  1. Bought a handful of DVD's in a bout of boredom. One of them was the 'feature length' pilot for Caprica. Not as bad as I had expected, considering what I've heard about it. Found it quite enjoyable actually, as long as I managed to forget that it was supposed to fit into Galactica continuity (which it doesn't).
  2. Then cure him of his happiness. Keep hitting him with a big stick until he realises that he has a problem. If he asks why you suddenly started whacking him with a big stick, just explain to him that you are exorcising the Happy Demon that has possessed him for his own good. Eventually he'll realise that he needs help
  3. I admire your persistence. I gave up on NWN1 shortly after starting on chapter 4 when playing it originally Bugs made NWN 1 a total misery for me on release... I revisit it now and again, but I mostly played multiplayer. I bought the... silver box thingy? The one with the original and SoU (no HotU). I think it was fairly stable (if butt ugly). That is why I love this thread and should probably post more encouragement. It's like listening to a horror story rather than living through it
  4. New episode
  5. Start of old thread End of old thread 92, not bad. Definitely not an age to take for granted to reach. Sound like an interesting life, good and bad and all
  6. Announced 2012... first flawed models released early 2013 (burning down houses due to bad thermal design, poisoning your pets because of leaking cyanide vapors, frying your potted plants with their unshielded radiation etc.), second wave of releases with most life threatening issues fixed released late 2013 and being hopelessly outdated, lagging behind anything from laptops to iPad3 in 2014
  7. HoMM3. While I didn't mind the combat in HoMM4, the changes to the "management" parts and loss of races/troop types was a major turn off. My interest in the franchise really disappeared then. Only tried HoMM5 for around an hour (my little brother was stupid enough to buy it), hated it's guts, it's ugly graphics and the dumbing down of everything. At least it felt like that at the time. Never tried HoMM and HoMM2.

  9. Finally got around to play the demo a bit. Wow... just wow... I know the demo is free, otherwise I would ask for a refund for the 30 minutes of my life. So, I wasn't the only one... That was my first and still lingering impression. I fear that this game is going to focus more on it's bad combat that on other things. A matter of taste. I didn't like it either. Beg to differ, I was frantically trying to zoom out, wrestling with my mouse, trying to get some kind of overview of the mess going on on the screen. Bye bye tactical combat >_ I guess I'll never figure out now if the Gorthling spawn that Morrighan ran off with is going to be one half swamp with, one half Gorth and one half old dragon essence
  10. Read a bit of the FAQ on their website. Ran across the following words within short order: Visceral, Epic, Action Combat. Didn't read the rest
  11. Frag count... Raithe - 0 Computer - 1 Wondering if I should get myself a laptop some day. Might have to browse around a bit.
  12. I thought they had three stances? E.g. Lucas had the single sword, two handed for area effect and a 'recuperate' stance he could use when not being actively bashed by enemies.
  13. I watched all of 7 minutes of Twilight on free tv. A curiosity thing, not a desire for self inflicted pain. Couldn't watch more of it though as it physically hurt my frontal lobes. Sort of like watching live acting anime Will watch the some of the linked/recorded footage after work hours
  14. *Mumbles something about 'Twilight' and 'Bad influence'*
  15. Yeah, exactly. Just add 3D and water.
  16. I don't want to use the same account for anything. That might give them valuable info
  17. Crossing the magical 500 threshold (I'm sure there is some superstition behind that). More Dragons here
  18. Start of old thread End of old thread Um, yes. Sort of continued from the previous thread. They lost me there where it said I would need yet another account. Having one way back from Warhammer online, one for Mass Effect 2 and one for Dragon Age, I gave up. Not going to create a new one for a demo.
  19. Obvious luxury item would be something to play those 8 discs on?
  20. My own computer is still locked up in storage (for almost a month now). There is only so much you can do on a work laptop with those intel display thingies Ah well, at least EU III: Divine Wind runs on it.
  21. Somebody already mentioned Jean Reno. 'Leon' is one of my alltime favourite movies. Viggo Mortensen. Nutcase or just dedicated? Not many like him around these days. Gaius Julius Caesar. A man of daring and ideas.
  22. I was going to say that the PC mage has about 8 times the health as the two warriors in the party. The shadows are inconsistent... player party casts shadows at an angle on the ground, the monster must be an illusion
  23. Nah, mages were invented to appeal to insecure teenagers with secret dreams of one day becoming more powerful than everybody else. Especially more powerful than the guys who gets all the girls. That will show them! (cf. 'Harry Potter fans' & 'Raistlin & Caramon')
  24. The size is fine for the purpose (IMNSHO)
  25. Interesting angle. How would this explain the failure of revolts in several places? Does it correlate with the spread of such comms? I've no idea. If so, get a paper out about it, double quick. It looks more like that the amount of popular access to outside influences (media, trade, etc.) improves the chances of success and the degree of motivation. Ideas can indeed be dangerous. Iran and Saudi Arabia are likely way down on the list of candidates for system changes.
