  1. Agreed on all points, except I didn't care for the ending. It seemed to be trying to imitate Planescape: Torment and Fallout but only succeeded on a superficial level... like I've said before.
  2. Troika developed the most excellent Arcanum: Of Steamworks of Magick Obscura. I've never played V:TM:B, but sounds like a fluke to me. Troika can - and sounds like they should have - done better. But I'll reserve judgement until I actually play the game. I don't always trust reviews unless they provide an *exceedingly* poor analysis of the game.
  3. Well, in the LS ending, the mass shadow device is obviously triggered - as the Ebon Hawk is flying away from Malachor, the entire planet is breaking apart in large wedges. I don't remember the conversation between G0-T0 and the remote, though. I don't know what he wanted to happen.
  4. I think Obsidian did a good job considering they only had a single year to make refinements to the engine, which they didn't even develop themselves. Developers who have worked on Ultima Online and have spent one or two years with the engine still find new bugs that previous developers never found or even left behind. And sometimes they unintentionally introduce new bugs by implementing a feature that doesn't sit well with other parts of the code. Bigger engine, but same idea. It's not always laziness.
  5. Said it millions of times before, but I'm loud and stubborn, so I'll say it again, more frankly this time: The-splash-screens-sucked-balls!!
  6. It's a possibility. I prefer characters who are more than purely black or purely white, myself.
  7. Swoop races... ugh. I can never see those damn transclucent obstacles even when I'm wearing my glasses. I have to sit directly in front of the television.
  8. I tried not doing that. I ended up winning anyway, so instead of trying to artificially increase my difficulty but instead only succeed in prolonging battles, I just scrapped that idea altogether. :D
  9. They could have been. I didn't care, personally. I was just glad to get one. A cutscene involving your character tenderly getting a feel for the weapon again after so long would have been nice, though.
  10. Yup. It's the end. Sorry. I kinda had a feeling that my visit to Dantooine would be my last voluntary one, so I got everything out of the way before then.
  11. Meh. Revan is too two-dimensional for my tastes. But hey, that's just me.
  12. Yes, but the character attacking you highlights as your target as soon as it does. I don't ever remember being able to use more than one item on each character during that period.
  13. I learned Force Enlightenment then, after Kreia drained the Jedi Masters of the Force. It's a nice ability for a Guardian - it activates your highest Valor, Speed and Armor powers at the same time for the cost of one.
  14. Ugh. I'm a geek. I enjoyed saying that more than I should have.
  15. Ah, I didn't know that. 10 LSPs are more than enough to beat her. Or any enemy in the game. Also, doesn't the game automatically switch to 'combat mode' as soon as an enemy "aggros" on you (sorry for the MMORPG slang, just didn't want to confuse it with "attack"), preventing you from using more than one item from your inventory?
  16. Talk to Kreia. Exhaust all dialog options with her and she'll eventually tell you about preparing for the inevitable conflict with Nihilus and Sion. Then you can choose your prestige class.
  17. I think I'm missing something - when does she mention the Fetts? And it's Alderaan that's destroyed - Dantooine was spared, insofar as at least surviving the OT. What happens to it in the EU novels, well, I don't know. Don't care, either. Never read them, never going to.
  18. No - something I was very much looking forward to. Oh well. Next game, perhaps? Character development here wasn't as good as it could have been.
  19. Oh, and my characters are always sickly - my Guardian/JWM only had 9 (modified) constitution, which gave him only about 200 HP. High constitution will probably help if you can't heal.
  20. Rumors abound that if you slay Atris, you get to search the area, but if you spare her, you immediately return to the Handmaiden. I would think it's the same either way, but I don't really know.
  21. Empires rise and fall like the tides. The fate of the Mandalorians didn't surprise me at all. A non-Sensitive could have predicted their future.
  22. No health packs? Fun. I hope you have Heal. If you don't, then I hope you have some sort of ability to regenerate or really high defense. And by high, I mean 50. Because she hits me nearly every time for at least 70 damage a hit, and I believe my defense is in the high 20s to 30s. However, my Treat Injury is maxed and I took the opportunity to create a googol life support packs as soon as I got the chemicals to do so. If you have Heal, hit her a few times, run away, then Heal yourself. Repeat until she's dead. When she summons her lightsabers, lead them away from her, and then attack her. Or kill her before she gets a chance to summon them (I think you can do this, anyway). If you're a Guardian, get as far away as you can while you can still target her, then attack her with a normal attack to receive the benefit of Force Jump. If you have Regeneration but no heal, it will take you a lot longer. If you have no healing ability whatsoever, well, some more armor is definitely called for, or a switch from medium (or hard) to easy. :D
  23. 1. No, not sure if it's possible. 2. Yes. Mira and the Handmaiden. Bao-Dur went mute after a single conversation tree and I never could get enough influence with Atton 3. Yes.
