  1. That's good, I like it. Also, it would take your group down to two, whilst you couldn't get back to the Ebon Hawk. I'm not a big fan of medpacks, either, but I guess they're the Winston Churchill's democracy of the FPS world: it's a terrible system, but also the best system we've got.
  2. Bob Page is a dead man (or cyberman) if you beat Deus Ex. In all three endings, he dies. Navarra can kill Lebedev for you, if you refuse. So I guess Gunther is unavoidably dead, too (though I have never tried not to kill him.) I especially like . :D
  3. It will be good for the little one to improve her hand-eye co-ordination skills .. "
  4. Just the same played over the lag-prone SWG network, then? "
  5. Missed out that little ironic smiley again ... "
  6. Cool. Thanks guys!
  7. ... But you do sometimes? "
  8. It looks solidly written (high order of referential integrity, innovative thoughts, etc): whether that info was taken from somewhere else to pad out a poor game is unknown to me, but it is nothing if not a good start.
  9. Well, I don't think it's an either/or prospect as dire as you imply. There might easily be more realistic combat, which does not preclude recovery, per se, but the whole auto-heal system has become a little munchkin, if you ask me (and you did!).
  10. That's the way I understand it, too. Otherwise they guys over at http://www.blackmesasource.com/ wouldn't have much work to do ...
  11. Are there any (good) mods for Doom 3?
  12. Would HK-47 be able to save a game, anyway? It's not like they're going to make a film with its name above the title ... PS: permadeath exists in K2: linkie :D
  13. You're stuck in a bug. Reload.
  14. Dragon Age sounds promising, too. (I just hope Bio have read a new story since NwN ...)
  15. (Well, someone had to post it.)
  16. Well the HD pack was an add-on; technically the Blue Shift models were identical to the Half-Life models. So, Yes, to answer your question.
  17. It's not that difficult. It does require a lot of planning in the writing stage, but for some reason that hasn't been a priority.
  18. ... And you call yourself a professional! I think you should hand your joystick back ...
  19. Um, that means you agree with what I said.
  20. Okay then, what about China AND India. Wait, I KNOW! The Rest of the World versus the US. No nukes. And no bio weapons. And the US has to count to 100 before they start.
  21. I know what you mean. People don't realize this but Northeast summers are extremely hot. It's cold in the wintertime but also very hot in the summertime. After having lived 12 years in NYC and having suffered though those awful summer heat waves, I think that Orlando and Phoenix are pretty nice in comparison. The only thing comparable would be the Carribbean. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Except the Carribean has crytal blue water and unspoilt white sand beaches ... Spellmar says "weird". <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thankyou. Too long at the keyboard, again.
  22. GL and EE "Doc" Smith Apart from Bastila Skywalker? " <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Technically qualifies as a sequel, then, doesn't it? Because it has an NPC from the KotOR universe? "
  23. Well, if the Wikipedia says so ... " ... "Space opera" was originally a derogatory term, a variant of "horse opera" and "soap opera". Wilson Tucker suggested the term in 1941. It meant an action-oriented tale of space adventure instead of "respectable" science fiction story that concentrated on effects of technological progress and inventions. However there is no sharp dividing line and many authors manage to combine the space adventure and the supposedly 'respectable' elements, ensuring that the best written space opera is represented among the best of science fiction generally. Originators of the first space opera stories were E. E. Smith, with his Skylark and Lensman series; Edmond Hamilton; Jack Williamson; John W. Campbell; and later Leigh Brackett. ... This is apparently where GL stole the SW story from ...
  24. And no death. ("Wake up you guys, the battle's over!")
