improvement of houses. My mother also had me work with her on her garden so plenty of experience growing stuff. My father however never taught me anything and is a complete monster who is currently rotting in prison where he belongs. Lucky for me I never knew him and wasn't poisoned by his vile influence.

I'm not seeing how she's ugly and, unless I'm missing something, she doesn't seem to be transgender - unless you're saying short hair is ugly and automatically makes a girl transgendered and if that's the case you're just wrong. Now you've done it. That was a can of worms that shouldn't have been opened.

He's for it, and voted Yes to pass it. This isn't a direct vote for the TPP. He could still vote against it.
-
He's against the fast track procedure and hasn't stated whether or not he supports the TPP. We'll find out in the near future though.

I don't think GG is responsible for that. I'm pretty sure you'd be alive even without GG Volourn.

No surprise there. Hopefully he succeeds and we don't get an extension of that garbage tier bill. If he exploits his success to get more votes I wouldn't complain.

Sounds reasonable.

No ****, that's because the circumstances of Muslims is in no way comparable to that of gamers. Muslim's exist in a culture of islamophobia where they can be subject to state sanctioned harassment, detainment and murder. Articles demanding an "end to muslims" in such a culture would not be tongue-in-cheek or mere hyperbole but instead contribute to the actually existing violent status quo. You cannot simply replace one group with another and treat it as if the implications are exactly the same. That said, who the **** cares that some random websites wrote some melodramatic articles on 'gamers'. I've been playing games all my life and quite frankly couldn't give a ****. Until we live in a world where employers are not hiring gamers, people are running around murdering gamers or the state itself has "declared war on gamers" you are just another tumblr generation kiddie desperate to be "oppressed". If we cannot change games journalism, then we might as well give up on everything. Explain.

ETA on Expansions?
Namutree replied to redneckdevil's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Its one xpack in two parts. I'm expecting 6 to 10 hours per part. Source? Because if that would be true, that'd be really goddamn sad. I would absolutely expect 20-40 hours per expansion pack. 40 sounds a bit much, yes, but I'm referencing it as thresholds. Minimum 20, maximum 40. Anything less than 20 would be unacceptable for a real expansion pack, and anything above 40 would just be ridiculously unreasonable to expect. Those are just freaking ridiculous expectations. It took them 2.5 years to make 40-60 hour game and now you expect them to make 20-40 hours expansions in few months. Prepare to be disappointed I guess. There is nothing ridiculous about those expectations. Obsidian had to make more than just make some new areas and quests. They had to make the classes, develop the rule system, and establish the method in which they create content. Adding new monsters, quests, and items shouldn't take long at all. The only aspect that would be challenging is making the new areas quickly, but as long as Obsidian really stretches the use of the new areas a 20-40 hr long expansion is completely possible.
