Ooh, that's good. I was wondering if they'd get the same person who made TSL's soundtrack, which would have been good, but to be honest I prefer Deus Ex's soundtrack by far. Mark Griskey. His TSL soundtrack was in a league of its own. I hope Obsidian gets the chance to make use of his talents again some day

Glorifying idiocy may be funny in the right context, but there is a time and place for everything. I'll happily share some pain with people who encourage or promote piracy in this place, but lets keep the pitch forks and the torches at home until appropriate. Now, if you ladies and gentlemen could be so nice as to not force me to read more of this thread until I manage to find this thing down at the EB games store...

If you are lucky, you might find some of the old rule books in bargain bins in second hand book stores. Rogue Trader and the two Realms of Chaos books are especially worth keeping an eye out for. As Floodland said, The Horus Heresy series of novels. My current favourite is actually an art book The Horus Heresy: Collected Visions, which has a surprising amount of background details and stories. Including how Malcador instigated the creation of the Holy Inquisition as his last act before getting sentenced to the chair.

A few "logical" (in-setting logic) issues with that. You do not chose to become a space marine, you get picked after proving yourself worthy. You do not retire as a space marine, only in death does duty end. For most intents and purposes, space marines might as well have been aliens. IG might be a better choice for something where you want people to relate to characters and their situation. Doesn't mean that you can't feature the marines... or the titan legions or the adeptus mechanicus, or the adeptus sororitas or other armed forces. It just feels like it might be easier to sell the idea of one or more human protagonists. Like Titus Pullo and Lucius Vorenus in Rome

Plenty of intrigue, corruption, scheming, brutality, exploitation, subversion etc. to take inspiration from. Heck, Blade Runner could have been set in the WH40K universe. I wouldn't mind another dystopian crime/bounty hunter story. Ferret out the threats from deviant cults, corrupt governors, apostates, heretics, mutants, aliens, etc.

It seems like people are working under the misconception that a WH40K movie/game can only be about the Astartes (Space Marines). Just about everything else in the WH40K universe is more interesting than those.

So, they missed the 3 photons that stopped by last year and probably wont even look at the delayed one that is due next year. They are getting sloppy...

Heh, The Hobbit (adventure game by Melbourne House) came with "The Hobbit" as a manual. Yes, RTFM did apply, otherwise you couldn't really complete the game. At least, I couldn't I do miss the days when manuals were more than just a pdf and a quick keyboard reference sheet. It was part of the feeling that you actually bought "something" when you opened up a new box and browsed through the content

The OC has good stuff and bad stuff. Unfortunately, the good stuff is spread out through the game, making it hard skipping the bad stuff and just enjoy the good stuff Good stuff: The trial, Running the Keep. Bad stuff: Forced companions, grinding, instant/respawning enemies. The rest sort of just falls in between somewhere.
