  1. The old people starving argument. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fallacy_of_relative_privation
  2. DS9 is one of those shows where you have to wade through three seasons of some of the worse TV and then finally rewarded with 4 seasons of awesome. It's like sucking on a lemon and when you can't take it anymore, you're then rewarded with the finest meal you've ever had. I've only watched the first three seasons once and never again.
  3. Ah Bruce, calling Volourn's niece who is under age a hooker and prostitute and trying to back pedal. No, the inconsistency is in your posting and trying to duck and weave out of it. Geez Bruce, it's okay to admit you're wrong. I look forward to your apology to Volourn.
  4. That is quite despicable with what Bruce wrote. The least Bruce could do is apologise. You know Bruce, you can admit you are wrong. I think the best solution is for Bruce to admit he is wrong and apologise to Volourn.
  5. All the other shoppers in Walmart dodged a bullet that day.
  6. After 23 years I finished reading the Battle Angel Alita / Last Order story. First published in 1991 by Viz comics and I still have all the original issues back then when they first came out, the last volume was published this year in 2014. Definitely one of the longest running and best story I've ever read. Felt a bit sad when it came to an end. Fortunately, the ending opened it up for a new series and Yukito Kishiro will be continuing Alita in a new story.
  7. The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies. Great movie and thoroughly enjoyed it. Was drawn in immediately and the time flew. Also loved the battle at Dol Guldur. Some day I'll watch all six extended edition movies in one long marathon.
  8. I'm talking about the live action stuff.
  9. Flash (Part 1) and Arrow (Part 2) crossover. So much awesome.
  10. Watched a few movies recently. Saving Mr. Banks (2013). Really enjoyed it. Quite surprised how good it was. Loved all the references and the story. Lucy (2014). A great ride I had with this. I love these types of action movies. The Maze Runner (2014). Great start to the franchise. Can't wait to see the sequel next year. The Giver (2014). Interesting movie. The ending was a bit meh. The Purge: Anarchy (2014). Sequel was okay. First movie was good but this was still all right. Prefer the first movie though. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014). I'm thinking TMNT is a product of its time. Or I've just grown out of it. I would like to see a live adaption of Michael Zulli's 3 issue adaption from the early 90s (issue 31, 35 and 36) which I consider to be the best adaption I've seen with these characters. And seeing the trailer and how the turtles are portrayed gave me a sense of them doing the turtles right. And then I watched the movie... Prefer the original movie when it came out.
  11. An enemy's lightsaber sliding down that lightsaber in the teaser would cut off the crossguards.
  12. Spent half an hour working/updating my tax return spreadsheets tonight. Been putting it off for months (should have been done back in July) and need to pull my finger out and get this done. Got bored and started watching Person of Interest.
  13. Gotham's been brilliant and every episode has been great including the latest episode. Caught up with all the episodes with The Flash and so many comic book references as well. A comic book nerd's dream come true. The only DC show that hasn't been up to scratch is Constantine which is a shame.
  14. Predestination. Another great movie I just watched. Seem to be on a roll with watching great movies of late. I'd give it at least an 8/10.
  15. Interstellar. Loved it. 9/10.
  16. I haven't read the new 52 version. In fact I haven't read any new DC comics since they rebooted it. I'll always read and go back to reading everything before the new 52 reboot. The original Hellblazer comic was one of my favourites. I'd consider Garth Ennis' main run on Hellblazer (issues 41-83) to be one of the best runs I've read and one of the comics that was a must read for me at the time. During that run was also the idea of where Ennis' Preacher comic came from. The TV show isn't bad imo. It's a closer representation of the character than that god awful movie but there could be some definite improvement to the show. It feels like it's nearly there but not quite.
  17. Started watching Gotham and really enjoying it. Like all the comic book references. Surprised how much the little actress for Selina Kyle (Catwoman) looks so much like Michelle Pfeiffer.
  18. Perhaps he means tax minimisation. I know I'd be trying to minimise my tax as much as I can.
  19. I was going to leave it until next year when the whole season came out but decided to watch The Walking Dead. I'm really enjoying this season. A lot better than the previous three imo. The new place is quite intriguing and good to see one of the characters come back.
  20. I noticed in that story it says: virologists believe that Ebola is spread when people come in contact with the virus-laden bodily fluids of those who are already sick and then touch their eyes, nose or mouth, allowing the virus to pass through mucous membranes and enter the bloodstream. My concern is can it be transmitted through your ears?
  21. Huh? Ban guns? Where did that come from? That's a flawed analogy. Oh, so you just talk with them and ask if they were serious or not. Someone makes death threats on the internet. They're asked if they were serious? Oh no! that person replies. A few days later there's a killing. Yep, that'll work. And the neighbours say, that person was such a nice person. Always so nice and didn't make any trouble.
  22. So if someone on the internet follows through with their death threat, it was okay to dismiss it originally because you assumed the best of them. That's not the world we live in.
  23. Sounds like you're describing yourself Bruce with having this strange filter of yours that you come up with and things you describe with people. It's okay, I know you can only resort to this type of debating. And in the other thread you said you were against the goals of GG with honesty and integrity. As I said in the other thread, you will always lose debating against someone who want's honesty and integrity in organisations. Also, I'm no friend of yours Bruce. Never have and never will. I would never be a friend to someone who's openly dishonest as you are. So lets just leave it at that and get back on the topic of the thread.
  24. I'm a bit curious about this. Can you elaborate on any of these? It sounds like bluster. Are you talking about randoms on the internet or people you know in real life that made death threats to you on the internet.
