  1. I don't quite see how a game like this fit with Obsidians talents, but I guess it's going to be a game full of tanks and I assume there will be no shortage of tanks for groups..
  2. I guess this is turning out to be one of those love-hate games by reviewers, which will put the metacritic score (which is a pretty bad measure of anything) about 6.5 - 7. It sounds like the joy of the game really boils down to how forgiving you are. I have never really played a game that was perfect, quite the contrary, every one of my favorite games have annoyed me excruciatingly at some points, but eventually I learnt to avoid cornering myself into those situations again.. Unfortunately a little late - Before I started playing computer games more than twenty years ago I had lots of hair.. Sounds like there is going to be considerable hairloss involved in playing this game, but maybe I need to focus on the hair between my toes, in my nose and ears.. hmmmmmm.. Graphics look nice and there is even some boobs and porn in the game.. And apparently a helluva lot of freedom of configuration of difficulty. -- On a discount I'd try it.
  3. Rotating on each tile to see it all.. That's.. really.. erm, old. Do you also have to look UP and DOWN for each tile?
  4. Because my mouse slip in that direction at the same time as my finger twitch, I guess. It's an old habit. I think maybe there is a trail on my table that guide my mouse to that location or something or maybe I am just more comfortable using it. Haven't really thought it about that much before. Think something new came up. I don't think your question is stupid, but I feel my answer is getting closer. I also use Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Opera, but that's mostly for x-browser compatibility testing and such, but I don't really like either one of them.
  5. Not really lately so much as in often and still having a bottle I sip. I was never much into wine, because they were all bitter and sour to me somehow or they had a taste of vinegar. Had a few good ones too on occassion, extremely rare occasssions, but I am just as bad with french and spanish names or whatever it was. When I moved to Ukraine I tried one very cheap, sweet, delicious and lovely local red wine called Bastardo, Koblevo Bastardo. Instantly imprinted. I love it and it's only €2 per bottle. I found a page from the maker, describing the wine as an ordinairy table dry red grape wine. Ordinairy is not word I got in my vocabulary for this wine. Spectacular, Awesome, Goodness. That's more like it. It's good for drinking with your loved ones or just for joy. My parents love it too and we bring far too few bottles everytime we return to Denmark for a visit. I also found Strawberry Milk here, by a different producer, but they pulled it from production and relaunched a lesser version in a smaller bottle at the same price. It still makes those fitness cornflakes more edible.. Chocolate milk help too.
  6. Fight Club (1999). One to watch - ONCE. One to think about a little and let go. Nice for a dialogue with a friend, gf or a wife. Left me feeling a bit on edge, annoyed and restless afterwards.
  7. Short: I am okay. I live Kharkov, which is pretty far away from the riots of the capital; Kiev. It is really cold now and I am really worried about those people in Kiev. They must be freezing their Azov.. arse off. ---- Really long: As I understand, parts of the population, especially young people and the western part would like to join the EU, but parts of the Association Agreement with the EU includes some legals changes to the country and the current government fears the prosecution for years of corruption and embezzlement and has declined.. It seems that the only people that really get rich and build big houses for themselves here are politicians with a business.. Unfortunately none of them have any road business and unfortunately the EURO 2102 was shared with Poland, because the roads are full of holes and really need fixing and only those roads that were on the path to the soccer events were fixed.. I realized shortly after my arrival, that the reason why they are all driving like drunks here are because they are trying to avoid all the holes in the road. It's a giant slalom to avoid all the pits. It seems the unrest only express itself in violent outbursts in Kiev, really; obviously you might say, because it's the capital... I live in Kharkiv (Kharkov), in the eastern part close to the Russian border. My wife is very concerned about the events in Kiev of course (she is Ukrainian), but something gets lost in translation or it could be a matter of mentality.. There is really a lot of corruption here, but mostly at high levels apparently. To me it's only evident when dealing with officials and the public 'soviet' administration. Everything can be fixed with a little infusion, but it was a big hurdle to cross that line the first time and it was only because they had been wasting our time for months we had to resort to that to get my visa fixed in the nick of time. 'Normal' people are very decent, respectful and polite, even the police guards at the metro smile sometimes, the daring ones.. Before I went to Ukraine, two years ago, I read all sorts of "tour guides" about various people having problems with abuse of the local militia (the Ukrainian police) and corruption, but they are all very polite, invisible or humble in my presence.. As long as I just avoid smoking in public places (which is the only rule I really know of and haven't tested) like bus stops I foresee no problems of any kind based on past experiences. Television is pretty weird. Everything is dubbed in Russian, with Ukrainian subtitles like the rest of the nation.. There is still a strong influence of Russia here and more so in the eastern part than the western part. Obviously I am playing with my keyboard now and therefore totally on-topic here....
  8. I thought so too.. Haven's seen those comments, but I would probably play a demo first if I could find it.. Oh noes. There it is.. Damn!!
  9. That sucks. Hmm.. ME3 MP. I suddenly realized why I removed Origin. After I moved to Ukraine it's all in russian. I should really learn this language, but it's too alien aand full of soft sounds.
  10. I am having an annoying issue in IE11. Everytime I use delete of just a single letter or a selection of words this error pops up "Line: 1412 Error: Unable to get property 'getType' of undefined or null reference". I wonder if you could nest that statement in the ips.textEditor.js inside a try-catch? (I am afraid that the code tag doesn't work, sorry) * IE does not remove the <cite> tag when it removes the blockquote, likely due to contentEditable being false (1407) */ if( e.data.keyCode == 46 && CKEDITOR.env.ie ) { var selection = ev.editor.getSelection(); // Bgn.. try { // Try.. if ( selection.getType() == CKEDITOR.SELECTION_TEXT && selection.getSelectedText() == '' ) // Error in IE11 - Line 1412 - getType { ranges = selection.getRanges(); if( ranges[0].getCommonAncestor(true,false).getNext().getFirst().getName() == 'cite' ) { ranges[0].getCommonAncestor(true,false).getNext().getFirst().remove(); } } // Catch.. } catch (err) {} // End.. }
  11. I did the same thing when I played it, and was infuriated that the last save point was just before jumping into the beam-thing on Earth. Stumbling forward very slowly down long corridors is not a fun way to end a video game that is mostly about being a kickass sci-fi commando. Doing it twice, doubly so. You can actually cheat a little. The game makes autosaves along the way and by hijacking one of those autosaves and renaming them you can pick up where you left off.. The game makes one too after talking to moonshine.. moonboy.. moonwalker; no wait that's you, hmmm.. whatever. There. --- Edit - Damn editor, either I turn off script debugging or it's even more painful than playing the ending of ME3 to fix typos. ---
  12. ...In a way I wonder why online games developers bother with making help systems at all and simply doesn't integrate it with proven search engines, google, bing, whatever. I think in this day and age everything eventually ends up in some fanbased wikiepedia or help guide anyway, so why bother confusing players and waste their time with systems that doesn't work? I think their time would probably be better spent reviewing known fan sites rather than making it all up by themselves. It's like every game has to be a self-contained unit, even though it rarely is that anymore. I did that a lot in SWTOR, i.e. wasting time, which felt a bit too much like playing the game itself... Sorry, I drifted off.
  13. Are you sure you've got those prices right? BF4 for £45? That's crazy. In my region (which is actually Ukraine, not Russia, but I don't think EA knows the difference) the normal price (the slashed one) for BF4 exclusive digital edtion on Origin is 1499 rubels (£27.70) and on discount sale it's 889.40 rubels (£16.62).
  14. Been fiddling around with this annoying auto-correct feature of IE11 and settings and yuck. I've chosen to Ignore hundreds of words just to realize that it just means that I have to keep ignoring them every time I write them in a different context. Finally came to the realisation that I have to Add them dictionary to avoid any further encounters with them.. or just limit my use of words, which somehow seems impossible. In this short context alone I had to add five words to the dictionary. Hmmm.. wish it was possible to upload my totally messed up mixed up danrusglish Nokia dictionary to Windows 8.1 somehow.
  15. Sounds like a problem I had with Bard's Tale in which I had some major FPS drops on occassion. At that time I was using ATi HD 4850 (SM 4.1). Later as part of my investigation I swapped it for a much older ATi X1950PRO (SM 3.0), which turned out to be blazing fast in comparison and then I realized that the listed requirements of Bard's Tale mentioned that DirectX Vertex Shader Version 1.1 or higher was required, which unfortunately didn't include as high up as 4.1, because 4.1 doesn't support Version 1.x at all. Shader Model 3.0 on the other hand support all previous versions. The requirements for NWN list DirectX 8.1 among one, which means that the game might be using Version 1.3 or 1.4 for certain graphics, I guess. I guess you could try to fiddle around with Hardware Acceleration, if that's even an option anymore.
  16. Ever since I morphed my Windows 8 Pro to a desktop counterpiece it has been going straight to that mode.. That's about 8 months ago, maybe less. Sometimes I get a little too close to the edge of my screen and I feel lost again, but it's only a momentarily lapse of judgement, which seems to be happening more often lately.. Like posting this. It's so easy to turn Windows 8 from a Tablet-PC into a desktop version, even though it took me some time to realize the how's which I accredit to my age, bad habits, prolonged exposure to pheromones and a bit of Alpha Protocol, that it really puzzles me why that choice wasn't offered from the beginning. A simple choice at the beginning of use would have been so easy to do. Configuring Windows for Personal use: [1] Tablet PC [2] Desktop PC Would have saved me from that horrible learning experience that gave me flashbacks to chemistry in high school.. Not really, but close, or it could have happened, in some crazy dream I never had, yet.. 7-9.. uh, period.
  17. I was assuming that you'd upgrade motherboard as well as CPU, because there are so many new CPU's and intel love to make new sockets.. Besides a lot of things get dusty, old and cranky with age.. But considering your budget it might get a bit too tight to do all three things; cpu, motherboard and a new gfx unless your needs are small.
  18. It can be a bit puzzling to assemble a new system, especially if your knowledge is a bit old.. mine is getting there. Just the basics.. (Welcome to socket hell..) Obviously the CPU should match the cpu-socket of the motherboard and the memory modules those of the ram sockets. In some cases you would do well to check if a certain new brand of memory is officially supported by the motherboard. Any thoughts or preferences about whether it should be intel or AMD? The layout of the board should also be a matter of concern if you intend to avoid the clutter of cables, need to install custom cooling, improving cooling and airflow. The layout is of slots are also important if you've got a soundcard and a 2-3 slot gfx. Would be really annoying if the gfx overlapped the only PCI slot on the board and so on. Some modular PSU's got long cables which offers more freedom in relation to a tidy cabling.. If yours is a it short in that regard you'd have to consider that too. How many components are you thinking about upgrading and have you given some thought to custom cooling?
  19. Nice interview, thanks. - So that's what 'grid-based' mean.. I was thinking of hexa-something-grids.. Explains a lot. I actually thought I read that in a context with HOMM, but I must have dozed off or skimmed too fast. - Would make more sense to call this game M&M V.2, than X, since it's apparenly attaches itself more to V than later. - They didn't really reply to the question whether it would just be corridor (/railroading) based, but I guess that's probably the case. - Too bad you didn't ask about whether it's going to be part real-time like MM6 and later or totally turn-based.
  20. "By creating an EA/Origin account for use with Star Wars™: The Old Republic™, I agree that my Star Wars: The Old Republic account information, game play details and data will be shared with LucasArts and used consistently with the LucasArts Privacy Policy." Well, if they are really shut down I can accept that..
  21. That's really old "old school" with a face lift, even though it isn't really an improvement over MM3-5. Sure, the graphics are of a different quality and higher resolution of course, but it's not really a better one, imo. Shocking. Guess there won't be any freeroaming and flying can only be ackward with diagonal four corner movement.. I wonder if there is going to be any area spells like Startburst or Meteor Shower or something like that. It's just a demo, but..
  22. I was under the impression that all the redistributables were sort of complimentary to each other and I've heard that Visual C++ redistributables do not supersede each other so that means if you remove one that was included as a redistributable with the installation of a special game or application there is a probability that something won't work. I'd recommend keeping them unless you are done with those games or applications that originally installed those things.
  23. Core aspects that made the franchise so successful? That's a tough one. ME1 started out nicely with full dialogue, exp and the Mako - Limitless movement of a map (just a big square but you could move all over it). ME2 took away the Mako, all the nice weapons, equipment and exp for kills and gave you.. erm.. Useless ship upgrades, Loyalty and party missions. ME3 took away pretty much everything, but gave us combat good enough for Multi-Player and a few dialogue options for old times sake. The only thing that has really been growing for each installment is the number and length of cut-scenes.. So.. duh.. ME4 is going to be a movie then?
  24. Really?? I was too busy fighting with clunky combat mechanics to notice..
  25. Yep, something like what Spider suggests. 4GB is just a bit too close to the limitations of 32bit for me think it's entirely coincidental, which could be related to a 32bit OS or FAT32 or some other 32bit driver issue. Also notice you only got 4GB RAM, which seems a little odd for a 64bit system, so maybe it's all related somehow.
