Who Do You Think Should Make KOTOR III?
drcloak replied to Bastilla_Skywalker's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
There is no K3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - dr cloak -
God, more talk about K3, a title thats not even in development. pffft - dr cloak

Any MMORPG that had Jedi as a playable profession in it is bound to fail. Just look at SWG. - dr cloak

What I find truly amazing, is the fact that people go off into these elaborate ending continuations, based on the limited info they get at the end. When in truth, these imaginative continuations are all probably inaccurate, since the many questions left unanswered were probably not intentional, but due to having to meet deadlines in a timely fashion - dr cloak

Agreed. One of KOTOR's attractions I beleive is the incredible story driven single player. i don't think a multiplayer mode is even neccesary, let only turn it into a MMORPG or a MMOG. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> A Kotor MMORPG? I'd rather drown myself in a puddle of crap gargle. - dr cloak

If you don't care what we think, why even conduct a poll? - dr cloak -
Its a natural human tendency to imagine and develop things in one's mind, in order to alleviate the let-down they just experienced. I was let down at the end of the game as well. But I just accepted that feeling and moved on. - dr cloak

Hahaha, I just got done reading it, and noticed Juhani's name a couple of times. I was like wtf? Am I reading the correct walkthrough here? roflmao - dr cloak

Best lightsaber components and where to find them
drcloak replied to sharky's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
You have beat the game 5 times, going on 6 and you're asking questions like this? Please tell me you're joking. - dr cloak -
Just wondering if anyone else got this Twilek Dancer at the Citadel Station Cantina? And instead of returning her to her boyfriend, made her your dancing slave instead? LOL I go to her from time to time and collect her dancing tips. Big pimpin' ! - dr cloak

Kriea and her lightsaber...
drcloak replied to darth_nemisis's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
What really had me scratching my head is when she pulls out a Vibro Sword from thin air (even though I had her equipped with a Plasma Torch) on the Harbringer. She pulled out that sword and went to confront Sion, I thought that was weak. - dr cloak -
I tried training Mira. I guess I got her too late, and was unable to do it. I did train Atton and Hand Maiden to become my apprentices though. Atton sucks as a Jedi, Hand Maiden is a pure beast. - dr cloak

I'm currently on my 3rd play through. I haven't found any 'unique' sabers either. I did loot a silver crystal (lmao) at the end of my 2nd play through. But obviously I didn't get to use it. I don't think I've looted anything special so far in this game. - dr cloak
-
You're kidding right? I could solo this game on 'Difficult' setting using a vibro sword, no force powers and nobody in my party. You just have to be an expert at utilizing game mechanics to your advantage, and also at equipment/skill/attribute optimization. I just find it hard to believe anyone would have trouble getting through this game on 'Normal' setting. - dr cloak

I agree with 99% of what the original poster stated. Sometimes, truths and facts simply hurt. Concerning the idea of having emergency lights on, as the main power is down in Peragus, would have been brilliant. Even more so if certain sections had flickering light blue lights, and shadows everywhere. Combine this effect with an even more eerie musical score and you have yourself a strong atmosphere and tone, to kick off the first level of the game. It would also fit the level's theme better. Imagine watching the holo vids of the miner's logs in near darkness, as lights are casually flickering in the background. Perhaps the use of water dripping from the ceiling in certain areas, built up from condensation, as the temperature controls are working eratically due to the main power being down. There are tons of things they could have done to enhance each level/planet/area in this game. As for the game's difficulty level, I thought it was appalling. People say "You play this type of game for the story, more so than it's challenge" I say B.S. If you want a good story, read a novel. I need to be challenged, in order to enter what some call 'Supsended Animation'. Where the threat of death is real, and you play more carefully to avoid it. In K2, I never feared death. Why not? Because I'm running around with half of my attributes in the mid 20s and the other half in the low 30s, absolutely crushing all in my path, with the setting on 'Difficult', with no party members in my group. - dr cloak
-
I would agree with this. But also, you would need Kreia in your group at all times, in order to extract the xp bonus her presence gives. This in addition to nailing every side quest and other quests that don't even appear in your Journal. - dr cloak

Who Do You Think Should Make KOTOR III?
drcloak replied to Bastilla_Skywalker's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Yeah of course people at Bioware did research with the EU. You have to, if you're using someone else's universe to create a game. Its one of the most basic rules for any development team. - dr cloak -
So are the implants better this time?
drcloak replied to OrganisedChaos's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Implants are too powerful. They contribute to inbalancing the game. I mean, +2 to all stats? +12 attribute points total, from one little device? Thats stupid in a D20 system. What happened to the days where having an attribute reach 18 was a big deal? Now hitting 25 or 30 isn't even that special. - drcloak -
The Perfect Party?
drcloak replied to The Swedish Dark Lord III's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
To hell with my companions, I want to be challenged. Atleast die once or twice during the 40-50 hour adventure. - dr cloak <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Okie doke. Although I do have to say...KotOR was never really a game that was designed to be hard. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You got that right. It appears it was designed to be easy. Designed for players in the 12-16 year old age group, with average intelligence, I'm sure. - dr cloak -

Who Do You Think Should Make KOTOR III?
drcloak replied to Bastilla_Skywalker's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Bioware has designed a new game engine. Its a 2nd generation engine that blows their old engine away. It even has accurate cloth physics. This engine will be used in their upcoming RPG of course. - dr cloak
