  1. No less so when Choice & Consequence mechanics are a major selling point.
  2. Everytime I read about those game achievements, I think "What a waste of developer resources", but maybe there is a monetary benefit for the game makers in there somewhere. Bah, who needs the latest shader version or the highest polycount anyway? As long as my little hero 'h' can differentiate between a red dragon 'D' and a blue dragon 'D'
  3. I would love to see EA sequels to/remakes of: Archon I/II (Full contact chess) Seven Cities of Gold/Heart of Africa (Exploration games) M.U.L.E. (Trading/Empire building game) Mail Order Monsters (Rather unique) Racing Destruction Set (My second most favourite racing game) Pinball Construction Set (Good fun, create your own pinball machines) Alternate Reality (A much overlooked/underrated crpg) Marble Madness (Good arcade fun, although EA probably doesn't own the rights to it) Deathlord (another forgotten crpg) AAARGH! (Monster simulator) Caveman Ugh-Lympics (Sports game that was actually fun) Mars Saga (Bards Tale in space) Neuromancer (from the time before Interplay published all of its own titles) Sentinel Worlds (another forgotten adventure/crpg) Zany Golf (believe it or not, a golf game that is fun) Realms of Impossibility (Surreal labyrinth game) Battle of the Bulge (Strategy game with some real challenges) A number of games already did get sequels like Populous and Bards Tale. Some of the above was developed by Ozark... wonder what became of them?
  4. Depends on what you expect of the game. It isn't really "horror", since it relies for 80% of the game on startle effects. The nastis (re)spawns in impossible locations and jumps at you yelling "Boo!". I didn't like that part of it. Once you've played it a while, you can predict where the nasty is going to spawn (usually somewhere slightly behind you, in the places you've already checked, trying to create an artificial feel of "frenzy" because your turn ratio is very slow). That was the most negative aspect of the game. It scores big time (in my book) when it comes to immersion and atmosphere. Apart from the wildly unrealistic "shoppe" system, it felt like you were exploring this huge abandoned ship, trying to piece together what happened while staying alive at the same time. Some nice turns and twists too. I got it on a sale for half price in EB Games, so I definitely felt I got my moneys worth. Even if I ended up buying an xbox360 controller to finish the darn thing Edit to add: The power up system and choice of weapons was quite nice too. I am considering getting a "trainer" for the game so I can play through it more casually and try out some of the other weapons that I didn't focus on.

Priceless ! Geekiness taken to new levels

  7. Indeed, one thread is enough
  8. Yes. The making of a good sword is a very long and complicated process
  9. If the smith created the sword, maybe it is a child/parent relationship thing? Does the child love or hate the parent? Does the sword feel guilty for not loving the smith when going through the "I hate you" phases of life?
  10. Maybe it just is "made up" latin for I follow no one or something.
  11. Maybe Mike has been cut off from communicating directly with the outside world. He has to improvise communications at the moment?
  12. I used Word 2007, nothing more, nothing less. I renamed the file to have a .WPS extension and when opening up the document, instead of using the default suggestion, I hit the "drill down" arrow to select different file types. "Works 6.0 - 9.0 (*.wps)" was the very last one on the list down at the bottom
  13. There you go... Edit: In Word 2003 format.
  14. Maybe it is something like Gandalfs "You shall not pass"?
  15. Where are Eldars alts when you need them?
  16. My personal contribution to the worldwide Nestle boycott... change of coffee brand. I blame Walsingham for that, since he pointed out their dubious practises a long time ago
  17. Maybe he can not make a "we can not comment" comment?
  18. My otherwise excellent monitor is giving up on me. Way too premature Now I have to go through all the hassle of warranty and shipping and... I hate it, why can't that piece of junk just work? Not to mention that when I ship it off, I have to use my old microscopically small 19" monitor.
  19. Aww... Just measuring the temperature and checking the civility of the discussions...
  20. Poof... Too much trolling, too little constructive input.
  21. The thread is getting a bit long. Continuity This Way
  22. Start of old thread End of old thread I am unqualified to comment on this game... so I steal a few quotes from the previous thread to kick it off. Strange, she looks 'romancable' in the video. I'm still wondering if the disparity due to the original "12 different NPCs" and the current "you can get 10 npcs on a playthrough" is due to 1 slot being reserved to a ME1 romance. Or maybe they just get the bridge dropped on them.
  23. You can invest in your... cooking skills! Ok, besides that, this game looks interesting. I might just buy it when its released down here (if it is, that is). I can always blame Mkreku and Morgoth
  24. Yes. You need NWN2 installed to play MotB, but you don't need to have played it Edit: It works sort of like BG2 and ToB. You can play ToB with imported/pre-generated characters, even though it technically is a continuation from BG2
