I think we can supplant this into Skeeter's Junkyard and close it. :D

You see, all it looks like this decision has resulted in is eliminating the tedious journey back to the temple. And if someone gets gibbed (permanently killed), for most players it simply means it's time to reload. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It might be "more realistic" (sic, because the notion of magically reviving someone that has been run-through with a sword with a few chants of archaic poetry is realistic) to have to decamp and visit a temple for healing and resurecting, but is it any fun? Yep, step up "tr00 h4rdc0r3" gamers who demand permadeath, and anyone else is not allowed to play the games as they don't appreciate them! Sure resting is overpowered, but I must admit it is much more fun to play a mage where the PC actually spends most of their time casting spells rather than running about screaming "Help!". FWIIW I don't rest much at all with a non-magic character (like a Paladin or Monk) because they have permanent spell-like abilities. I wouldn't be surprised if this conversation turned into one about which character class was overpowered and those people who play them nothing better than cheaters ... after all, a tr00 gamer would only play a basic class like a fighter, and eschew all advanced feats like improved criticals, as they are just for the casual gamers. /sardonicisms

Pictures of your Games: Revolutions

NwN2 was written by Obsidian after they wrote KotOR:TSL, so there are some similarities to be found there. The KotOR game is a restricted set of classes that can be equated to D&D (d20), but they are different engines. LucasArts, who own the rights to all things Star Wars, including the KotOR games, does not encourage people to make their own adventures with their IP (at least up until now). End of conversation. People who are on the borderline of trolling should reconsider their posting before it earns them a warning.

Yeah, I'm using my three-year-old Pentium M 1700MHz, 1GB RAM and 128MB ATi Mobile T2 (which is a version of the 9600) and I can play it at my external LCD monitor's resolution of 800x600 with no difficulty.

Ok Nividia Fanboy. You must be on the mailing list. The 8800 is not twice as fast as the fastest ati card out. While the 8800 is fast, its not even close to twice as fast. Clicky!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's good to hear. I agree 100% ... the problem now is that the (older!) cards don't power higher resolutions at all well enough, and the new 8800 isn't tried on DX10 ... also the ATi I have read is a better design (actually has unified shaders). Though by the time any DX10-compatible games are released, we'll be a couple of card generations along from here.

It'll be the new Unreal Engine that kick starts PhysX, if anything does.

Yes. Actually, it shouldn't be a thread at all: netiquette behooves us to add such things as a link in our signatures, not create a topic.

After meeting and NOT selecting him, I had a problem with the character I had replaced him in the party with, namely , she tends to not follow the party around at all. Which was kinda handy in , because I could just switch to controlling her and exit the cave. But I was not upset to replace her with shortly thereafter.

Oh, right. Probably a result of me staring at little pixelated people for toooooo many hours.

Not sure what problem you are having, because I can queue commands and jump to other party members and do the same to them. If you are really having kittens, then change the behaviour of the worst offenders to "Puppet" mode, which will make them automata that won't do anything without direct control. I have been getting some d

I'm using Kaspersky, as it comes bundled with System Mechanic Pro 6. As Kaftan said, AV is not an essential part of your PC as long as you keep it behind a firewall. I'd recommend a hardware firewall (most broadband routers can be bought with a firewall now). Just don't detach any virus-infected mail! ) I went for years without an installed AV. I must say the only problem I have had is when my laptop is docked in the port replicator (which has my monitor, mouse and keyboard and a couple of printers attached). I worked out that turning off the System Guard (when I was an air gap away from the internet, and therefore it was not needed) was the main culprit: it was causing literally everything to clobber everything previously loaded into memory! Sophos is the best AV available, but they don't do home versions.

Actually, a poor CPU will hamper your gameplay in Rome: Total War.

What's it for? I.e. what is in the "Complete Mage" that isn't in the other books? Or is it just a collection of all the stuff from the other books in one cover?

He's had his head shrunk by that gun in Mars Attacks ..!

Half-Life 2, of course!

Hmm, weird.. apparantly this bug* exists for Gothic 3 as well. Dare I speculate upon a widespread scheme? EDIT: *= Both the hard-chewed plastic and the disk space bug. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That might very well be a Windows API bug ... I've had that happen on a few apps before, over the years. (Both chewy plastic and incorrect drive requirements for the selected drive.)

So NOW you want to be his friend AS WELL?

Not that it is an excuse, but there aren't any graphics card solutions available that CAN display HDR and AA at high resolutions right now ... that'll need the next gen of cards, probably.

... Because they won't look good on the best single GPU available?

...tell me 'bout it...were I ordered the LE from, they's sayin' 1-2 weeks...b@st@rdos!!!... ...WHO LUVS YA, BABY!!... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That is basically what Amazon told me so I told them off and canceled my order. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> My lovely Lawful Good Collector's Edition was shipped on 31 October, but if it doesn't arrive tomorrow morning I will have to go and pickup the Chaotic Evil Collector's Edition I ordered from Game ...
