Body awareness(to use the common gameplay term) would allow things like your weight affecting enviroment, e.g you could portal yourself over one of those cannons and topple it with your body. It would also look nifty.

Well, that probably depends on whether the player character really has a model in the game or not. If I recall alright, HL 2 didn't have one.

Well, it's been a year and a half since I last played. I could be wrong. Distingtly recall that the guys at least had masks.

Cleric's are like bulldozer of classes. I remember how ridiculous it was to have a high level cleric in IWD 2. Prayer, Suffocation, Divine Power, Unholy Word.

I thought the girl was one of the patients, hence did have a mask. Edit: Groat's mansion was easily the hardest part of the game for me. On the other hand, it was so unexpected(the fire, I mean) that I really enjoyed the twist of fate and the intensity of running the heck away from burning wackos.
