  1. Anyway, Taylor, similarly to Sawyer, is more of a systems designer (responsible for much of the SPECIAL system), while O'Green (responsible for most of the talking head dialogues in Fallout 1 and 2), similarly to Avellone, is more of a writer. And I'd say that in terms of the extension of the SPECIAL system, FOT was actually pretty good.
  2. On Tactics, he wasn't really directly involved in the development. He was responsible for early plot outline, changes to SPECIAL (which were great imho) and general oversight over the game on Interplay's part, but some of his feedback (like complaints about the art style not being retro enough) was actually ignored as there was no time to change stuff. He wasn't the lead designer like with FOOL. And Mark O'Green is the guy who wrote all talking head dialogues in FO1 and 2. Also, while Jason Anderson left for inXile, he did influence the game's design in earlier stages of the game, and probably much of the story and setting is still his.
  3. I'd feel the same way if not for the involvement of some of the original Fallout devs.
  4. Not saying that the game as a whole would be great, but at the very least we might see some cool additions to the Fallout world from Chris Taylor and Mark O'Green.
  5. Well, just as much of a Herve Caen project as Van Buren. The actual devs are Fallout veterans. @Purkake No one is telling you to.
  6. Yup, you can see his FOOL work here: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Natiq_Aghayev Yeah, Herve is a scum, but they do have Chris Taylor and Mark O'Green leading the project. FOOL is funnier, and has been the nickname of Fallout Online for years now. Well, published by Herve, but designed by some of the original Fallout designers.
  7. The concept art by Defonten (Natiq Aghayev) is great, the ones by Serg Souleiman is OK, but nothing special IMO.
  8. By the way, in addition to two original Fallout designers, two ex-Obsidian artists are now at Interplay working on FOOL. How reverse.
  9. Just noticed that there's no topic on it yet here, so starting it. Interplay has recently launched the official Fallout Online website that allows you to register for beta. No idea what the legal situation is now, but the lack of Bethesda reaction to it looks pretty interesting. They did not close the FOOL threads in the Beth forum (despite Bethesda's harsh moderation policies), they did not pull the FOOL news from Planet Fallout (even though we know they'd be able to do so if they wanted to). Or maybe Beth is just too busy at E3? Wonder if we'll see any reaction from them after E3 is over. And announcing it as Fallout Online without a settlement with Beth sounds too risky even for Herve. Or maybe I'm just overestimating him. Or underestimating him. Or both. After all, the preliminary injunction was denied in part exactly because they were not officially using the Fallout Online trademark. You can find out more about Fallout Online at The Vault, of course.
  10. Definitely bad interface, at least on the PC, bad AI, over-the-top boss fights, linear level design.
  11. Well, just because you don't have them doesn't mean they don't happen to other people, just that it was optimized better for your system than theirs. Still, it's no more buggy than, say, Fallout 3, which would crash on startup on my computer before I edited some ini files, but which was not criticized for the bugs by mainstream critics (of course Brother None has actually criticized FO3's bugs as well).
  12. Especially the major character faces are definitely better than in other recent RPGs, like Fallout 3 or Dragon Age.
  13. Well, a good actor could play Thorton regardless of personality, just like the Thorton in the game.
  14. True, but it doesn't mean we can't speculate about our perfect cast. It's not as if there will ever be a movie anyways.
  15. Who do you think should star in a hypothetical AP movie? I think Chris Pine would be good for Mike Thorton. Any other proposals?
  16. I gave the wiki a little makeover: http://dungeonsiege.wikia.com
  17. It's a wiki. If you see that something's missing, add it!
  18. You do realize this is a year-old thread?
  19. Will it include any references to Uwe Boll's masterpiece?
  20. There are many Obsidian fans at NMA, actually, including some of the admins.
  21. As always with any Obsidian game, you can count on me linking to the wiki. Unfortunately, Wikia's Dungeon Siege Wiki is largely inactive and doesn't have much content, but hopefully thanks to Obsidian's new game it will eventually be full of info both about the upcoming title and its predecessors. I"ll certainly be posting all DS3 news there, as well as a FAQ and other interesting bits. Everyone's encouraged to help out, of course, even if I don't expect that many contributions there for now.
  22. Mike is a good friend. Not like Wen. Not like Wen at all.
  23. Yeah, but it doesn't make much sense to compare the sales to RDR. The sales of any recent game will look bad compared to it.
  24. Pretty much everything by Heck.
