Yeah, I agree. It appears that Revan actually saved countless lives by going against the wishes of the Council. - dr cloak

Being Dark or Light does not depend on whether you joined the Sith or the Jedi (although you would be expelled from the group if you did not act like them), but on how you act. It's like being a registered Democrat but always voting Republican. You say you're a Democrat, but you're a Conservative in the end. (Sorry if you don't live in the US or know US politics, but it's the best example I could come up with) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Good analogy. - dr cloak

LOL right on - dr cloak

Well, I wouldn't call them "evil", but I do think they are wrong. EDIT: I'm referring to the people in New York. Below I'm referring to a Jedi But there is something to be said for being "unavailable" - if you're on you're way to save the galaxy from a Sith attack, then it wouldn't be dark to leave the women. Still, it's wrong not to get involved if you can. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, what would a Grey Jedi do in this situation then? - dr cloak <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's the point, I don't think you can be a "Gray Jedi" <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Of course you can be a Grey Jedi lol. A Jedi that doesn't believe in the Sith teachings, nor believes in the Jedi Order, or Code. - dr cloak
-
Yeah, exactly! There are so many variables involved, and it goes much deeper than what initially appears on the surface. A Grey Jedi might say to him/herself "Well, if I help this woman and save her from the Thugs, that would draw attention to myself, and right now, I'm trying to pretend I'm not a Jedi, in order to get more information from the locals" - dr cloak

Yeah your example is definitely Light Sider. Grey would be do nothing at all, and go about your business. Dark Side would be to either kill the thugs, then kill the woman and take her money, or have the thugs give you her money, then leave. Your example, the end result is that a woman was saved from thugs. - dr cloak <{POST_SNAPBACK}> See Bold ^ I disagree, that even "going about you bussiness" would be dark (although not so much as killing them all). If you have the ability to help this lady, and you don't, then I think it is wrong (especially since you're a jedi). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Interesting. But if you help the woman, that is a Light Side act. Refusing to help isn't necessarily evil. You could simply not have the time to get involved. Lets take real life for example. A woman in New York was yelling for help, as she had an attacker on her, trying to rob her of her purse. Many many people just stood around, looking on, nobody coming to her aid. Are all these people evil/darkside? - dr cloak

Revan, the Exile & KOTOR 3 (if it is ever made)
drcloak replied to Dark Wanderer's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Welcome to the internet. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's not an excuse to stop being polite to each other. You're still interacting with human beings on the internet, so some level of courtesy and decency should be maintained. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> LOL. You should follow your own advice. Only then do you qualify to preach this type of stuff. - dr cloak -

thats true. i think that the influence system could use some improvements. im mainly talking about how, in theory, it works how it should in that your character is 'pretending' to agree with the thoughts and views of his companions in order to gain influence and slowly take them over. theres a lot of room for improvement, but at the same time i dont think that means the system is flawed. this is not necessarily directed at you, but at anyone who says the influence system is 'broken'. its not broken, it just needed more fine tuning. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Cleary its flawed. How can you sit there and honestly say it's working as intended? - dr cloak

I wonder if you're as dumb as that statement implies you are <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What a blatant hypocrite you are Laozi. I made a reference in one of my posts concerning people who claim they liked the ending could possibly be retarded/mentally challenged, and you flame me for it. Then you turn around within the same week and post this, a direct insult to someone's intelligence. Pull your head out of your a** and try to be consistent. - dr cloak

Revan, the Exile & KOTOR 3 (if it is ever made)
drcloak replied to Dark Wanderer's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
That is your perogative of not getting the next game as much as it is my perogative not getting the second. Unlike you I made sure that iKotOR 2 is a game I wanted before shelling out the cash which would be the intelligent thing to do. Don't blame me if you aren't smart enough to make an informed purchasing decision. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm not blaming you Hades, or anyone else for that matter. I'm just tired of seeing people who don't have the game, constantly inject opinions about the game as if they are an authority on it. You, and others that don't have the game, may have informative things to say. But when it comes to things related directly to the gameplay, all your knowledge is based off 2nd hand information, which doesn't lend any authority on the subject matter. You're right, I should have ignored the reviews, and the hype, and the Developers, and just attempted to formulate my opinion as best as I could before getting the game. But until those of you who don't have the game, get it and beat it, STFU when it comes to your opinions on game play/mechanics. - dr cloak -
Revan, the Exile & KOTOR 3 (if it is ever made)
drcloak replied to Dark Wanderer's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
K2 is mediocre in a nutshell, inferior to the first game. For those of you who don't even own K2, yet insist to overwhelm this forum with your opinions, STFU. If there is a K3, I will definitely not buy it, I don't care who the developer is. - dr cloak -
Many Plot Points (spoiler city)
drcloak replied to Malhavok's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Good stuff Malhavok, very well done. - dr cloak -
I don't expect the designers to memorize every dialogue, I'm sure they have it typed out though. It would not be difficult to remove the dialogue that was no longer necessary. Leaving in dialogue that didn't point to a quest is quite unprofessional and poor. Edit: I'm just slightly annoyed that people try to defend stuff like this. Pull your heads out of your as**s. - dr cloak
-
Maybe removed? Try removed altogether. Its not that time-consuming to delete dialogue options that points towards a non-existent quest. - dr cloak

Haven't you stated in the past that you rarely if ever, encounter bugs? - dr cloak

idea for a good kotor 3 ideas
drcloak replied to drsmartazze's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Fun is definitely the most important thing. If there was a K3, I would pray that they didn't use the ole' "Bump on the head Amnesia" trick, or the ole' "Woops, I lost my connection to the Force" trick lol. There has to be better ways of describing how you start out as weakling without relying on those cliches. - dr cloak -
Fastest route to obtain Light Saber (Spoilers!!)
drcloak replied to drcloak's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
You will get a part for your lightsaber instead. I've tried it and I know it works. In fact I'd say the fastest way to get the saber without getting DS points is to go to nar shaddaa. then reenter the hawk when the scene with the Watto wanabe is over to get the Visas Scene. Get your part from her and then go directly to the flop house to start the Voga store room quest. I think the saber locations are set in this game. What ever site has a saber will instead give you a saber part if you don't already have all three. this includes Voggas store room. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Interesting find. If you follow my method, step by step, there won't be any containers in Vogga's Chamber Room. That is why I recommend it in the steps I do. I've tested it many times. But if you have found a more efficient way, great job. - dr cloak -
Highest Defense obtained on your Character?
drcloak replied to drcloak's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
LOL! Whats the point in having a level 50 guy anyway? But yes, your 56 Defense cannot be counted! - dr cloak -
On my experimental 3rd play through, I chose a DS Female Guardian. When I entered Atton's prison cell on Peragus, he said "Are you an Angel?" followed by "I can't believe I just used that line, better to leave it for some poor kid to say" - something to this effect. He then went on to say how he was meant to be left out of the game lol - dr cloak
-
Not to mention Crit Strike can also stun. Once I'm at the end of the game with this guy, I think I might be setting some records on most damage in a single round of attack lol - dr cloak
-
Just curious what the highest Defense stat you obtained on your main character. My current record is 39, on a 15/8 Guardian/Marauder. Anyone get higher? - dr cloak

Bump for the masses - dr cloak -
I've been toying around with Master Critical Strike, using crystals which enhance this Feat. I'm hitting upwards of 130 damage with one attack, with a 15th level Guardian lol Crit Strike is definitely nice. Its how I one-hit killed the Nar Shadda Master. Edit: When I say with one attack, I mean a single attack. I'm using a Double Bladed Saber with Master Two-Handed Weapon Feat. So when I use a Crit Strike Feat, it ends up being two attacks. Often, the first of these two attacks breaks the 130 damage barrier. - dr cloak
