    Zeitgeist

That is why we need bigger and better computers so AI systems can make decisions for us
  2. Try looking up wh40k on tvtropes for a good summary
  3. Do tell
  4. You sure you're not referring to abhumans? Nope. Beastmen. From a time efore they dumbed down the game (upper right corner)... Are you thinking about penal troopers with explosive collars?
  5. Obsidian guys posting images here that aren't game magazine exclusives... *Faints* Man, that brings back memories of the old Black Isle site. Stuff is looking visually pretty good so far
  6. Whereabouts are you from? I hear Queensland got a lot of new waterfront properties recently (not mention that Cairns is getting cleared of it's current inhabitants)
  7. The stress of living the hard life in the wasteland is obviously taking its toll on your character
  8. Well, crossing fingers and hoping that "catch up" version with all extras that is bound to be released in some distant future will have it patched out by then.
  9. Isn't the entire point of the unrest and the frustration of the people, that they are fed up with "Old Men" regimes? You can suppress people for only so long and then corruption and nepotism will eventually create popular uprisings. The worst thing that could happen in Egypt right now is probably that Mohamed ElBaradei got into a position of power, because frankly, he seems like an oportunist that just wants Mubaraks job.
  10. What a coincidence
  11. Invokes 'Ramza' For replayability, I probably preferred Bg2, for greatest 'impact' PS:T and for "casual dungeon crawling" IWD/IWD2. Despite being reskinned RTS games, they managed to cater for different interests. Iirc, IWD2 was the first post 1999 crpg where silly looking headwear was completely optional.
  12. Executive summary: Elemental Nods? I've never played the game (despite having had the box for years now), but if it is more chore than fun, then by all means skip it
  13. AI is a major research area in a bunch of universities. The best you can probably hope to come up with in less than 5 years is something that pretends to be fairly intelligent while still cutting a lot of corners Nevermind path finding which is a science all of it's own (having fond memories of Graph Theory).
  14. Except Egypt is Sunni and Iran is Shiite. The only they agree on is they hate each other more than they hate Israel and the US.
  15. It looks like they are running it without any character shadows on those screenshots. Looks slightly "odd" >_
  16. Not really "playing", but noticed that I still had Dragon Age installed. Found an old save game from just before trying the jailbreak. Having fun trying out the different rescue party combinations, getting the occasional giggle out of their bluff attempts at the entrance. Favourites so far is Ohgren/Zevran and Sten/Dog
  17. Still waiting for some serious bugfixing for Dragon Age (like dwarf commoners not being able to re-enter Orzammar, breaking the game) etc. It's probably a different team and budget though. Still, a bit disappointing.
  18. Pearl River Hive...
  19. That would seriously ruin my single status
  20. Saturday the 14th maybe? It wasn't a comedy. Are you thinking of House? It has it's funny moments though. Got it on dvd (got it dirt cheap a few years ago in the bargain bin).
  21. I no particular order... Fallout New Vegas EU III: Divine Wind Alpha Protocol Mass Effect 2 Umm, that's about it. The rest of my favourites from last year were the oldies but goodies (needing stuff like VirualPC or DosBos to run ).
  22. Because stubborn people continued to play them through to completion, I suppose. Not that I'm saying you are stubborn, no, definitely not. Bought all 3 off Gamers Gate a while ago. Played 1 & 2 way back in the past. I really liked 1 at the time, but 2 was hate at first sight. Small linear levels, like an effin corridor shooter. Still hope I find the time some day to play Guerilla. Edit to add: It has to work hard to beat X-Com 3 and JA2 for sheer destructible environment fun.
  23. Wasn't Wanev one of the inmates in Spellhold in BG2 (the former director), with some strange notes?
  24. That was indeed a bit on short side, but it sums it up pretty neatly though The only thing known so far is vague hints that Red Eagle games would like to use the IP they've licensed and for video games. Obsidian's name was mentioned in passing on a "technical consulting" basis. Little else is known. To the best of anyone outside the NDA's knowledge, no work was ever undertaken on a project.
