What is the best multi-player game ever
Anybody ever played Re-Volt? Funniest multiplayer racing game I remember (from Lan parties).

What are you playing now
I don't think I ever beat them at the mine, hence my comment about a "fighting withdrawal". Use the cover of the buildings to create kill zones and thin out enemy numbers. Roofs are your friend (just don't pick the roof edge that faces all of them), withdraw to the northern edge and run for it, hopefully having thinned out their numbers. Then return in true MacArthur style and claim the mine a bit later. You might want to go for the Chitzena mine first.

Have you tried running towards them yelling "Butt kicking for goodness!"? The Drassen counter attack is indeed scripted and a good challenge for experienced players Have you tried a fighting retreat and then coming back with reinforcements? Edit: It is also possible to disable it in the configuration file, although I don't know if you have to do that before starting the game.

KOTOR3
You might as well try and convince people that the earth is round...

Scary or unexplainable things that have happened to you
Gorths simplified science: Bash it with a hammer. It breaks? Try new theory It doesn't break? Good enough, lets keep it Can't really say I've experienced anything of the sorts from the thread title. The things that has scared me has been my own over stimulated imagination. But man, can your imagination play tricks on you. Perceived things can be as convincing as real things where the mind is concerned.

Dragon Age Origins
Getting a bit long in the postcount this thread is... Here be dragons

Dragon Age Origins
Start of old thread End of old thread Wow. Wow indeed. Where did Malak leave his artificial jaw? From what I have heard of the Dwarf Noble, definitely yes. There is one choice in the Dwarf Noble story that I know will play out a bit differently when you return to Orzammar in the main plot. It's not a huge difference, but for me it's the little details that are different that I still enjoy I could see the mage having some as well, and probably the City Elves. Changes/decisions in the origin story usually aren't too significant. It'd be awesome if there was more significance, but the game still needs to steer the player along towards the main plot at some point. The big thing that I really like is that the rest of the game does make acknowledgments to your origin story. I only played through with Human Noble, so I imagine most of my origin story can only be acknowledged somewhat superficially (there was some bigger impacts at the end game though, due to my noble heritage), but I would think that the Dwarf stories, as well as the Mage and City Elf stories, have much greater potential as you actually revisit the areas you were in in your origin story.

Hey, that looked pretty interesting. Alpha version... sounds like that is for a new campaign after the current one

The New Classics
Not sure what would qualify as 'classics'... Probably some arbitrary thing as game that will be remembered more fondly in the future than in the present So, what would they be remembered for? Long time spent playing? Stunning visuals/audio? Funky game design/mechanics? Innovative features/concepts? Looking back at the past 5 years, I don't really see what would make the current crop 'classics' (disclaimer: I probably haven't played a lot of the "popular" games the last 5 years either)

so pissed at Obsidian
I've never heard anybody complain about Lara Croft being a woman in Tomb Raider. It would just feel "odd" somehow if the next installment let you play as Larry Croft

Star Wars the Old Republic
It seems like the point of no return for this thread has been reached How about a recess, a cold shower, a deep breath, we are after all talking about video games, not infant mortality in Africa or some such?

Need Computer Help
VTM: Bloodlines. Ouch... That game is horribly unoptimised. I used to have a P4 2.8Ghz / Nvidia FX5900 Ultra / 2Gb ram desktop, and it was sluggish on that one. It might be possible to get it to run, but I doubt that it will run at a playable speed, i.e. it might not be fun.

Edit: After that, it would probably be Battlefield 1942

New Mass Effect 2 character
Did a bit of background check on "Tali" in ME. Sounds a bit like a Battlestar Galactica season ripoff Machines created for menial work rebels, wage war on their creators and oust them, creating a migrant fleet.

Listen to the expert. Shryke, you should give dating lessons Just to be on-topic: ... (impending doom deadlines, i've got no life at the moment).

I wonder if there are keyboards with built-in force feedback around too...

Dragon Age Origins
Shooting a bow and arrow takes skill and practise/training. Any peasant can be given a crossbow and told to point it *that* way while pulling the trigger...

Hey, who's going to PAX?
It would be nice to go to PAX... but its a bit of a geographical challenge

What are you playing now
I prefer to play without the traditional lucky nations... Busy building up my Byzantine Empire so I can get back at the Franks and get revenge for the infamous crusade. There is a way of removing pirates once you get fed up with them (if you don't mind fiddling around a bit with your save file)

TSL Restoration Project: The Phantom Deadline, READ FIRST POST BEFORE POSTING
First I'll see if pruning the threads from this page onwards helps. If that fails, then indeed ponder whether or not this thread (and topic in general) has outlived its usefulness. It did after all start out as a communication thread. Nothing much useful information to communicate anymore by the looks of it. (pruning started)

Maybe we should start talking about The Black Hound. That always seems to take Ramza's mind off other things

Chinese products
One of the greatest shocks of moving "down under" was seeing how much of the stuff on the shelves had "Made in China" on them I had never seen something like that before, thinking that the Aussies (and Kiwis too for that matter) had completely forgotten how to manufacture anything but red wine
