  1. Some SW Anorak will be able to say whether the Republic is defeated 4000 years before the movies. I seem to remember a line about it being in existence for 15000 years or some such, so I guess whatever happens the Republic must go on until the NT. I guess the fatal flaw(s) introduced by Jedi Council (K2) and anything in K3 (e.g. True True Sith super-sneak mind-poison-thingie) would lead to Sidious/Palpy, Maul and Vader in due course. PS Shouldn't this be a part of the Kotor3 thread?
  2. I think the Golden Age of Sci Fi is eventually getting its dues despite GL; I hear there is yet another Philip K. D1ck inspired movie being shot (was it Robert Downey Jr saying he was in it?) for release next year. Gotta love PKD -- he certainly was a towering intellect and substantial influence. Funny, I didn't much like his award winning Man in the High Castle, but I certainly did like his style and his short stories; his questioning of what is reality?, and the numerous androids that find out they are made of artificial memories certainly struck a tone way above most Sci Fi that was written at the time, and since. (My favourite Heinlein novel is Job, which I highly recommend.) 2) Nope, the Force is obviously a malevolent self-serving being which only tolerates the insect-like inhabitants of the SW universe to further its own goals of self-actualisation. We must take heed of the Prophet Kreia and take up arms against it. "Massively outnumbered? Small chance of success? What are we waiting for!" The turtles (Cuff and Link, can never tell them apart) represent Rocky's projected desire to be with Adrienne; in a safe environment and in a world where he has little power he can provide control for them. Or else he just likes turtles.
  3. The biggest issue with your story (apart from the dissentions above) is replayability. Who would want to play that game again (or once)? Nope. I like to choose everything ... that's why they call it Role Play. You're writing an animated script -- fanfic.
  4. Yep, I would say that there is a better than even chance that this will be the scenario the developers follow, assuming there is a third game. I wish there were more models to choose from: instead of half a dozen heads, lets have different races and sizes etc. If Yoda can be a Jedi, then a Gizka can too (well, maybe not a Gizka. Unless they are merely the physical manifestation of multi-dimensional super beings in this universe ... but I digress.) The only problem with this idea is that Revan would have to be dead. Most people would like play their Revan again, so there might be some resistance to this idea. Good ideas though. Nice avatar, too.
  5. You'd better see a specialist about that, then ...
  6. Naw, he looks like David Brent (played by Ricky Gervais, from "The Office") "
  7. But is God real, Baleydammit? You know - you maybe onto something. Sometimes i think i am a figment of my own imagination To anyone reading this - do NOT take this is a cue to start some philosophical debate <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Aawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, not even one Existentialist joke?
  8. We need an artist to create an intimate portrait of "Candyman and Bao-Dur at leisure" ...
  9. Actually, a young William Shatner (c.1966) from the first series. And William Riker (Jonathan Frakes -- one of the few people that look better with a beard) for Carth Onasi.
  10. That looks more like Speed Racer.
  11. Just use a deck of normal playing cards. (They were originally used for fortune telling, not aumsements.)
  12. Good link, thank you StarKiller. It does create a conundrum, though. Do we interpret the movies according to scientific method or artistic whim? Does the fact that the second Death Star needed to be of diameter 900km to be scaled for the forest moon of Endor, or do we take the (albeit non-scientific) artistic wish that it was only 160km? And with the starter's pistol firing on another endless tussle between the entrenched parties of either side of yet another holy war, I bid adieu ... "
  13. ... Many Bothans gave their lives for these measurements.
  14. Washed first, I hope ... (remember Zalbar and Mission in K1 )
  15. What if Kreia was lying to give the impression that she were Kae? "
  16. Are you not able to translate into "his" when one writes "her"? Good. A lot of effort for you is it? Well, I think I see the kernel of empathy just starting to bud into life ... I mean, just imagine how many women have to traslate your masculine "gener-neutral" prose. I think the feminine pronouns impart more meaning and, besides all that, look better.
  17. Does your family know about your wig fetish? I mean I can understand a costume, but a wig? Revan appears everywhere in her mask and cape, so that wouldn't be too difficult.
  18. Fishie is coming a credible second ... meatbag was just pure inspirational brilliance, which is always going to be hard to beat.
  19. Yes it certainly is a better mechanism than a single conversation with multiple choices; which is soooooo lacksedaisically lame. (Did anyone accidentally make an unitententional selection with Atton: you had to wade through about five minutes of dialogue either side of running to a computer terminal -- very annoying for those who wanted to reload.) Yep, and what would be an even better tactic is not having "LightSide Jedi Master / Sentinel" as one of the choices, but instead the characters would describe Revan and the Exile in their own words, and some might disagree (or have a hidden agenda -- just because Juhani was Light Side in K1 doesn't mean she will be in K3. for example) ... adds a bit more imprecision and reality to the process. I have little confidence this will materialise, however, considering the one-dimensional strategy used in K2; one conversation with four multiple-choice answers for PC's background and a large PC psychological diagnosis in the cave for the sake of a single battle! (Why this wasn't used to tailor the endgame leads me to assume the developers' left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing.)
  20. Kreia was the best, I feel. Her cold diction matched her (initially impenetrable) character and seemed to deepen and ring with insanity as the game matured. HK-47 was even better in K2 than K1. Carth was terrific voice acting. Yes he was a whiney annoying so-and-so, but that was the point. The actress doing Visas was over-acting almost as much as the one doing Queen Talia. And Bao-Dur sounded like he was reading English as a foreign language, phonetically spelt out on cue cards that he couldn't quite read (until the end when he seemed to find his voice).
  21. I thought you were asking us to guess the source of the quotation; I have never read that passage (at least I don't recall it) so I assumed FaramirK would take the biscuit (sorry, cookie: local idiom). Sounds like you are equating the DS to bad (as in a failing of, or incomplete, good) rather than the traditional "Evil" (dualistic connotations: I believe we covered it about ten pages or so back with Nietzsche's difference between "Bad" and "Evil"). What were you reading, the Young Anglican book of Daemons and Devils? :D Who are you calling little?
  22. Well do your readers a favour and correspond via the word processor so that we all might be able to understand your ramblings.
  23. ... you mean similar to the interface in K1? "
  24. I think I understand the title of this thread now. Yes, I can see why you would want to make it legal.
  25. Not entirely The British,Americans and Russians divided the world amongst themselves They're all to blame. Let's not forget we were getting our ass kicked when we turned on the Germans. And in the late 60's Ceausescu actually reformed the party politics. People opened stores...censorship almost dissapeared. Then he went insane and adopted some stupid asian comunist ideas Nobody conquered Russian...nobody <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So that mustn't have been a McDonalds in Red Square that I saw in the 1980s, then? :D
