Body awareness(to use the common gameplay term) would allow things like your weight affecting enviroment, e.g you could portal yourself over one of those cannons and topple it with your body. It would also look nifty.

Well, that probably depends on whether the player character really has a model in the game or not. If I recall alright, HL 2 didn't have one.
