But there are multiple endings (so one might be good..?) ..? I played a bit of Silent Hill years ago ...

Thanks for playing. Spam is not what we do here. Edit: It was the smilie that removed all doubt. "

I am reliably informed that the American Spanish doesn't use second person plural, merely duplicating the third-person polite, instead. (Funnily enough, it was a German who told me. :D )

Sure, I was providing some non-intelligent (in any sense that humans are aware of) organism that DOES act in an altruistic manner. So it is perfectly possible for altruism to spontaneously occur in nature. Is this evidence of the hand of god? Or just another permutation out of the infinite variety of survivability traits available? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Only on the surface. Remember, the books called the "Selfish Gene" From article: Aka their DNA and such continue on, even when the "host replicator" dies off. I'm going to just quit for now, because I am obviously not getting my point across in these rushed burst. I just want to say that Dawkins is part of a group who argues evolution on a genetic level, not on the individual or group level. It's about the gene's survival. EDIT: Altruism, if evolution was on the individual level, would poss serious problems to theory of evolution. After all, if the "best" of a species kills itself for a weak one that violates what evolution is about. Then you get evolution for the group and that fails to....and I'm going to be soooo late with these papers...**** me..... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I was making the point that altruism doesn't REQUIRE intelligence: it's not a prerequisite. Once we accept this possibility, then it might also be feasible for genes (being non-intelligent and possessing / evolving survival traits) to display altruistic "behaviours" ...

Silent Hill and Fatal Frame (or whatever it's called, number two) look pretty good, though.

... That you had paid good money for a game that wasn't as scary as the first one is ... now?

This is reminiscent of the Sony adverts, advertising ... um ... the cruel burden of self-awareness ..? Sending to coventry.

Definitely not a C&C topic.

I just noticed I have five copies of the Quicktime plug-in ... it would be a great idea to be able to remove plug-ins.

Yeah, I gotta agree with mkreku; I think it's primarily available as a build option on your new laptop ... certainly can't see any for US$200. GeForce Go 7900 nVidia

NWN2: Duo Core Processors Not Supported?

I'm pretty sure you can change the attributes in Windows, without doing it every time you run it. -
Meh, France had a lucky year; I'm sure the US will bounce back next year. "

Worn blue jeans and open green linen long sleeved shirt over a dark chocolate vest (you US citizens call this item of clothing a "tank top", and others may call it a "singlet").

Yeah, how dare those people try to claw back some of their time, money and effort they have invested in making a mod! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah like us BG modders can ever charge for our mods. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Then either you made a mod for the wrong game (i.e. no market for it), or you made a mod for the wrong market (i.e. the players wouldn't pay for it). Did you set up a donation account? So that people could donate if they liked your mod, as opposed to a fee to play? That might have been an easier way into the whole payment model for you AND the players.

no, bacteria are not sentient beings....well, I've just made a negative assertion, which is actually harder to prove than a positive one. altruism being useful is a universal reality, yes...one that is with us in this life and will be there in the next. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Convincing an organism to make the ultimate sacrifice for the good of the species / colony / group / collective is a non-trivial matter, though.

Um, nothing. If I don't like them, I won't play them. It won't impact on my enjoyment of the other games if someone makes another one that I don't like. I think Highlander II:The Quickening was an atrocious film, but that has no impact on my opinion of the original. And no-one is asking you to "change" your favourite game, either. We're talking about a brand new game! ) That very dim view of Oblivion totally ignores the success of Bethesda Softworks as a developer. Don't forget, Deus Ex was (like a large majority of games were) made with the Unreal (i.e. FPS) Engine; that didn't stop Deus Ex from being a remarkably different sort of game with stealth and RPG elements. And who said that you won't get it? Your crystal ball seems very powerful, but maybe it has a crack in it ...

Semantics.

IMHO, he's a fairly talented guy as he did some awesome levels in the Thief games and was also responsible for the Dark Brotherhood quests in Oblivion, as far as I know. Despite all that, I still have less then a spark of hope that Bethesda's FO3 will be a worthy successor to the franchise. At best, it'll turn into some kind of a Deus Ex/Oblivion/Fallout mixture which might be enjoyable on its own terms, but I doubt it's going to be even close to the prequels or the canceled BIS version. <_< <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ... And what's the problem? Oblivion is rated one of the best games this year, and Deus Ex is the bestest game EVA, and Fallout was okay, too. ) "

The mod in question was $9.99: But, yes, there are other mods with smaller values, like $2.99, $1.89 and $0.99. That's the economic model for shareware. another link

How to listen to the WAVE files in Stream Voice

Good question, well answered. Now let's move this to Skeeter's Junkyard. -
There are examples of "altruistic" bacteria, i.e. microbes that will actually sacrifice themselves for the good of the colony ... even though they have less than a rudimentary mode of communication (as far as has been observed so far, anyway ), with proteins that are not much larger than chemicals. source source Does that mean there is a God of Bacteria, or that bacteria "believe" in universal truths, or just that altruism can (in some instances) be a useful surivial trait?

Total annihilation in other words. Or genocide, if you will. Either way, that still would not eliminate it. You would always have extremists, many of whom do not fear death. Such a thing might only strengthen it by provoking outrage. In actuality, the only thing that could possibly defeat a bad idea is a better idea. To convert your enemy, not kill him (a la 1984). <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
