  1. Well the news website is owned by Fox (News Limited)...
  2. Considering the very high percentages of online people who fileshare, it could be argued that they aren't breaking any societal rules, though perhaps some capitalistic ones. There may be a societal taboo on discussing filesharing, but everyone's (well, a hell of a lot of people are) doing it nonetheless. An example are newspapers reporting how bad it is to download movies, but in the same article tell you a Noobs Guide on what programs to use to download, hardware to use to store and to use with your TV to view these movies and who the best uploaders of torrents are concerning High defintion quality movies with full support of the MPAA, Record companies and FACT (Federation Against Copyright Theft). In the same article they state what movies they download with FACT present, something illegal in itself. I would post a link to the news article but then I would be promoting piracy? Weird.
  3. Apparently Michael Jackson has Faked his own death according to some websites.
  4. I'm hoping it will be the day I die so I can see how it all ends.
  5. I did a ****load of downloading two nights ago seeing our isp will be resetting our monthly allowance this week and used up all our download allowance for the month. Actually, I trippled our monthly usage in one night. Unfortunately, the girlfriend was pissed as hell (she does share trading at home) and our isp dropped our speed down to dial up speed. So it was either Transformers 2 or a chick flick last night and you probably guessed what we saw. We watched Coco avant Chanel last night starring Audrey Tatou about the French fashion designer Coco Chanel from humble beginnings in an orphanage to weatlhy Fashion Designer. Not too bad, although I nearly nodded off halfway through. Would have liked for them to show about the perfumes and fragrances but they concentrated on her clothing fashion. Also, they left out everything that happened with her in WWII.
  6. Welcome Andy Moquin. You'll find some helpful people here and interesting topics.
  7. After Patrick Swayze, probably one of the old actors currently around. They probably won't be around for much longer. Herbert Lom (91), Joan Fontaine (91), Kirk Douglas (92), Olivia de Havilland (92), Ernest Borgnine (92), Eli Wallach (93), or Zsa Zsa Gabor (92).
  8. saw Star Wars The Clone Wars (The animated movie). It was okay. Now I'm off to watch the Clone Wars TV series.
  9. Heard this on the radio ten minutes ago.
  10. saw Star Trek last night. I didn't like what they did to the timeline but not too bad overall.
  11. he wrote 3 episodes of Heroes. Doesn't seem like a big loss.
  12. ^^^ wise advice. When you crash your car, you'll wish you had a piece of crap so it's no big loss.
  13. That's a really poor defense and would hardly stand in court. "Why, Your Honor, how could I possibly had known that file-sharing software was in fact designed to share files?" Anyone trying to pass that off as an excuse should be fined for a deliberate insult to intelligence. That's incorrect. Most people see downloads on the internet as a one-way thing, which they largely are. I can tell you as somebody who sets up internet and ethernet connections for people as a part-time job that almost every single one of them is clueless that file sharing programmes go both ways. They think it's file sharing in the classic sense: everyone downloads files from a central repository kind enough to 'share' them. Some of the more savvy college kids are actually aware it goes both ways. I'm sorry that you think that's 'unintelligent' behaviour, but the fact is it's far more likely to be simple technical ingorance. That's quite true. A couple of people from my work wanted me to set up a torrent client on their laptops so they can download 'stuff'. I said to them, It's not just you downloading from someone, people will be downloading from you too. You should have seen the shock on their faces. Why? How can people download from me? Do they get inside my computer? etc...
  14. I don't think that's going to stop people. I'm guessing a lot of people will have a cavalier attitude and think, "sue me, I don't have any money anyway".
  15. I'd like to know how the fly got past the Secret Service.
  16. After all these years, I'm still a Nub.
  17. I understood that as well and they changed it because of the fan backlash.
  18. I've always liked the Lamborghini Countach. Maybe in black would be good.
  19. A quick google search states Legend of the Seeker is a fantasy series based on Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth novels. Never heard of Terry Goodkind or the novels. I heard from word of mouth that it was a pretty good fantasy series sort of like Hercules or Xena but without the camp. Terry Goodkind has been heavily involved with the TV show which is why it's serious and not campy. It's about a guy who becomes a warrior accompanied by two people with one being a wizard. I was a bit sceptical going into it but it's actually pretty good. Special effects are top notch, especially with the magic. It's the way it should be done. There are 22 episodes in the series and well worth the download. Here's the offical website. http://www.legendoftheseeker.com/
  20. Tim Kang, the guy who plays Cho, is hilarious on the show. It's like his character should be on Dragnet instead. Cho is brilliant. The way Jane dresses him up as a pick up artist and he struts through the bar was hilarious. And the way he walks over and talks to the two girls (and Rigsby taking notes) was gold. Also how Cho interrogates people behind the desk, you wonder how the actors playing the criminals don't burst out laughing. After watching the Mentalist, I started and finished watching Legend of the Seeker. Great Show. Not sure what they're going to do with Season 2 as the end of Season 1 pretty much wraps up the story.
  21. Looks okay. I was hoping for a sequel 20 years after the original V but this will have to do.
  22. Does anyone know where I could get all the old BISIMG pictures? Be grateful if someone could supply a link or a zip file with all of them.
  23. Started watching the TV show, The Mentalist. Have all the episodes and halfway through Season 1 at the moment. It's a bit like a modern day Sherlock Holmes seeking out his enemy Red John (Moriarty/Jack the Ripper type) and solving cases along the way.
  24. Good thing that original ending was removed, else the world would not have received the brilliant last two Terminator movies... oh wait... But seriously, I liked the original ending more as well. On thread topic: the last movie I saw was Zack and Miri make a Porno, which was hilarious for about 2/3 of its length, but sadly turned into a typical romantic comedy towards the end. So you could say it was kind of a mixed bag. I saw Terminator Salvation last night and have to say the ending was a bit iffy. I would have preferred the ending be
  25. ^^ ahh, okay. Actually, the book was based on the script of the movie and came out before the movie was released. I read the book a couple of weeks before the movie was released and saw the movie on opening night. James Cameron cut scenes from the movie and changed the ending which is why the movie and book are different. You can see the scenes put back in and the original ending on the Special edition dvd. Also, Kyle Reese makes an appearance in one of the cut scenes in T2.
