  1. You control small "squads" of 4-6 units, which gain experience, level and upgrade (a squire for instance becomes either a knight or an inquisitor, different strengths), magic is used outside of battle. There are four sides, the Empire (humans), the Mountain Clans, the Legions of the Damned, and the Undead. The art is beautiful even today if you ask me. I actually preferred Disciples 2 over Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Which is why I am so nervous/anxious to see what happens with the franchise. Note to self, go see how Disciples III is shaping up.
  2. One word: Watercooling (Yes, I am a very noise sensitive person)
  3. It went downhill after NFS2 Play "Racing Destruction Set" by Electronic Arts instead. Best racing game ever.
  4. This would be rad. I remember that (or a very similar) line from way back. I needed a cold shower afterwards Heck, all they need to do is re-skin the aliens into genestealers and dress the marines up as Imperial Guardsmen and the the Onyx engine gets a chance to show us what was almost originally intended

  7. I don't know if it is part of the literature, but you do get some casual remarks along the way implying that the sexual prowess of witchers is legendary. Maybe a side effect of the mutagens?
  8. ...if they could at least spell his name consistently wrong? 'Ugruhart' and 'Urguhart'? Sounds like a mob of related orcs Edit: The only answer I knew was James Pond
  9. Tim Curry? I think I remember him best as Frank N. Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show
  10. Since I doubt you are going to find Reach for The Stars for the Commodore64, Master of Orion 2 is the best thing out there. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to like x64 Vista There aren't really that many 4X games out there are there?
  11. That gives new meaning to the term "dogs of war".
  12. Got my new motorcycle a few hours ago. Survived the first 10km of rush hour traffic to get home. So far, so good
  13. I've never played it, but judging by the general feedback, I would say it is the video game version of an Uwe Boll production... Fobos More Fobos
  14. Some of us are wearing down our third country by now...
  15. Who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks? Went down to the bank today and got the cheque to pay my motorcycle. My bank account is now a quivering, bleeding wound making mewling noises. The store better have that machine ready for me tomorrow...
  16. Thread pruned a bit. Call it a "social experiement". Maybe it is possible to discuss marxism without getting all childish and trollish about it, maybe not. Time will tell.
  17. Yeah, I sort of know what you meant. It was just too good to pass up on I guess the equivalent is you pay for your own annual medical checkup, vaccinations etc., but since I've skipped out on those for 25 years, it doesn't really figure in my mind as an expense
  18. I place my jetons on number guy
  19. You don't expect your health insurance to pay for your blood transfusions?

  24. As a n00b, there are limits to what you can drive in Australia (engine performance). Makes sense too. Even if I am a bit old for a beginner A new Honda CB400 (2009 model). Looked like the most likely candidate to be a low maintenance thing and not kill me outright on my first few kilometers.
