I asked is taping a show from TV the same as stealing. You said 'Ah, so piracy is okay then.' WTF??? People have been taping shows from the TV for at least the last 25 years. Are they all pirates? 15 Years ago, if I gave a VHS copy of something I taped from TV to a friend, does that make me a pirate? Or if 15 years ago, a friend asked me to tape something for him because he wouldn't be home that night and I recorded a TV show for him and gave it to him the next time I saw him, does that make me a pirate? So, you think taping a show from TV is the same as piracy and it's okay?? These are questions I'm asking. I'm not saying this is or isn't piracy. And I'm responding to the quote because Hurlshot's quote is a general comment and there are people who think sharing TV shows with other people is piracy. If 25 years ago, say it wasn't considered piracy, but now it is, what's changed?

If you ask a friend to record a TV show for you for a couple of weeks from the TV while you go on holidays, is it stealing?

I agree to a point. If it wasn't for broadband being so pervasive, you wouldn't have so many people downloading. Now, it's easier to download a tv show, or movie than to take the time to go to a video shop. You can download a whole season and while you're watching one episode, you're downloading the next couple of episodes at the same time. Back in the dial up days, you wouldn't even think of doing this.

I was reading a news article today about the torrent site pirate bay being taken to court. The article states, "The Pirate Bay links to files on the decentralised BitTorrent network, but does not store any files on its servers." - which is what pretty much all torrent sites do. Another way of looking as it is, use google to search for torrents and you get links to sites - including torrent sites. So is google to blame as well? When was it illegal to use a hyperlink to another site using a search engine? And do you think this court case will do anything.

^ The first season is the best. If you can rent out the second season on dvd, it's good to see on the special features disc what they had in store before the writers strike happened. They had to wrap up the second season which is why it's a let down. Also, they actually filmed a couple of episodes that never went to air and it's good to see those scenes where the season would have went. The third season is okay.

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. I liked it and thought it was a good prequel. It would be good to see another movie that tells the story between the prequel and the first movie with Lucian and Kraven. One thing I didn't like about the prequel is that at the end, they spoiled Viktor's secret concerning Selene.

Yeah, so. 20 episodes - 14 episodes = 6 episodes left. There isn't 7 episodes. Just becaue the last episode is longer doesn't make it two episodes.

Make that six episodes and I'd like to see how they're going to wrap up the story line and all the loose ends. I can't see it happening. They'll probably do a Stargate and do a movie after the Season ends.

I think most people feel pleasure from indignant self-rightousness, perhaps some superiority smugness in some form or another. It's probably a human trait. So, I wouldn't worry about it.

It probably shows you are more concerned about yourself and enjoying that the other person is having problems in a smug sort of way.
