  1. I can't really say that I like the numbers... but it is better than no feedback. Technology allowing, a nice thing for future game would be to add a visual feedback when appropriate. I.e. facial expressions (grimacing, scowling, smiling, winking etc.), body language (a slight swagger, shking fists at you, outride rude gestures, constantly looking at you, smiling etc.). Devious npcs might of course chose to "cloak" their attitude towards you and spring some nasty/pleasant surprises on you.
  2. How did you arrive at that conclusion? (sounds more like an issue with the dialogue script, not the text string database) Can't say I have run into it previously, so I hope somebody else can help you out. It does have its share of weird issues.
  3. You can sell him to whatshisname the junk dealer. I hope you got a good price for the little beeper
  4. I know it is an incredibly bad movie, but sometimes timing is everything. Having seen "The Fog" at a friends place a long time ago, I had to ride my bike home through a remote forest path in, yes, thick fog. Visibility was non existant and it was 2:30 am. I swear I saw things moving in between the trees...
  5. Favourites: Psycho The Birds Invasion of the bodysnatchers Alien 28 days later Strangeland (nobody blamed me for good taste) Evil Dead Event Horizon Honourable mention to: The Shining The Blair Witch Project Dawn of the Dead lots more that I have forgotten at the moment Deliberately void of teen slasher movies, as they are mostly watched for the good looks of the girls before they are being cut up, not for the presence of any "horror" effect
  6. Took down my Serenity DVD from the shelf and gave it another spin. Not quite living up to the potential of the series, but still good entertainment
  7. Gulty as charged. Gorth gained 50xp and learned new options. Playing Stalker and Europa Universalis 3. Both games are incredible "time sinks". Hooray for that
  8. Eurotrip is awesome. One of my all time favourite comedies. Bought the DVD on recommendations from a friend, never regretted it for a second.
  9. Continued here...
  10. Start of previous thread End of previous thread Been listening to some old 80'es hits.
  11. I always found that both Kotor games had waaay too many droids in them And selkath, any selkath is too many selkath Seriously though, too many droids.
  12. I did the same mistake, played a male malkav in my first game. Also neglected my combat skills and had give up in a certain boss battle, backtrack my steps to a previous save and make a different decision regarding what path to take. I can definitely recommend Nosferatu for a different gaming experience though, even if it might not be for everybody. I played a female one to boot, just for the hot leather wear. Despite it's technical issues, an awesome game
  13. I hope you find what you are looking for
  14. Lets see how this poor thread likes it in Skeeters Junkyard Sorry, not having an external mp3 player, I have no constructive input.
  15. Yes, both the official patch and the official unofficial media patch can be downloaded seperately from the internet and copied to the computer you have Kotor2 installed on. You might need a DVD if you want the full media patch though, although not strictly necessary (just requires quite a few cds then).
  16. It runs surprisingly well (i.e. no lag or stuttering) on my 4.5 year old pc, a pentium4 2.8ghz and 2gb ram (and something was state of the art gfx card 4.5 years ago) on 1024x768 resolution and most fun effects on.
  17. Agreed. I think if they are going to keep the influence system, stop with the "Influence Gained" messages. Just put your influence level on the character sheet and leave it at that, then if you really want to know your influence level, you can find it, but it doesn't interrupt gameplay with numbers. It should be configurable, ideally, just as the messages of damage (hitpoints) can be toggled on/off, for example. A most excellent idea I think I'll join the club of "Longer is Better". I don't really play a lot of games, but those I play, I play a lot.
  18. Always have a game in back up in case the one you are playing fails. DS failed in keeping my attention. Back to basics. I keep switching between Europa Universalis III (now ruling most of Europe, North and South America plus a few african possessions) and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. when I need to exercise my headshot skills (not to mention that I find it an awesome post apocalyptic experience).
  19. Only if you have an obsessive compulsive need to solve as many side quests as possible (it is unessential for the game and only gives a few xp/credits)
  20. There are a number of "breakable" quests in the game unfortunately.
  21. Kotor2 keeps seperate sets of saves for each character *name*, so if you have played for a while, gone back to the menu and created a new character (with the name generator) it will appear as if the old saves are gone (being associated with your old character name). There is a button called "switch" where you can switch between the different set of saves. Could that be where it has gone? As for Nar Shaddaa, I am not 100% sure that it is the red eclipse that is supposed to trigger the Visquis sequence alone, but an internal variable that needs to reach a certain number, totalling up all your actions on the planet. Maybe the "squeeky" little guy (can't remember his name) in the entertainment district can give you an indicator (for the mere bargain of 5 credits mind you)?
  22. *having visions of customs agents opening camera case full of bees...* From personal experience... HANG ON TO YOUR PASSPORT! With a bit of luck, I should get a new one in two weeks time from the local consulate. You might not be so lucky elsewhere in the world
  23. This thread is being retired for a multitude of reasons. Just to give one excuse: Not to mention, even if the EA bashing enabled people to let off a little steam, it seems like it was headed down the path of bickering. I have a feeling we havent by far heard the last of Bioware and EA though.
  24. Looks like this thread has strayed a bit far from Elder Scroll games and their add-ons into... *something* Feel free to take up the subject again if somebody has relevant info and/or suggestions to add about aforementioned games.
  25. Ive made 5 attempts to express my loathing for that scumpit, but I cant without using *** words so Ill just say that no artist of integrity would go near that place. How about http://www.cgsociety.com/ ? I find it a bit tricky to navigate, but has a lot of links and references.
