  1. Here is what I did to get the Saber quickly: 1. Peragus to Citadel Station 2. Citadel Station to Telos 3. Telos (Military Base) to Dantooine. Now by the time you are enroute to Dantooine from Telos, you should have complete Dark Side or Light Side Mastery. The key is to get lots of DS/LS shifts before leaving Citadel Station. The moment you see the cutscene with Visas, is the key point. When you land on Dantooine, go back into the Ebon Hawk and Visas should be there. I got my last piece that I needed from her Saber. I don't know of any faster way than this. - dr cloak
  2. Not sure, I don't have the strategy guide. If I get stuck, I just search the Forums. Anyways, I tried everything within the Ice Academy to get the original saber back. My conclusion is this: Its either a side quest that wasn't implemented before the product was prematurely shipped for Christmas sales or... Its just a big, major tease...a sick joke on the players - dr cloak
  3. Maybe he was just using that phrase to refer to anyone who uses that idea of "Lost Memory" or "Lost Connection with the Force" or "Amnesia". I mean, losing the Connection to the Force and not knowing why for example, is equivalent to having amneisa IMO Oh yeah, forgot to mention. the majority of these Reviews I'm seeing are supremely subjective/biased. - dr cloak
  4. Yes I've tried these options on my first time through as a Dark Sider. She simply mutters more nonsense, then turns her back on you and walks towards her Meditation Chamber while holding your Light Saber, still ignited. I'm going to try a few more 'Dialogue Runs' with Atris with my Light Sider and see if I get anywhere. - dr cloak
  5. Ok, I reloaded an earlier save and went through it again - no luck. Basically, the last of the Hand Maiden disappears after you have the initial conversation with Atris. So there appears to be a dialogue bug here. Another Hand Maiden tells you to speak to the 'Last of the Hand Maiden' to look over Atris' artifacts, yet she already disappears way in advance. I even dueled the rest of the Hand Maidens, and only received experience points for the very end battle/duel. I'm starting to think the only chance of getting your original Light Saber back, (if this is even possible), is by choosing the correct dialogue options with Atris during the initial conversation. But the dialog options are many, and the conversation is long. It would take quite some time to go through all the permutations. - dr cloak
  6. Ok guys/gals, I came really close to reclaiming my original Light Saber. During the Ebon Hawk scene where Atton asked me about my Saber, I responded as follows: "Double-Bladed" "Both the Blade and Crystal were Unique" "It was a Veridian Blade, one the Council had never seen before" So when I'm at the Ice Academy after leaving Telos Military Base... I'm presented with a Dialogue option from one of the Hand Maidens to look over Atris' Jedi artifacts, including a Light Saber. She told me to go talk to the Last of the Hand Maidens about getting final permission to look at Atris' artifacts, that she had saved from the Dantooine Enclave. Problem is I had already freed my party members from Prison, so when I went to the dueling Chamber, the Hand Maiden had already left, and boarded my ship. Here is where it gets better... Upon leaving the Ice Academy, I tab to the Journal Page, and hit 'X' button for 'Messages' tab. I check feedback and this is what I see: Item Acquired: Double-Bladed Light Saber Item Lost: Double-Bladed Light Saber So close!! I'm going to reload my saved game and go through the Ice Academy again, this time freeing my party members, only after I have looked over Atris' Jedi relics. - dr cloak
  7. Ghost wrote: [[You've never worked for a small business or a starting out company have you? Like I said, if a new company said something like that to Lucasarts, Lucasarts would turn around and say "Ok no problem. We have 10 other developers who are willing to meet our deadlines." And take their business elsewhere.]] I understand, good point. - dr cloak (Sorry, quote messed up)
  8. Hehe, Morrowind consumed countless hours of my free time. I still get chills thinking about playing that game with my first character. Good times indeed. - dr cloak
  9. Yeah I suppose. But I fail to see whats wrong with telling a Publisher right off the bat: "Listen, I know there are deadlines involved, but my Company simply will not ship a game until its finalized. Take it or leave it" - dr cloak
  10. Mmm good point. But here is my take on it. Lets say I pull together some strong veterans and forumlate my own elite software game design team. A brand new company. I would never agree to any Publisher, to ship a game that was at 85% completion. My reputation would be too important for me to do this. Especially since it would be my FIRST project/game. And my reputation would be primarily judged on my new Company's first release. - dr cloak
  11. Didn't Feargus of Obsidian refer to Diablo as an RPG? roflmao - dr cloak
  12. Obsidian is equally to blame as Lucas Arts. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> In what way Hades? They don't make the decisions...Lucasarts does. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I prefer the approach of Developers like Bungie, that refuse to ship a game until its absolutely complete in their eyes, Publishers be damned. - dr cloak
  13. Agree a thousand percent. But we all know the major Game Reviewers are biased/subjective anyway, towards certain Developers/Publishers. I don't really pay much attention to what the 'Critics' have to say, because in most cases, there is an ulterior motive involved. - dr cloak
  14. Are you being serious? Over a month to plan that ending? ROFL. Not to rip on that statement, but a grade schooler with no game design skills could have cooked up something better in less than a day. In addition, if the ending sequence was 5-10 minutes long, then yes, I could see this point of view. - dr cloak
  15. E. imunities and dammage reduction NWN is 3rd edition D&D and the engine still uses D20 rules some spells/powers against some enemys co0uld be playing into there strengths and they could have dammage reduction/immunity to the spell/power so never take the save F. Save bonuses high stats can give a bonus to save so they could have easily +5 save bonuses <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I will say this, towards the latter part of the game, as a Consular/Sith Lord, nothing could save against my Force attacks. - dr cloak
  16. I was hoping the X-Box users wouldn't have to stay screwed if they did fix the ending for the PC version. If X-box users would have to buy a completely new version of the game, then they won't do it. I may not know the business, but I can't see any company releasing a new version of the game that leaves the owners of the first version SOL. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hehe. What I want to know, is how a crack/elite team like Obsidian, could spend like 30 minutes designing the ending sequence, and actually ship this game to shelves with a straight face. <_< - dr cloak
  17. Haha, this reminds me of playing Pazzak in Kotor 1 and 2. I would build up a perfect hand of 20, only to have my computer opponent hit 20 as well to tie the set. This happens alot more than what would seem mathematically possible. - dr cloak
  18. I agree. I truly hope the PC Version has some fixes to it, with a revised ending. But I doubt it will be delayed. Lucas gives a deadline, deadline must be met, even if the product ships unfinished. This mindset of (ship it now, no matter what!) is one of the main reasons Star Wars: Galaxies is failing, as multitudes of subscribers are dropping from that game on a daily basis. - dr cloak
  19. Perhaps in the hope that they would eventually get it right. I mean, how hard can it be to code an honest random number generator? - dr cloak
  20. Fable was most certainly not an RPG in my opinion lol. It was more like Action/Adventure. If Fable is an RPG, then so are games like Halo and Ninja Gaiden. Although not a bad game, it was too 'Fischer Price' in order to qualify as a true RPG. - dr cloak
  21. What is your source? I belive only handmaiden, disciple, and vissar var or however u sp that can become jedi. For example, I highly doubt that bao-dur, atton, and mira can become jedi... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Visas is already a Jedi lol - dr cloak
  22. Good points Drac. I mean, I too was enamored in the first 20 hours of gameplay in K2. The game was absolutely on fire. Then towards the latter half, it just went down hill and never recovered. Your opinion might change after you finish the game. We'll see. - dr cloak
  23. If you haven't played the game yet, my advice to you would be to say away from these forums lol. Just get the game, play it, and have fun. You can't do everything in this game from one play through. My first time through, I didn't care about influence. I only cared that once I achieved Dark Side Mastery, I stayed there no matter what. - dr cloak
  24. My opinion... Kotor 1 > Kotor 2 Bioware > Obsidian K2 is good, but jeez, in a couple of months, after the 'newness' and 'hype' wears off, many of you will see that K2 succumbs to K1 in terms of overall gameplay/mechanics. Lucas must really be hurting for cash. I mean, they couldn't even grant a 3 or 6 month extension to the small development team? What gives? A summer release would have ensured K2 overpowering K1 and winning GoTY. - dr cloak
